At this point, I give much of that credit to Dr. Wennersten and his staff. Everyone is friendly. The facilities are always comfortable. I almost always get a seat with a window which tends to make things feel less socially sterile. The visits are always quick and generally painless. And most importantly, I think that everyone is trained in such a way, that when they are conversing with you or asking a question, they do so when they know you can actually reply and not with some crazy instrument stuck in your mouth as it's trying to suck your face off of your skull. I tend to always leave hoping that I run into Dr. Wennersten or his staff somewhere else, because I frankly think they would all be great people to know. And it's that quality that makes me come back every single time.

I went here on recommendation of a friend. Dr. Kennedy (Sr.) was so kind. They NEVER said anything bad about my absence from the dentist (my childhood dentist was all about the scolding). In fact, I think it's a policy or something, because every staff member I've ever seen has practiced only positive reinforcement. I couldn't believe what a difference this made in my comfort level. As others have said, AA Smiles is not cheap. When I had really bad dental insurance, I usually had to pay the difference between what they said a cleaning would cost and what it costs at AA Smiles. THAT SAID, I've never had them upsell me. In fact, they make a point to go over estimates ahead of time, have you sign off on them, triage the care you need, and even contact your insurance ahead of time to help you figure out the actual out of pocket cost of a procedure. Beyond that, you can tell that they invest in equipment and staff, not in fancy fountains and TVs for the waiting room. Also, I'll pay for a quality office if it means avoiding weird strip mall dentist offices. In the aforementioned dental emergency, I needed a whole tooth replaced with a crown. Rather than the usual 'take a cast, fit the crown, get a temporary crown, wait a couple weeks .. ' that takes several appointments, they scanned my mouth and a 3D image appeared on the screen. Then they matched my tooth color exactly and machined the crown in the other room. The whole appointment was less than an hour and a half. On top of that, Dr. Kennedy did a beautiful job shaping to tooth to look natural in my mouth. He also took GENUINE JOY in helping me. I've since gone back for countless procedures and cleanings (with Chris? Kris?) .. I now see Dr. Emily Kennedy and she's fucking phenomenal. I recommend her to anyone I know with dental anxiety.

My issue is that after just 2 hours from leaving this office I was in a crazy amount of pain while i was at the dentist getting fillings done, I asked if i needed a root canal because even though she numbed me I could still feel the pain .. she said no I don't need it and to stick it out we were almost done .. I have had fillings done before and they never felt like this.. I called the office and they wouldnt see me and told me to wait for my doctor to call.. I asked what do they do with emergency patients that were just seen there.. they had no idea and tried to act like what i was going through was normal... mind you I currently work in healthcare and in dental before. I asked can I be seen for them to double check the work she said no .. the dr called me after office hours and told me she can see me in the afternoon the next day.. but didnt offer any medication or what to do with this pain.. luckily i was able to contact a new office who allows emergency appointments and they said the Doctor drilled too deep the next day I went in for a root canal A2 smile called me and asked for my review .. I was grateful that Andrew was able to continue this excellent practice and make it his own when his father retired. I have to say that the staff here are some of the nicest and most professional I have encountered both in the past and currently. Andrew in particular has added his own style and I have to say I've never felt more comfortable with a dentist - like he really makes it a painless process. When I lost my private insurance during the pandemic the office continued to work with me at reasonable rates and has always treated me with extreme kindness and graciousness. I love this dental practice and feel lucky to have such a great dentist that I trust. Lastly, my dental hygiene has come a long way through my own efforts but equally through the tips and strategies that Dr. Andrew Dill has worked with me on. Like Dr. Nevers, Dr. Dill is practicing dentist and also teaches at the U of M School of Dentistry, which is (I think) really unique and gives Dr. Dill a lot of current perspective in the field. I wouldn't call myself a 'coward' when it comes to going to the dentist, but Dr. Dill was incredibly gentle and thorough; he did the cleaning and the exam himself, which was a first for me compared to my last dentist. Dr. Dill addressed all of my dental concerns (i.e., a recessed gum line on a molar that is sensitive to hot/cold, options for whitening my teeth - which I asked about!, replacing my nightguard) and offered sensible, cost-effective solutions, which I really appreciate/d. I felt very comfortable presenting my concerns to Dr. Dill and confident in the quality of the answers I received. I would definitely recommend Dr. Dill to anyone in need of a check-up!

I started seeing Dr. Bunek in 2015 (Has it really been that long?!) at her previous practice. I then followed her to her own practice and I love seeing her in her element! Her studio is ultra chic, located across from the "Big House" with a bit of a Go Blue feel throughout - a nod to Dr. Bunek's training, I suspect. Her all female staff is super friendly and I have loved every hygienist that I've seen. Her style and detailed-oriented, aesthetic eye come through in her work, as well.
