I tried contacting Brian for a traffic ticket, explaining all the details and information. Ticket is minor so nothing crazy and probably easily taken care of. Brian never responded to my request which was put in over a week ago. I understand things may be busy and he cant take on more clients, that's fine but a response of "Thank you but I cannot take on more clients" or "I cant take your case for xx reasons" is a basic and I think reasonable request after seeking his services. I would not attempt to hire nor would I suggest anyone else attempt to hire Brian in the future as he is unresponsive to basic requests and seems to have no respect for the timeliness that matters of the court deserve. read more

I was issued a traffic citation after I was hit by a car while cycling. The driver was wrong and the police issued their citation with no physical evidence, no independent witnesses, and little experience investigating bike/car accidents. This ticket was a thorn between me being able to collect from the driver's insurance company for my medical bills and property damage, or me being liable for paying over $30K in expenses. Got speeding ticket? I think that's the headline I saw about a week after I got pulled over for going 83 in a 70 mph speed trap in Williamson County. The message was on a billboard on Guadalupe, and I answered the ad with a call to Brian's office. For $75, Brian said he would file on my behalf and go to court. And that he did. He mentioned that it was possible that I could get a fine and probationary driving period (no tickets and I stay golden), and that is exactly what happened. Seeing as I had another speeding ticket within a year (and already took defensive driving), I didn't want this one on my record. I was downtown on a saturday night, then I drove home north on Mopac. Next thing I know a police car is flashing lights at me. I received a ticked for expired registration, and speeding by pacing 80mph. I filled out the form on his website for ticket information. His assistant Courtney contacted me. She spoke to me about what options I had in terms of dealing with these tickets. They were helpful, honest and upfront at all times. I paid $75 for their services. I had moved to texas recently, my registration was expired. I took care of the paper work and registered it in austin, ticket dismissed. My speeding ticket, the citys first offer was $125+driving school. Bryan did not like that offer, so we got another offer from the city. $239 no driving school, but either way it would stay off my record. Gulp. $75 + $239 = $309 ticket, yikes. Seemed like they got me. Then, I received an email from courtney saying that the ticket was dismissed by the courts. I had 0 to pay. This ticket matter took over 6 months to resolve, but at the end of the day I paid $75 to Mr. Guerra to handle the case, and $0 to the police, and this ticket stayed off of my record. If I could hire another lawyer to file suit against this so-called attorney: Brian Guerra, I would. Not only did I pay this character, after having a string of e-mails with the same, but he took the payment and never rendered the services, giving room for me to get a warrant for a traffic violation issued. I strongly suggest that NO ONE attempts to utilize this so-called service. I am in the process of writing to the State Bar and others. Guerra didn't have the decency of returning an e-mailing or issuing the refund for services not rendered (after numerous follow-ups by me). At the time of this review, the attorney is still alive - SO NO EXCUSE FOR THIS INCOMPETENCE! I had to hire another service because I was issued a warrant after the fact. read more

I got a speeding ticket while vacationing in Austin, and hired Brian. I didn't expect lots of lawyerly hand-holding for the price, and, indeed, I didn't hear much from him, even as hearing dates slipped by, etc. But it turned out Brian had everything under control (there are advantages to being an experienced specialist!). He arranged a deal with the prosecutor, but it would have cost me a bunch, and I expressed (polite) disappointment. He offered to take it to trial, without charging me a cent more. And he didn't do anything to persuade me to take the deal, even though the trial meant more work for him (and, again, he really wasn't making any serious money on me). I didn't hear from Brian for a couple months, but today I got an email that he got my case dismissed. I can't imagine how....the ticket was legit. Anyway, don't think twice. After reading many positive reviews on Yelp, I hired Brian to represent me on a ridiculous "unsafe lane change" citation after signaling to turn out of a right turn only lane with no cars behind or in front of me. I could have easily taken defensive driving or a plea that Brian and the state arranged. (Basically pay your way out of the ticket and don't get another ticket for 3 mo). Out of principle I strongly disagreed with the ticket so I urged to fight this all the way. My case was rescheduled probably a dozen times and ultimately got dismissed on the day of trial by jury. What matters to you is that the case was dismissed, his flat fee was reasonable but I wish someone set the expectation that the communication is extremely limited. There was zero hand holding but Brian was always on top of it. This took some getting used to as I had to keep checking online to see my court dates getting pushed back and to make sure it didn't get lost and I suddenly would have a warrant out for missing court. None of that happened and Brian reached out when I had to show up for court and he got the case dismissed. All in all, I would use him again and he is effective but I wish he would hire a secretary to handle basic communication even if that meant the rate went up a little. read more

I went to Brian after reading two online reviews after I got ticketed for speeding significantly over the limit. It was an unfortunate outcome for a non habitual speeder. Of course, I was petrified and knew I needed help. I approached Brian and he called me back within 30 minutes. I explained my situation and Brian's responses were extremely pragmatic and insightful. He never promised me the moon just to win by business but he assured me that he would fight for me the best he could and advised me that the best outcome was a deferred adjudication w/ Defensive (which I was not eligible for as I was more than 25 over the limit). Brian and his paralegal Courtney, explained what documentation they wanted from me (driving records, license copies etc). Brian went to work and got me two plea deals from the prosecutor. Both of which reduced court costs but not the number of points. Brian advised me that I would have to get ready for a Jury trial. This again made me nervous as I had never gone through this process before. Brian met with me at a Starbucks, and together we reviewed the map of the area, plotted where I got pulled over, reviewed official press releases about the speed limit therein and then discovered that the complaint (ticket) was incorrectly filed. Brian even retraced my route and took a video of the area leading up to the spot where I got pulled over to prove the actual speed limit was different than what was alleged. On trial day, Brian was early, spoke with the prosecutor , showed them the video and other evidence and eventually got my case dismissed! This was a much better outcome than what I expected and I am thrilled!! The hard work of Brian and his team and the personal attention to detail is what made this possible.
