The staff is unintimidating and approachable, and the gym member community is friendly and down to earth. There are alot of new classes being offered, and they are appropriate for all abilities which is rare at a gym. Guidance and support is offered, but it doesn't feel pushy or judgy at all. There is a women's fitness room, for those who are shy about working out in front of men or the larger group. And while the equipment is older, it's offered in an atmosphere that is welcoming and private. If you're visiting the area, a new neighbor, or an old friend who hasn't been since Michael bought it, give this place a try. I have never been happier with any work out facility anywhere.

He loved the games they played, and took advantage of all of the opportunities offered. He learned to shoot a gun, sail, kayak, ropes course and so much more. When we picked him up he immediately told us he definitely wants to go back this year and he is already signed up. He is now considering being a camp counsilor when he's older. He said it would be a great way to spend the summer. Thanks Camp Takodah for so many memories. And, a special thanks from this Mama. I was very nervous about my boy being away for so long, but the pictures you posted daily were fantastic gave me an inside view into his daily life and kept my anxiety at bay. In 2017 my child didn't really talk about the experience except that he liked going with his friends. The 2019 experience for our second child was eye opening. As usual all parents must attend an orientation. So my child went on the tour and came back completely unimpressed. She felt rushed, the food wasn't that great and the hotels were below standards. Also when she got home I noticed numerous bug bites on both of her arms. Since they had not gone away after several days we went to Convenient MD in Keene. Come to find out the were Bed Bug bites. As soon as I was told what these were we called Takodah YMCA to complain. Finally after 3 months we just gave up.

The showers are coin operated. You get 5 minutes for .50, so not too bad. There is a Walmart, gas station, grocery store, and liquor store within 10 minutes from the campground. The woman at the front was very nice....however, the...from what I could tell "seasonals" were a different story. Yes, some were nice and friendly. However... There was a comment made during adult bingo, and someone said "lynch him lynch him" naturally as someone part of the bipoc community, I IMMEDIATELY felt uncomfortable. In addition, someone stated, "come as you are" & multiple other people said "this is a family campground." Yet, then proceeded to talk about...upside down pineapples, (look up the meaning) and other things. Again, this was an adult bingo, and I don't mind raunchy, but those were very discriminatory statements made. In addition, the "seasonal" campers, or possible group campers made us feel VERY uncomfortable at the pool.
