His insurance "mentor" is the "higher up", with Adamson Insurance & Associates. It was estimated that Scott Sands, owner of sands insurance, with Adamson Insurance and Associates, lost us $30,000. He made a huge mistake when securing our coverage and would not admit and actually instead lied. When I tried to get his errors and omissions provider info, he refused and said that he was under his "mentors" errors and omissions. As I continued to reach out to his mentor and him, I was ignored. His "mentor" knew the situation and yet would not even entertain a conversation with me about it nor would he give me his errors and omissions provider. Instead, adamson's insurance and Associates along with Scott sands, ignored us and covered the whole thing up. We had a newborn, a 1 year old, an elderly man who we took in to help with his medical conditions, and my wife who was just diagnosed and experiencing her own medical condition, when our beautifully renovated Victorian home's finished and furnished basement flooded with sewer water, due to water and sewer backup all over Newton Iowa that eventually backed up in our home as well. Because of the weight of something like this happening in our situation, we were devastated and shell shocked. The work itself that it took to safely clean up and sanitize the home was enough to devastate, but we also had to find a place for our close elderly friend and he had to purchase all new stuff; on top of that, the injustice they did to us all to avoid an errors and omissions claim on them was all too much for us to handle. We were literally and truthfully traumatized by the whole thing. Scott Sands does not even deserve to have an insurance license. Yet, Scott got away Scott free. He was never held accountable. THE ONLY JUSTICE HE AND ADAMSON INSURANCE AND ASSOCIATES WILL SERVE IS IF PEOPLE DON'T GO TO THEM FOR THEIR INSURANCE NEEDS, AND THE JUSTICE THEY WILL FACE WHEN THEY STANDS BEFORE GOD, UNLESS THEY REPENT.

We looked to Scott for assistance for both home and auto - BIG mistake. From the home insurance side, Scott would not provide the insurance binder for my mortgage company to confirm my policy (which I had already purchased). It took four separate email reminders for Scott to finally send the packet to my mortgage company, delaying the underwriting and closing process tremendously. Next, we looked to Scott for auto insurance which was an even bigger mistake. First, I sent him my payment information to start the policy on the requested date. He let the date pass without purchasing any coverage and he didn't notify me. I was under the assumption I had insurance given I sent Scott the payment information, however he didn't purchase the policy meaning I was driving illegally thanks to his incompetence. One month later, he let my paid auto policy lapse because I was not notified of required documentation. I was notified that I needed to set up automatic payments from Scott, but not that garaging information was required to keep my policy. (How ironic!) When I asked Scott why I was not notified of this requirement he stated that was not his job. Well, what is his job then? Don't find yourself asking the same question - take your business to a different insurance agency with integrity, something Scott severely lacks.

He made the process quick and painless. Shortly before the close on our new home, we had some damage to our old home, which caused me to call him to inquire about filing a claim. Even though the damage to the old home wasn't covered by the policy, Chad went above and beyond by getting the names of contractors and suppliers who could help me with the issue. Last Wednesday, my daughter was in a fairly bad accident a few minutes from our home. Her car was…read morehit on the driver's side by a larger SUV. The impact deployed both airbags and caused significant damage to her vehicle. Thank God, my daughter walked away with superficial, minor injuries! Chad Doubleday happened to be mowing a yard right across the street from where my daughter's car came to a stop. He was there in seconds, helped her out of the vehicle, called the police, and called me. He took pictures of the vehicles and the accident scene, and he stayed with us the entire time as the police filled out a report and until the vehicles were towed away. He even started answering our questions about "what next". Chad ended up taking the report directly from the police officer and DIA handled everything so that we could focus on getting our daughter home. His calming and supportive presence throughout along with follow-up from his brother, Chris (our agent), and Shawna really gave us all a sense of security. And as a Nationwide policy holder and employee, I can truly say that DIA as a whole exemplifies the "On Your Side" promise in a big way. I do realize that it's unreasonable to expect your insurance agent to be helping you out of your wrecked car seconds after an accident. However, the spontaneous and unplanned customer service from Chad was so compelling that I had to share this story. As an additional evidence of DIA's commitment to their clients, I found out that the reason Chad was mowing that yard was to help out some elderly clients of DIA who need a little help from time to time to care for their home.
