Delicious food and wonderful staff. The only downside is the reservation and waitlist system on Fridays and Saturdays. They don't take reservations, and the website is very misleading about how the Yelp waitlist works. Their website states to "add yourself to Yelp and find Brick & Bourbon Stillwater and add yourself to our waitlist. Top right is the queue to add yourself to the waiting list. Groups larger than 6, please put your group size in the comment section." But it does not actually mean you're added to a waitlist. Your wait time doesn't start until you arrive at the restaurant, which is totally fine -- but then what's the purpose of the app? It just creates confusion and false expectations. Waited over an hour to even be sat because we used the app, overall still a great place to eat, just wish the online waitlist info was clearer or not used at all. read more

I'm on a mission to find the best French onion soup in Minnesota and I don't think this is on my top list... or even a place I'd go for French onion soup... but it's okay because the vibes of the building and one of the burgers were pretty good. We got seated in the back of the restaurant near the kitchen door and cutlery table which was really disappointing. When you walk in, the restaurant has high ceilings and exposed brick. There's even a cute loft area. To get sat in the back where the lighting isn't favorable and you're by the staff stations totally ruined the vibe. The soup was.... Just not it. I felt like you couldn't taste the cheese because it was all dried out. The soup itself didn't have to usual depth of French onion soup. I just wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Service was great nonetheless. Our server was amazing. Honestly, she was the best experience from that restaurant. Wish I got her name. The hubby and I had a fantastic dinner at Brick and Bourbon in Stillwater. Our waiter Hugh was phenomenal! So attentive and personable. The food was very good! Some of the best dry rub wings I've ever had and yes that burger is served on a glazed donut. Don't knock it til you try it. We went for lunch and got seated within ten minutes. When we were seated, it was FREEZING in there. I went to the hostess, who happened to be the Manager Amy and asked to move tables because we were so cold. I had found a table away from the air, and it was still dirty from the previous party. Her reply was a very curt "No. (long pause) we have another table with a reservation." No smile. No customer service. Really rude. Well, I was talking to my family who go there often and found out that brick and bourbon doesn't take reservations till dinner. Not sure what that was all about. On our most recent visit I tried the Lobster Mac which was really good and I had the Espresso Yo Self Martini (if you're an espresso martini lover like me, this one is more on the chocolate side than the espresso side, but I still loved it enough to have two). I have been dreaming about this milkshake espresso martini every day since I had it!! 10 stars just for the martini it was that good. It was swirled with Nutella and kind of a mix between an espresso martini and a milkshake, just the perfect dessert drink especially for a warm night. The weather was nice so we sat on the rooftop overlooking the water for drinks and apps and everything was great. Recently moved to MN and everyone has recommended visiting Stillwater. There are multiple restaurants but we decided on this one for our day trip stop. We were seated rather quickly for a busy Saturday afternoon. The restaurant is nice but quite small inside. We opted to sit inside instead of the patio but we still dealt with flies and bugs inside. We ordered the Firecracker Shrimp as an appetizer. For our entree we ordered the Short Rib Ravioli and the Brisket Mac and Cheese. All were pretty good and flavorful. We did not order dessert because the entrees were a filling portion. I am giving this a four out of five due to us asking for the blue cheese on the side in the appetizer and the kitchen sent it with the blue cheese mixed in. read more

For me this place is just okay. The food is alright and the service is just okay. Nothing spectacular. They do have a 3.95% surcharge to your bill if you are paying via credit card. I had a burger no bun on this particular visit. As a side note, I would check their website/yelp about their wait times. I was excited to try this restaurant! It has a cool vibe, but... It was really cold sitting next to the door. The dining area in back has bathrooms that open up directly to the dining area, that's pretty gross. We had the hummus for an appetizer which was absolutely outstanding. I have a recommend it if you dine here. I also drink which was fabulous the mojito. Service was very slow The restaurant was packed and I felt really sorry for the servers as there were only two working for the entire place so as expected service was very slow which I don't mind. However when our food arrived it was very cold. The fries weren't even warm to the touch. I am guessing they would have been fabulous have they been hot because they looked scrumptious. My burger was dry and also cold. Three drinks, two burgers in the hummus came to $109. I would definitely expect more for that price. It was disappointing. I don't feel like it was the server's fault because they were obviously overwhelmed and very busy, but why don't they hire some more servers. I hold management accountable for this. read more

We have been here a few times and love it! Excellent and fast service, very attentive staff. Great outdoor patio with games abs fun patio lighting. The inside is spacious, with booths tables and bar seating. Lots of TVs for sports. Manly/whiskey aesthetic which goes with the menu. If you don't like bourbon or alcohol in general there is plenty for you still! The salads are a good portion, though not a lot of dressing used, which makes it pretty light. The monte cristo is a MEAL, and fun breakfast for dinner concept. The Mac and cheese has lots of flavor options. The ribs are juicy and tender, good flavor as well. The underdog was the salmon which was a table favorite! The peanut butter burger has a lot going on, including on a donut as a bun. It's a lot to take in literally in to the mouth and with the flavors. We'll keep going back for sure! We do wish that they took reservations especially with a young family. read more

We had several drop on our table, we were seated against the brick wall. I took off a star just for the spider situation. The brussel sprouts were amazing. The duck bacon wontons are good. The bacon flight wasn't labeled and had a poor visual presentation, but the taste was very rich and good. Our time at B&B was nice when we bellied up to the bar for pre dinner cocktails. The bartender was friendly and served up our drinks quickly. The crowd there that day was lively and it was busy due to the Snow Sculpture weekend. Drinks: my hubby ordered the Floating Yoda. This tasted like a White Russian with mint chip ice cream. This would have made an awesome after dinner dessert also! Apparently he wanted a treat BEFORE dinner hahaha. I got the Smoke Smash Sip. I had no clue what to expect, but I got my glass with ice ball, a small hammer mallet and a beaker type glass with my choice liquor. I chose Makers 46. The bartender told me to be careful and use the mallet to crack the ice and then pour my Makers over the ice. It was really fun to do and watch the smoke come out. Unexpectedly amazing! Was walking around Stillwater and unsure where to eat because I hadn't been here in years. Popped into B & B and wow! What a great meal with top-notch service and a very cool vibe. My sister and I shared the firecracker shrimp appetizer which was delicious. For our meal, we shared the caesar salad with grilled chicken and the million dollar medallions. The salad was pretty basic and decent, but the tenderloin medallions were absolutely fantastic! Table split a bacon flight and a huge cinnamon roll. I got the old fashioned with a unique smoky presentation, and a slice of bacon and half a waffle on top. Everyone liked their meals. A nice and quiet pub-style restaurant in Stillwater. I'm not from Minnesota and just was meeting some local friends there. Had the smoked meat ravioli and the sliders the two times I've been there. The ravioli was the better of the two. Had a "smoked" bourbon for $14 that was all gimmick and no added value. Skip it. The staff are great. Our waitress was new, but did an awesome job and was very friendly. Nice quiet atmosphere that I'd return to next time I'm in the area. Waiting an hour for a burger and some kids meals to be prepared is unacceptable. When we expressed disappointment to the manager there was little to no apology - guess this is normal for them.
