After walking around Stillwater, we wanted to grab a little snack. I actually remember this space being Brine's and wonder if they sold or changed owners or what. Not sure that I would give this a high recommendation. It is seat yourself, and it took quite a while to get service. We were actually just about to get up to ask for water after being walked past several times when a server finally came over. Again, a place where the food was fine. Just for the price we paid for what we had, I would maybe make other choices. We split some sliders and garlic fries and that came to $30. We happened to be walking in Stillwater on a Wednesday and saw the sign for $3 burgers all day. We went in to have a snack, not knowing how filling it may be. We were definitely pleasantly surprised to see that the 1/2 lb burgers were $3 every Wednesday. It was filling and cooked well. The bun was warm. Note, that with that special everything is extra, lettuce , cheese , chips , etc And the veggie burger was not part of the Special. Which by the way was not an impossible burger but a vegetable patty with mushrooms and onions in the patty for extra flavor. It was good! That came with all the fixings and the standard kettle chips side. Brian's definitely has the casual bar and hangout atmosphere. I really enjoyed it during lunch on a weekday, when it was more quiet. We had a great time at Brian's. Huge big screen tvs perfect for watching games. Our drinks and food were tasty, no complaints. Arcade with pool tables upstairs. I don't understand the negative reviews at all. They allow well behaved dogs and that was greatly appreciated. read more

I rarely write a bad review but I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because our server, a young man, was very attentive and friendly. I'm not sure how he could hear to take our order but he managed to get our drinks promptly. We stopped in at Brian's about at 9pm as everything else in town closes down at 9pm. They have a long bar, several booths and a few tables. I noted TV's so assume it could be a sports bar. It is in an upscale tourist area with many boutiques and small restaurants. You wouldn't expect a dive bar to be in this area. What a chaotic scene we walked into on a weeknight. People were drunk and obnoxious. You couldn't hear each talk without yelling across the table. This is a "small town" bar in a very urban, upscale neighborhood. The food was decent, but nothing to write home about. You could tell the cheese curds came from a frozen batch in a plastic bag and just reheated. Not hand tossed. Disappointed. The cocktail menu was OK, but again, nothing novelty. I had the hard cider on tap. Again, it was OK, but not super. The service was good, and we tipped well. Just nothing too exciting. There are so many really good restaurants in Stillwater, this one is average. They have a great Wednesday special of $3 hamburgers and I'm glad I didn't have to pay more for it. The burgers were very greasy! Both my husband and I patted down the bun to soak up the grease. I'm honestly a little surprised this place has survived as long as it has, especially as Stillwater keeps upping their game year after year. Food is classic Sysco, the two stars are thanks to the Italian Dunkers, which will bring you back to middle school. That's the best thing I can say about this place. The overall experience at Brian's is chaotic, to say the least. Once, I witnessed a bar fight. Another time, high schoolers were drinking clearly underaged. The next time, I was asked by a patron if I wanted to buy drugs. I've seen cop cars here more than any other place in Stillwater. Brian's is phoning it in. I had a basic burger and fries. The burger was a Sysco/U.S. Foods/whatever reheat special, complete with perfect and presumably fake criss-cross grill marks. It was overdone because it started its plastic-wrapped life at Brian's already overdone. The bun tasted stale. The short version: not good. The fries were fine, but this is not really redemptive. The whole thing arrived cold. We also ordered an app, which arrived at the same time as the entree. Stillwater could use a good mid-market burger and beer place. The managers were incredibly rude to our table and didn't apologize for breaking it and offered $20, which was a joke considering he will have to drive 6+ hours to get a new one. Well I did read some of the reviews and was reluctant to visit. But i saw a sign for a $2.99 burger. Holy $2.99 and I did not feel like spending much on anything. So $2.99 i set the bar low!! But wow!!! I added extras to the burger at .50 cents each. They made me pretty much a Brian's Big Mac! The beef was great quality and so was everything else. We have been back several times since. Got refused for having a legal state issued ID, after what happened last new years I don't blame them for trying to up security, but at least get card readers that actually work, bullshit that we get refused after showing real ids, they manager bent my buddy's id in half then gave it back and she refused to take responsibility for bending it in half. People walking around and up to the bar (read: breathing down our necks) with no masks and no feedback from staff that they should not be coming up to the bar.
