I enjoyed going here because of the family friendly atmosphere and they never caused me any pain. My issue recently has been going though their receptionist. Any time I needed to reschedule I was told I would receive a call if anything opened up. And then I would never hear back. Why not make an appt even if it's far out, and then call me if anything opens up sooner. Same issue with my family members who went there. Their voicemail indicates that they do not take cancellations over the voicemail. When I called several times ahead of time to cancel, nobody answered or returned my calls, so I had no choice but to cancel via voicemail. I then received a message asking me why I didn't respond to the postcard sent out weeks prior. I feel this was unprofessional and if I need to cancel and still did so more than 24 hours prior like they ask, then that is appropriate. I was then sent a bill for a no-show. I have since had to find a new dentist because of this. I believe there is something shady going on and she just wanted to bill me. You can't speak to anyone else because she's the only receptionist so you can't even make a complaint.

And I've been to my share of bad dental offices in the past that tried to sell me on tens of thousands of dollars of work (that I didn't need). Plus, I'm an insurance agent and I sell dental insurance so I hear of horror stories from many of my clients. I'm always wary of dentists now. We just moved to Tulare and I asked a friend that used to work in the dental industry for her thoughts. She didn't hesitate and referred us to Dr. Martin. I brought my 85 y/o Mom in for an exam and cleaning (for her few remaining teeth that are crowned). Since she was experiencing a bit of pain, it would have been easy for her to tell me she needed new crowns, we probably wouldn't have known the difference. After x-rays, a thorough exam and cleaning, she announced everything looked great! I soooo appreciate her honesty and have happily referred her to other friends and family.

So knowledgeable and answered every single one of my questions with no hesitation. I had very little pain throughout my recovery and I know that is because Dr. Bell did a great job. He engaged me like he knew me from outside of his facility and that means a lot! You don't find many dentist/physicians out there like that anymore. Appointment, time was at 1510, didn't get called back for surgery until 1630. The lack of communication for the receptionist/other staff is poor for the patient. At least inform patient, doctor is running beyond and should be around this much time left to be called back for surgery. I'm rating this a 4/5 stars because of Dr. Bell's desk staff. Receptionist told me to fill out paper work, which in fact I completed online. Asked if I had a ride because of the general anesthesia, replied, "Yes." Kept asking me multiple times. Understand for another time to ask but not keep asking and asking. What got me is majority of staff was taking FOOD! Professionalism is key! You clearly know you have patients in the waiting room/lobby who have been, NPO/Nothing By mouth, for majority of the day. And talk about food, isn't so much professionalism while patients are thirsty and hungry. I work in healthcare myself, in a surgical department, professional and communication is important at all time. Just hoping this will help get staff to be more noticeable to ensure its important to know what to talk about and when to talk about it while patients abs family is in lobby.
