    Septoplasty Bill
    Paola T.

Fast recovery and pleased with results of my septoplasty. TMJ reduced, better sleep, and improved athletic performance. Overall good investment of my money but HAVE GOOD INSURANCE. Costs totaled ~80,000 without insurance. Since I was in network I got discounts and bills are up to ~ +6,000. Got a surprise bill (8 months AFTER) for 3,000 because they had to perform a procedure outside of what was initially estimated. Still don't understand how that amount slipped billing and it came soooo much later. Hate that the medical system IS NOT TRANSPARENT. Also would be SOO helpful if Dr. Weeks office can give us the phone numbers we will need to call to get estimates of procedures since everything is billed separately and you have to play phone tag with the ambulatory center, anesthesiologist, Dr.'s office, etc... ITS A PAIN, make it easy if we are paying so much!! Pre-Surgery: Front desk girl (the one that sits all the way to the right) was alwayssss in a bad mood. The only staff I liked there were Dr. Weeks & Dr. Janine. They were super nice and answered all my questions thoroughly. Surgery Day: Seemed like La Jolla Ambulatory Center was in a hurry. Wasn't able to speak to Dr. Weeks before surgery (was sedated before I could), and when I opened my eyes the nurses started giving me juice and getting my clothes on. was out of there in ~20min... overall it felt rushed. Surgery lasted ~1.5hrs Post Surgery: No pain!! didn't need pain killers prescribed. In 2-3 days they got the gauze out on the 1st visit and on the following visits the mucus and scabs. I felt there were too many post-op visits $$ but getting the mucus out helped a lot (no other way to do it .... can't stick your finger up that far). After 2nd visit felt the nurse was a bit careless/rough and I had a nose bleed at 4am that night that wouldn't stop. had to get my vein cauterized the next morning (hurt more than surgery). Would have been helpful to get instructions on what to do and have at hand (Afrin)! They only provided a number to call and the doctor on shift wasn't the kindest. He seemed frustrated with me even as I'm trying to deal with the blood, listen and take notes on what to buy at cvs.

    Dr. Brian weeks.....Awesome Doctor!!

One of the best if not the best ENT in San Diego. Great reputation and staff. Easy office to get in and out of.

So I can say from experience, that the quality of the injector makes a huge difference. You definitely get what you pay for. Having a wide face has always been a complex of mine, and the masseter botox made my face slimmer, more proportional, and just snatched my face. I wanted results that are noticeable, but natural and that's exactly what I got. I highly recommend Dr Hess and his clinic, and I would never trust any one else with my face again.

He was very down to earth and knowledgeable, took his time answering my questions and made sure we were going with the right surgical choices. As soon as I had the consultation I knew he was the right surgeon for me. Since having my procedure I have been very pleased with the symmetry of my breasts and overall appearance. I'm able to do all of my upper body exercises and my new breasts suit my frame very well. He was able to go off my inspiration photos and created a very similar result. Dr. Hess is not only a surgeon but an artist of his craft- he pays close attention to detail and is a perfectionist. His standard of care is unparalleled. I couldn't have asked for a better final result and a year later everything is going smoothly. I did miss my last follow up with him but I hope this review serves as a statement of confidence and satisfaction from a happy patient. For future surgical procedures I would feel very safe in his hands.

After encounters with two different providers, I have cancelled all future visits for the sake of my health. I was initially prescribed multiple regimens that only made my condition worse. When I was unable to see the doctor for two months, I saw a Nurse Practitioner who proceeded to prescribe medications I am explicitly allergic to. Even after I reiterated several times that I could not take them, she refused to provide alternatives. Ignoring a known allergy is dangerous and negligent. At the end of my visit, I requested a standard 'After Visit' paper with written directions for my medical care. I was told 'that's not how they do things.' Refusing to provide a patient with written instructions for their health--especially while dealing with infections and medications--is completely unprofessional. Furthermore, they do not validate parking. It is sad that nearby coffee shops and sushi restaurants offer validation, yet a medical facility receiving referrals refuses to cover the cost for its patients. I will not be returning. If you value clear communication, clinical accuracy, and basic patient safety, I strongly recommend going elsewhere.

Oh and I know her time so much more valuable than mine, because then I'm waiting a half hour in her office just to be seen for under 2 minutes..only to find out that she's unable to help me with my concerns..and I had to choose "only one concern...." her nurse said. Her staff is actually very nice. One of them said, "I'm sorry I'm just the messager" It's pretty ridiculous that patients get treated this way. I walked out of her office mid appointment so upset...she basically doesn't care.. No one deserves to be treated this way and every single time I've come here I am extremely rushed, like no joke, 2 minutes. I got diagnosed with pah from CoolSculpting, and adverse reaction where the fat actually grows instead of dies. I suffered for almost a year until I got surgery. Before surgery Dr Lisa told me she had the same experience with pah on her back, they do CoolSculpting at their office too, but she said she wouldn't do it on anyone because of her experience! It's now been 4 months since I have have had surgery (amazing doc in Maui )and I was excited to tell her about my recovery and had a few questions with healing, but she has NO time to listen, care for, or educate her patients. You would think that someone that has gone through this would have an drop of empathy in their heart for someone that has suffered for almost a year with fat growing on there face even?! Like women to women...wtf? What's wrong with people? It's really unfortunate there are doctors out here that are "caring" for their patients.

Fortunately for me Dr G's office is not far for me so I decided to go do a casual consultation. I was so impressed with how engaged he was in educating me on eye Anatomy and the physiology of eye aging. There was no Hard Sell. The cost of his procedure was comparable to Mexican prices which was shocking. I couldn't help myself but to put a deposit down. I was so excited. The day of my surgery went well. Everyone has jitters but Dr G and the staff were extremely professional and reassuring. There was no pain. I'm not going to say the healing process was fun. There was a lot of bruising. Moderate pain. I did have a temporal headache every single day for about a month which was a bit frustrating. I was a little nervous with some upper eyelid issues that appear to be drooping to me but was nothing more than inflammation. I mean come on it was eye surgery there's bound to be inflammation. I remember calling Alex and she put me at ease saying it's part of the healing process. I tend to be impatient. I did, upon her recommendation do hyperbaric chamber treatments which seem to start moving the inflammation out. I'm at the three months Mark right now. My cheeks are lifted and my hollowness and eye bags are gone. I believe my 3-month checkup is next week. There is still some tenderness around the lateral eyes but visibly it looks amazing. I've already told two of my friends about him. One last thing, for those worried that there is not that much out there on this doctor, it's because he left a multi doctor office in which he could not take his patients or reviews with him. He has quite an extraordinary resume if you ask they will tell you . Please don't think he's new at this. He's a brilliant surgeon and you could tell that he's passionate at what he does.
