Barely the boat had major issues was actually in danger of sinking thank good Scott fixed all the bilge pumps and checked everything but there's some issues. They're just too much like a pitted rusted after cooler that eventually linked frozen seacock was never serviced with my fault for not checking service records. If ever buy an old boat make sure those service records are complete. Make sure they change that impellers and the bolts have all been lubricated especially seacock. The saltwater flushing for those engines and if it gets stuck in there the engine could get ruined quickly. This place had a lot of parts and it didn't they'd find it for you. They were very expensive but basically it comes to this : unless your a multi. Multi-millionaire not just a millionaire a multi-millionaire don't buy a boat unless you can fix everything yourself because a million bucks isn't going to save you

This year, dealing with the service department became a $1588 nightmare when having to change gas filters. During our first trip of the year our engine (having used Boats Inc, to change oils and winterize the engine) stalled and we had to be towed back to shore. It looked like there was some problem with our gas supply to the engine (most likely clogged gas filters). We made a service appointment on a Monday morning and dropped off the boat, with an understanding that they would diagnose the problem by Tuesday and provide an update. Tuesday, and Wednesday went by without hearing anything. On Thursday afternoon I eventually called back to inquire what was going on. The explanation I received was that the gas filters were indeed clogged and the technician had replaced 2 of the filters. They needed a 3rd one that was not in stock and had been ordered. I was then told that they would provide me with an update. I was not given an estimate for the cost either. On Friday I had to call again and I was told that they had replaced the filters, but the gas tank had some micro openings and that they would not be able to guarantee their work, if I did not replace the tank. They proposed to look up the cost a replacement and let me know. Again, I did not hear back from them. Finally, on Saturday I called them to inquire what was going on, only to hear that they had not found anything. At that point I asked to pick up my boat, only to be told that the gas tank hose was not connected to the engine anymore and that the technician was out. I got frustrated and asked them to reconnect the hose and that I would go by to pick up the boat. when I got there, I was told that I could just put some silicone around the gasket and that could prevent any future issues. I then received an invoice for $1588 that indicated that they had put in 8 hrs of work !!!! on the engine (the price include a 2 hr labor discount)... When checking online the suggested repair price was closer to $ 400- 500 indicating only a couple of hour of work for my particular engine and problem. The whole interaction and charge has completely evaporated any speck of trust that I have for their service at this point.

To summarize a long story, we had a chronic overheating issue with our Mercury Engine over the course of 3 full boating seasons that MarineMax was unable to fix. They consistently claimed it was the water pump and replaced it twice but never confirmed resolution of the issue (it wasn't). After lots of back and forth, and trying to manage it ourselves on the water, we were forced to have them pull the boat mid-season and they finally did a thorough check. They determined that their technician made an assembly error two years prior while fixing a warranty painting peeling issue that caused a misalignment in a critical water cooling manifold. In addition to all the time and money we originally paid for parts and labor trying to resolve the issue that they created, they refused to refund us the $2000 for pulling the boat mid-season and fixing the mistake they made. We were shocked not only by their poor workmanship, but also poor judgment and leadership. This was the worst bad faith business practice we have ever encountered.

My salesmen Devinn McGale was so helpful. His goal the first time meeting me was not to sell a boat. It was to help me understand boating and my family needs first and then discuss a boat that fit my needs and one that I would enjoy. He really cared. The rest of the staff there Joseph, Captain Rush all were incredible and patient with me and my family as we had no idea about boating and boat ownership. Offered many options and no hard sell. THey offer free services like Women on the water, boating license class, knot tying, lessons on your boat for free and a few others that enhanced the experience. For being new to boat ownership they handles everything from A to Z AND REALLY MADE MY EXPERIENCE TO BOATING A GREAT ONE.
