I had so many issues with Josh Harrison that I can't even possibly list them all but here is a top…read morefew. I hired Josh Harrison in January to work on my 83 year old fathers house. He wanted half upfront in labor plus money for materials because he said he's been screwed too many times. That was a red flag for me so I told him we would find another contractor but he was persistent and he said he would start for a 1/3 down for labor cost. He was referred by my Realtor so I thought he would be a good hire. I scheduled the dumpster to be at the house the day josh told me he was starting. He said he was starting work 1/23/2019. He showed up 1/25/2019 only to pickup his check and didn't show up till 1/28/2019 to start work. That was 5 days I was paying for an empty dumpster. He spent the next 25 days showing up a few hours here and a few hours there. He was to remove drywall 2' from the floor on 5 wall (due to water damage) and a closet. Total he was charging me was $2,200.00. 25 days later and only the drywall is removed and only 1 wall has been drywalled and patched (one coat of mud). Should have taken a professional about 3 days to complete. After the drywall was taken down from the closet he told me there was $20,000 worth of damage to the back of the house due to very serious mold issue, that the house would need to be jacked up and that if OSHA found out they were going to shut me down (he must have thought I was a special kind of stupid) I told him I can't justify spending that much on my dads house, I was going to call the bank and give the house back to them. I told josh to just finish the drywall, which was total to the 2,200.00 I had given him. He agreed to finish. So I called my realtor and told her what I was doing. She suggested I get other opinion before calling the bank. I got three other estimates. It was 1,600.00 to fix the back of the house, it wasn't mold it was carpenter ants. Took two professional guys 1/2 a day and no jacks where required. While I was getting other estimates, Josh (who hadn't shown up all week to finish his drywall work that he says he would finish) shows up during one of my estimates. He gets pissed, packs his things and walks out of the job. I tried to work with josh to get him to come back and finish his work but after I found broken decking thrown on the side of the house, deck gate was ripped off it's hinges (he did this right in front of me) and a drywall screw that had punctured the plumbing, I was done. He punctured the plumbing with a drywall screw and didn't tell us. He walked out of the job without telling us the plumbing was damaged. This could have led to the basement completely flooding again causing 1000's in damage Thankfully I had a plumber come out and he discovered it and repaired the damage (at my expense). I asked him to return some of the money I gave him but he refused. I filed a police report and crystal lake police contacted him, he told the crystal lake police that he finished 2,200.00 worth of work. So basically he's claimed he was due $2,200.00 with no written estimate or even sending me a detailed receipt of what I paid for. I estimate he did about 450.00 worth of work. So he delayed my project by a month, did very little work and took $2,200.00 of my 83 year old fathers money. And caused unnecessary damage to my dads house. Even after getting the police involved he was still completely smug and didn't care about the damage or walking out of an unfinished job.

The owner Josh and his team came out and did and excellent job and went above and beyond what was…read moreexpected and asked for. The paint job we had done turned out great.
