We had already received a quote at a competitive business and decided to give Dale's (owner Troy) Service an opportunity to earn our business because it would be more convenient for our son rather than traveling to Waterloo. Troy provided a quote that was over $300 more expensive than his competitors but that isn't the problem. When my son received the quote Troy charged him $79.82 to receive the quote, nothing replaced or repaired. There was no discussion prior to Troy providing the quote of an "inspection fee". I called to dispute the charge and he said he would refund the fee only if we agreed to have our vehicle repaired at his business. Based on our experience, Troy the owner of Dale's Service is unethical and lacks integrity.

I wasn't asking him to do anything crazy I was just stuck with a flat and looking for a little help. I took my car to Tuffy's after Ericksons did $400 of work on my car and my service engine light was still on and then he asked me if I had any problems with my brakes I've never had an issue with my brakes until I left his shop the next day I went to Tuffy's in they said that he drained my brake fluid was completely empty I've never had problems just had an oil change all things were tapped off and go in the same place to have an oil change for the last six years but all of a sudden it was empty or you serious so he's trying to cause problems on my car now I need brakes and my calibers are bad because I drove with no brake fluid in my car this is not even half of what this man is done do not waste your time he is legitimately crazy and he forgets everything he could have your car for a week unless you call him he wouldn't even start on it it could be sitting in front of his door he does not remember anything. It was just disheartening that they didn't check the parts when they came in to see if they were the right parts.

In April 2025, I drove over an hour with my husband and toddler to Jerry Rolling Motors to buy a Subaru Ascent. When we arrived, we were told we couldn't take it home because it needed a new sway bar--something they should've mentioned beforehand. During the test drive, I pointed out a clunking noise and was told it would be fixed. Days later, I picked it up and the noise was still there, along with transmission issues. A certified Subaru dealer diagnosed it as needing a new transmission, struts, bearings, and mounts--just two days after purchase. The dealership refused to believe Subaru's report and made me bring it back again before they'd do anything. After keeping it for over a week, they still didn't fix the real issue. Subaru finally repaired it properly at no cost to me and said it looked like the dealership was just guessing at repairs. The sales manager was dismissive and unprofessional throughout. I would never recommend this dealership. They wasted my time, dismissed my concerns, and sold me a vehicle that was clearly not ready to be on the road. Again, They also blocked me on Facebook to keep me from telling the truth about their company which proves how they run their business.

Let me tell you all the things that were found when they started taking apart the engine, along with the things they said they replaced. They said they replaced the spark plugs, that was a lie. The spark plugs were loose. They said they replaced the distributor, that was a lie. There was a bolt missing to the starter. And the bracket to the starter had zero bolts. They were suppose to do all new gaskets. That was a lie. The timing chain gasket was never done. The valve cover gasket was never done. And the bolts were loose on the bell housing. I guess we will see how much more damage they caused as they tear this engine down and put a different one in. My husband drove his truck for one week. And over $5k. And now we're are putting more money into a different engine. Overall poor quality in their mechanic skills. Never again.
