It's a performance 455 Olds engine that I felt needed some precision tweaks to take her to the next level. And boy, did they.. From start to finish the work was well communicated and explained to me by Chad. He has deep knowledge about intricate details of good ole American performance engines and how to get the best out of them. Upon pick up and as soon as I started my car I could not believe the difference he had made. I took a test drive and immediately felt the power. My hat flew off my head as I pressed the gas folks...(MY WINDOWS WERE ROLLED UP!) He unleashed the hidden beast in her. Wow! What a cool shop! They do automotive repair, Dyno tuning, diagnostics, and all sorts of custom work on both cars and motorcycles. I've been searching for a good local mechanic as I have four different vehicles to maintain, and I'm certain I found the right shop for me! Kristen, the receptionist was absolutely lovely, great costomer service and very friendly, (she responded to a message I left on Yelp and was very responsive, helpful and knowledgeable) The guys who worked on my bike were pros and made me feel relaxed and reassured as to what the heck was wrong with my bike And how to fix it. The answer was everything basically, lol. I came in with a 2006 Suzuki GSXR 1000 with running issues, It had just hit hit 26,000 MI so needed a valve adjustment. Oil change, Cam chain tensioner, brake fluid flush, radiator flush, battery, spark plugs (which I tried to do by myself but failed).. and they said that my air filter was by far the dirtiest air filter they've ever seen by far... They got everything done perfectly and it feels like a new bike! It wasn't cheap but you get what you pay for, and it was done right and they were super cool! I brought my C10 in for a Dyno tune after installing a FiTech on it. The motor the previous owner had built was mildly rowdy so the FiTech that I purchased was having issues learning, so it was never a great tune. The initial dyno numbers with the FT were 265HP at the wheels. Jose and the team worked on getting the FT dialed in, including consultation with FT, the numbers looked good, it just still did not run correctly, bogs, hesitations, pops, etc. KC had recommended putting a carb on from the moment I brought it in. I was reluctant as I put a lot of effort into the FT installation :( After a bit of discussion back and forth and much time spent trying to tune the FT with no good results, I went with his recommendation to install the carb. The Team installed the carb and did all the modifications/deletions etc. to remove the FT and get the carb installed. They dyno tuned it and the result was 365HP at the wheels! Significant improvement :) those numbers where more in line with what the engine should have been putting out. From my experience, I would recommend BRG to work/tune your vehicle. KC was very fair on price, the team put extra time on trying to make the FT work but when could not, gave me a good deal to replace with the carb. KC wanted to make sure I was happy in the end, he did not want my truck going out without it being right :) I appreciate that! read more

Took my bike here to have it dialed in after I made some intake and exhaust modifications. Those alone gave it a good power boost, but it really needed a tuning to get the most out of my track bike. I don't have the numbers, but can confidently say that I gained several HP and lbs of torque - the gears seem "longer" and I'd wager the top speed is me over manufacturer specs. Took my bike two months ago to get a clutch replaced after paying $750 via Zell which not a best thing to do. After getting my bike back Steve the mechanic incorrectly installed the clutch. After having the clutch issues with downshifting to first gear they told me it was normal. Anyways after over a months waiting I have decided to take the bike to another mechanic which he found out that BRG installed the washers incorrectly. As of now I'm waiting for them to pay for the diagnostic portion that I paid to the other mechanic that found the issue. Don't take your bike here find a better placed. read more

Back in October of '19 I brought in my 69 Skylark w/455 and ask for a basic tune up. They told me I would need about $2700 in tuning which also included some new parts to make it start and run more reliably. This included: resealing headers to manifold gasket because there was a "leak" in the seal/the car stalled when they sprayed carb cleaner, I believe, on the seems. Adjusting timing belts and pullings because they were out of alignment Installing new Distributor and ignition system New air cleaner and carb tuning obviously Change oil and filter Results: I picked it up only 4 days later which was great. However, after only about 3 days, I started to notice there was quite a bit of oil on the garaged floor. I inspected and saw oil seeping at the back of the manifold to header seal and on the front of the block too. After about a week it had seemed about a 500ml to 1000ml had been lost. I also noticed that I had the same oil and oil filter on/in it I called quite a bit frustrated after spending $3500 only to get a seepy cunt. Conclusion: JC, the owner told me he would take it back it at no additional charge and have the issue fixed. I brought it back to their shop and the Mechanic who worked on it sprayed Dr. Scholl's foot powder around the areas previously discussed. He told me it could be that the headers are warped and not the worked he did re-sealing the intake. I told him "it wasn't leaking before, so please make it not leak." He understood my frustration without too much argument. They re-sealed it at their expense and everything has been good since then! No leaks and she runs like a charm! As for charging me for the oil change and not doing it, JC said he would credit me for it next time I brought it in. I changed the oil myself but I will definitely bring it back in pretty soon to get Dynod and a tune up for my $250 credit. These guys know what they're doing. And with honesty and loyalty to their customers. Recommended! read more

KC is a car wizard and goes through everything in detail with you so you know exactly what is wrong with your vehicle and what needs to be done to fix it. I have to give a shout out to one of their mechanics Tyler who has gone above and beyond scheduling me, is super patient, and does his due diligence investigating any problem I come with him about my mustang. There is no bullshit at this shop which I appreciate. I am a lady with a sports car so it is intimidating going to mechanic shops with a fear of being taking advantage of but this has never happened here. I am writing this review on BRG Racing located in Pacheco California. Located at 110 2nd Avenue building 12, in 2016 a customer of mine took a 2003 Mercury Marauder that was supercharged and custom built with an engine problem, upon examination they have determined that the engine had failed the customer had paid them approximately $10,000 to replace the engine, a year-and-a-half later they installed Supposedly a custom rebuilt High Performance Engine upon break in of the engine, it developed excessive oil consumption and it was discovered the oil had high metal content. The customer took the vehicle back to the BRG racing, and they removed that engine sometime in late 2018 or 2019 the vehicle was still there a second engine was installed, upon startup a bolt became dislodged and found its way into one of the Piston cylinders and destroyed the motor. This Immaculate car has been at this facility since late 2016 till up to 3 weeks ago. The customer is in failing health and the car has been left in a field and had collected mud and dust throughout the car, the family notified me since I am the original builder of this car. They contacted me and said that the owner's wishes was that I should complete the car repair for him, BRG racing has kept the car since 2016 and unable to tune or complete the work that they were paid for. I received the car last week and the car has been completely destroyed I've never in 50 years seen so much Shawty work on a high-performance vehicle in my lifetime. Clearly whoever performed this maintenance and work had no clue at what they were doing the third engine that was installed was never fully completely installed and they were never able to tune this vehicle to run properly for whatever reason. Upon inspection the engine has not been assembled correctly has severe piston to cylinder wall clearance issue causing the engine to knock severely. The engine had not been assembled professionally it had missing bolts bolts out of place the car was a complete disaster and absolutely filthy I have enclosed pictures. I am not sure at this point what can be done all I know is this family spent over $10,000 to had this car professionally repaired and it is totally destroyed it will cost approximately $25,000 to restore this car, never in my lifetime have I seen such a haphazard Shawty shade tree work in all my life. I intend on filing a complaint in California with the attorney general the State Attorney General's office the Better Business Bureau and any overseeing agencies that controls there businesses license, when I received the car there was not even a battery in it the pictures will tell the complete story. THIS CAR WAS IMACULATE It will cost $25000 to restore this car. read more

***SCAMMMERS DON'T GO HERE!!! Unless you want them to hijack your car and not give it back until you pay them more money******** Called and asked if they could Dyno Baseline my 2016 MINI Cooper JCW since I added some performance mods to it. And wanted to know the power now. They said sure they've done MINI's before. Nope!!! I doubt they do anything but motorcycle's here. I told the Dyno crew about having to put it in Dyno mode before the test and they said alright. They ended up asking me to come help them and I didn't mind, but what do I know about Dyno testing? To make a long story short, they did the test without putting it in Dyno mode which triggered a lot of code errors on my car that they then needed to take the car off the Dyno, drive it around to reset the codes then put it in Dyno mode, then do the Dyno test. Well some guy with a cane who looked like the boss came and said we gotta get this car off the Dyno its taking up too much time, then said he can keep trying if I worked with him on the price, (I'm like wtf? work with him on what he hasn't even done the job I hired em to do). I said no way. We tried a few more times and they couldn't get it to work due to the code errors. So they took it off and asked me to come back another time. I WONT BE COMING BACK HERE EVER AGAIN AND YOU SHOULDN'T EITHER!!!!! So to make it worse aside from me being over excited to get my car Dyno'd, driving 90min both ways, a bridge, gas ect. these guys have the audacity to ask me to pay half the price for the Dyno test. By this time I felt like they were gonna hijack my car or do something shady (yes I felt these things cuz it was that weird creepy shop vibe) so I agreed (cancelled payment the moment I left). I found another shop to go to. How is this place still in business. I have also reported them to the BBB. read more

I recently moved to Pleasant Hill and was looking for a new shop for my commuter bike -- a 2015 Suzuki GW 250. Much to the surprise (including a few head shakes) of BRG Racing's owner, I commute regularly to SF on this bike. In the past 15 months, I've logged more than 15,000 miles. Before moving, my commute was about 10 miles longer each way. Initially, I took it in for a routine tune-up. At first, I was a little skeptical when I got a couple calls about one problem with the bike and then another. In addition, there was a delay getting a needed replacement part from their supplier. New to the shop, I was a little annoyed with the delay and a bit skeptical. However, I decided to take a chance and move forward with their recommendations. I'm glad I did! You know that feeling when the refrigerator finally stops making noise. It was like that. I got so used to the way my bike was riding that I forgot how it was supposed to feel. BRG Racing made my bike ride, sound, and look like new. I hadn't realized how much I beat that thing up. Before I took it in, there were so many mystery noises coming from it -- dings, rattles, etc. It now runs incredibly smooth. During their inspection they also discovered a dangerously frayed clutch cable. I should have known there was an issue with the cable by the weird play in the clutch but this is my first bike after a 20 year break in riding. I'm grateful they found and fixed it. Props to their motorcycle tech who fine-tuned this bike back to new and also to Justin who was excellent at keeping me up to date on what was happening. What BRG knows how to do is have some young fella do the work, charge a big shop rate, and the Quality Check is not done. KC, Nice fella; however, the big issue is that the only check he does, is take your check. I have had numerous problems with the quality of work performed there. He may know how to make horsepower but does he need to burn an exhaust can up doing so? Does he need to charge someone money to do a baseline and not provide a graph, ("oh, don't worry it is good enough!") of the engine's performance. If you don't double check your work KC and his crew can get you in deep poop. Somehow these other people have better experiences than myself and some friends who went to get their bikes worked on over a few months period. Unless he has wised up and pays attention, I'd say AVOID! read more

KC and the mechanics are now my #1 choice. Brought my 05 Zx10 in for a dyno and tune. In addition to the tune I ended up having an exhaust put on and they fixed a low compression issue (loose spark plugs). They took very good care of my bike and I got a very well mannered and fun bike in return. I would recommend BRG to anyone looking for a honest mechanic in the Bay Area. Brought my car in to be inspected get a Dyno and install a digital dashboard was given the impression that it would take a few days after a week I called to see what was going on they said they had other things to do they would get to it when they had time so I said I'll come get my car and All of suddenly they took my dash apart said they would have it done by the following Friday meanwhile they kept calling me saying this was broke that was broke and they needed to fix it Friday came my dashboard was not installed he said give them a few more days then they installed it but had to take it out because it was a piece of tape on it build me for it they put a new carburetor on it so it would run better at slow speed in the end a $2000 bill ended up to be 6700 got my car back the digital dash had the following issues blinkers were not hooked up high beams were not hooked up parking brake light was not hooked up Speedometer did not work had to take a carburetor out and put the old one back in because the car would not go faster than 67 miles an hour with that Carburetor and would overheat On top of everything else they did a compression test last week I was driving a car and one of the spark plugs blew out ? And I never got the results of the Dyno still don't know the horsepower of the motor read more

I've been to BRG for motorcycle service and repair multiple times and I can safely say they do excellent work both expensive and small jobs like changing tires. It's not the cheapest shop but honestly it's the only legitimate motorcycle shop in the area so I'm willing to spend more since it's local and I trust their work. For basic motorcycle needs hit up Tyler who's very professional and went the extra mile by adjusting my throttle when I came in for tire swap. I was going to come in a separate time and get that looked at but was able to kill two birds with one stone. Will definitely be back for more motorcycle needs. read more

I called asking for a price for a dyno over the phone after telling them the vehicle I was bringing in, they stated $100.00 yet once I got there they charged me an additional $50.00 more! Then on the dyno they said they couldn't get the proper reading because of all the safety features on the vehicle, huh what? Straight B.S. Last but not least, they claim they couldn't print out my results claiming they would email it to me and to this DAY, I still don't have my results. Look for another place or take your chances cause you could be next to get ripped off! read more
