We previously used Brian the Fence Man for a residential fence which turned out great. This time he built a long stretch of ranch style fence at our office. We couldn't be more pleased with the job. The quality of work is excellent including the cleanup afterwards. Brian responds quickly, follows through and does everything he says he will do which unfortunately isn't true of all contractors. We definitely recommend him and look forward to using his company in the future. read more

The fence was very nice and we were very happy with it. Unfortunately, we had an issue with one main gate sagging after a few days (warping?) which did cause a lot of headache getting them to come back and fix, however, eventually they did come back and fix it, which I appreciate, and it does function well now. I should have read the reviews before choosing Brain the Fence Guy. Unfortunately, like many others...Once he has your money he will not respond to your calls or texts in order to honor his guaranteed work. Shortly after the fence had time to settle, the gate began to warp and would not close. I called and texted but didn't get a response until after a week. Then the excuses used for many other customers came in. "Melanie" would make the excuse that Brian is dealing with a stomach bug. More time would pass and no updates on when/if they would be coming by. Finally, after his whole family got a stomach bug, he said he would come on a Monday. SURPRISE...no one came or called. Don't use this Brian the Fence Guy. He's all talk and then forgets about you. The whole experience was disappointing and unprofessional. read more

Brian and his crew did quality initial work, and I appreciated their effort at the start. However, we ran into an issue when his team accidentally damaged a sprinkler line. We communicated with Brian and his wife, who reassured me that they'd cover the repair. After sending them the invoice, they agreed to mail a check, but unfortunately, we haven't received it, and his contact number now seems to be disconnected. I understand that issues can come up, and I always prefer supporting small businesses, but I wish they had followed through on their word. Look elsewhere. read more

Fence looks great, however, they missed nailing in some of the fence pickets. They eventually came back out to correct the issue, and they still missed some. They are no longer replying to my texts. I wish they would just finish the job that I paid for. read more

Very hit or miss on the quality of work. If all goes well you are golden but Brian has no follow-up to address issues. His work is ok but not great. He is basically a get it done and then disappear type contractor. I would suggest using a more reputable and honest contractor to build your fence. We had some issues with our gate work that Brian did and Brian only made broken promises, excuses, and lies about coming out to fix the gate issues. We finally gave up and just had someone else come out and fix it. They also noticed Brian's crew had missed numerous nails in the fence boards which they nailed down for us. read more

This guy was hired by my neighbor to do a fence job, the persons who came and install the fence cut my ATT fiber optic line, at the first beginning I drive to call ATT and see if is any outage in my area, but after multiple test they said they couldn't test the signal because it was no connection between the lines and the fiber optic box. They said if they have to come out they will not charge me if the problem is in they equipment or a faulty line, but if they fence guys cut the cable it will be a charge. Knowing that information I called Melanie, at the phone 713-515-9538 to explain her what is going on , and looks like she only answers calls from her family and friends, called 9 times and she never answered. Then she text me saying "We have never had a client be charged from AT&T to fix the issue. So please have them come out " apparently cutting internet lines is a every day job for them. Brian Unruh, owner of Brian the Fence Guy really impressed us with his sale pitch. The fence he put up on May 31st seemed to be fine, until I realized that he didn't put springs on the fence. With two roaming dogs, I wanted to make sure that I would have that installed. In fact, I offered to pay for it. Brian assured me that he would be happy to install it at no extra charge on our two gates. He said it would be a couple of weeks because he was low in stock. In the interim period, I realized that the 6' gate he'd installed beside my garage would not close properly. After a harrowing chase to find my two dogs, I got back in touch with Brian, after waiting more than two weeks. My first text to him was on June 25th about the springs. Then I told him about the gate not working on June 30th. He said he would come by and take care of it that week. I recognized it was a holiday week, so didn't contact him again until July 9th when I sent yet another text asking when he was coming to fix the gate and install the springs. I sent him a picture of the maladjusted gate and a video of how difficult it was to close on July 11th with a text asking him to come and make this right. I told him that we paid him in good faith and we needed it to be taken care of. For the second time, I was told that Brian was in the hospital for tests and he would come by that week and fix it. I asked for a date and said that they were welcome to come into the gates as we were away and had a housesitter there. I said that he'd said he would be here on the June 30th he would fix it the next week. She said he was dealing with health issues and would let me know the next day. On July 15th, Brian said he would come by on Tuesday after he gets his crews going as he would be in our area. On July 19th, I texted to make sure he was coming. She said Brian would have to come the next day because he is at the doctor. I replied, so now tomorrow? The answer: "Yes, like I said, he is dealing with health issues. I apologize. He will be by tomorrow. I replied that I was sorry he was not well (I didn't mention that he seemed to be able to get fences put up by his crew despite his health issues.)I said that it had gone on long enough and that I could not in good conscience recommend him if the problems were not addressed. July 20th, Brian didn't show again. I sent a text to that effect. Reply: Brian has to get a crew guy to fix the gate. We are building in your area on Monday, and he can fix it Monday. I asked if he would fix the springs for the gates as well. No response. In fact, that was the last response I received. Like the other reviewers, I sent my last text to them on July 25th telling them they were a no show again and asked if I should hire someone else to fix the mistake and bill them. I said what he was doing was a really bad business practice since he'd so sincerely promised to stand by his work and he took my payment of several thousand dollars in a very timely fashion. Brian had the nerve to have an attitude with me when I pointed out the mistake he made when writing the estimate. The work was decent but the service is horrendous. The fence was built about 2 months ago and I can't get a return call from anyone since. They used warped boards and left old post in the ground. My next step is to call The BBB. BTFG's crew installed a new fence for my neighbor, but much of the work was done in my yard. Fence materials are good, installation is OK, but workers were careless, sloppy and obviously poorly supervised. Damage to my property/landscaping was minor, but all was totally avoidable. BTFG does not remove old posts. Just cuts them off at ground level. Brian told me that any old posts not covered by the new fence line would be completely REMOVED. Didn't happen and one old post from a section of fence that wasn't replaced was just broken off leaving a jagged stump sticking up above ground level. After many unanswered/unreturned phone calls over several weeks, I finally got a text message response from Melanie. Over the next several weeks after many more texts and phone calls, Brian has failed to call me or show up on any of the days scheduled by Melanie. Has been over two months now and Brian was again a no-show on latest repair date without any notice or rescheduling . If you think you might ever need service after the sale, better find another contractor because you aren't going to get even a courtesy call from BTFG. Soooo, about a yr ago we needed our fence replaced. Brian the fence guy was in the area so we asked them to give an estimate. It was perfect in our range and work began. Very nice 6 inch rot board, fence posts cemented in. Everything went very smooth and fast. Now skip forward to the last couple of days. 3 dogs have gotten loose but yet, no digging under the fence so who knows how. Then low and behold a gust of wind the other day and 3 fence planks are flapping away. Upon exam, 2 nails in top, 1 in middle and nada on the bottom. On another fence plank there were no nails in the middle or on bottom. I have not removed any of the nails but they do not appear to be ring shank, I could be wrong. So after $30 in 1 5/8 inch fence screws, and standing in 40 degree weather the fence is secure. I would have expected ringshank nails, or at the least 2 nails up top, 2 in middle, and 2 at bottom. So just fyi, you may have to re-secure your fence planks with screws if you have dogs read more
