Chris F and me had the pleasure of attending an opening celebration at this re-furbished pub down the road from us. Word on the street is that it used to be a bit rough, but the work done makes it so nice inside. Exposed brick, lovely wood and beer paraphernalia decorate the front, and the main focal point in the rear is the gorgeous copper brewing equipment (apparently a beast to get polished up to a shine, as the brewmaster figured out while they were getting set-up), which we have learned came from a former brewery in Chiswick.
Since the opening party, we've been back a few times, and will be back again and again.
There are quite a few small tables, and a few large tables for bigger groups. The front beer garden is just lovely, though I don't get out to beer gardens much due to all the smoking, but it's fantastic.
The staff is absolutely lovely, I've met a good few of them, and they are all very customer service oriented and friendly.
We took a group through here last weekend on a pub crawl, and they were fantastic. The hubs, and two of our friends went a bit earlier than the start of the crawl to have some lunch, and everything was fab. I have had the Funky Chicken Burger. There was a helpful young man who took our orders from the table, and continued to come round to check on us.
They are up and running with brewing in house. My personal favourite is the Goalscorer. It's very nice.
As we just live right down the street, it's a clear choice for both, a quick drink after work or a place nearby to have a pint and a meal. read more
