My husband got the eggplant Parmesan which comes with a side salad and bread. He liked it and gives it 4 stars. I had spaghetti with marinara sauce and Caesar salad which I did not like. I give 2 stars. The Caesar salad was not worth the $2.00 up charge. It was mostly the very top dark green leaves of romaine and was not cut into small pieces. It had dried Parmesan sticks and I prefer freshly sliced Parmesan. The bread was ok. the restaurant was very crowded and very busy. Our carry out order was supposed to take 35 minutes but took closer to an hour. I do not plan on eating here again. read more

Awful service. Got here at 7pm. 10:04 pm and still waiting for our food. If you have a lifetime to give, come eat here. Awful service with a place with ONLY 8 tables. OMG after waiting for over 3 hours and asked where our food is. The awful female owner swore at us in front of other patrons and told us to get out. This was a relatively cute restaurant that is super well located near Casey key. The service was attentive and the waitresses were very nice. Unfortunately, this is where the good things end. The food was not good at all. The marinara sauce tasted jarred, the puttanesca was a mess. Both dishes were huge, but they were totally visually unpleasant. The restaurant was loud, small, and dusty. But it just didn't live up to expectations. I ordered shrimp scampi with minestrone soup to go. They got my order done fairly quickly and when I went to pick it up, they were very nice. But the food was very bland. All of it. They gave me some bread with my meal which I appreciated but even the bread was bland. Nothing was seasoned at all. It wasn't good. Waited for a table with my 83 year old mother for 45 minutes and watched them give a table to a group that showed up after we arrived leaving my mother to sitting outside. Went inside to complain and was told they had a table to clean and would seat us soon, 20 minutes later still sitting outside. Gave up and finally left, not sure who the older short waitress is with the dark hair was but she was nothing but rude And the blond was busy talking to her friends as i was trying to get her attention. They also said the kitchen was backed up with to go orders yet during the long wait we only saw 2 people leave with orders. Been coming here over the years, and can say that the wings are among the best around these parts. Order them extra crispy, and they taste like home! Linguini and clams, chicken parmigiana, and pizza are all good. Bread is soft, fresh baked, with a tasty dipping sauce. The dining area is small, so either come early or expect a wait. What a cool little hole in the wall and any place established in 1942 is worth checking out. We went after sunset on Nokomis beach so almost 9pm - another party of 4 and 2 of us. Servers were so nice and friendly - one suggested the Banana pepper poppers - they were cheesy breaded goodness fried and split with banana peppers on the top served with their marinara. They were amazing and the marinara was nice and spicy. Highly recommend. We also had a standard pepperoni pizza. Cheese, crust and pepperoni were all excellent - pizza sauce was just a little sweeter than I like. But we will be back to try some other dishes with the marinara and have more banana pepper poppers! read more

Had the best dinner with the best server last night, Jennifer was delightful! We have been here a few times before and the food is always amazing. The portions are big and everything we try is delicious. Unfortunetly our service has been terrible, not tonight! Everything was extra enjoyable because of the atmosphere - every table was enjoying the night. We love the pictures and hearing stories from people stopping to look. There is nothing better than Briandi's in the southeast . The culture is and atmosphere is just so authentic . When you walk in the door it's like your family and they knew you like it was yesterday. The staff is unbelievable, friendly and 100 percent customer oriented . When you come in the signed photos on the wall are impressive and give this place such an incredible ambiance . Robert Plant with his arm around Mr Briandi and Chuck Briandi and other patrons is a tell all story itself . Oh the food , best Italian Food to include wings in the southeast . Try the veal , freaking huge and amazing , prices are reasonable as well . We went there for pizza when we arrived in Nokomis, FL on January 14, 2018. Our hotel, Home 2 Suites by Hilton recommended this restaurant. It was the worst meal we have had in FL. Did not like the taste of the pizza crust nor the sauce on the pizza. And the pizza and salad were way overpriced. We will not return again. Wish we had gone to Mama Leones instead, which we did later in the month. They are EXCELLENT. read more

Small family owned place right next to our hotel. Went there for dinner on a Sunday night and were seated right away. The server let us know that they were very busy with takeout so we expected service to be a little slower. Although we expected slower service we didn't expect them to forget to bring my wife's salad and her entree also several minutes after mine and my sons. Friends introduced us to this little hidden gem last Saturday. Old school Italian with huge portions and excellent fresh food. Everything we ordered was awesome. We went home with three boxes which we polished off Monday night. They don't take reservations and have tiny dining room. They were doing a brisk takeout business. We arrived around 7:15 just as first dinner Rush was departing and by 8:30 a third wave of diners were coming in. Highly recommend. Back again in May and had veal and chicken Parmesan- both excellent and latge portions. Tried the wings this trip and they were good and crispy and not breaded. This is authentic American-Italian. With the photographs of boxers, racing car divers and men holding giant fish aloft, this bustling, noisy little restaurant could be plucked straight out of The Godfather. The food is great, the service is friendly and quick. The helpings are huge; my lady and I usually share an entree and still feel absolutely stuffed. They have a nice albeit limited wine selection, but they don't have a license to sell liquor. Although the restaurant is really small (about 10 tables and a bar that seats 4 or 5) and they don't take reservations, we have never had to wait more than a few minutes for a table. read more
