Specialties
We pride ourselves on offering premium sales and service to everyone that walks in our doors. From someone's first bike purchase to an experienced enthusiast, we have bikes for you. Have questions about what bike you should get? We have experienced salespeople that care about getting you on the perfect bike to get you out and enjoying the road, trails, gravel, dirt, and paths instead of wondering what it could be like. We also are one of the few shops that offer an extremely thorough standard tune-up. All bikes receive a wash in our Bike Wash when they receive a tune-up. We want you to pick your bike up and admire it for being the cleanest you've ever seen after being in for service! Come see what the Briar Ridge Bikes experience is all about!
History
Established in 2020.
We started as an idea and a mindset shared among a group of local business owners and residents in the Solon area. We wanted to bring a premium experience to everyone that enters a bike shop. Solon had wanted their own bike shop for a while. With all the other new and fantastic businesses opening up on Main Street and other parts of Solon, we knew we would be in good company. So in 2021, we opened our doors in February, mostly through the worst of the Covid pandemic, and ready to get people on bikes. The journey has been a trying one, with supply chain issues throughout the industry our first year of business. Getting to see all those excited faces when we open our doors and they see a shop filled with bikes now made it all worthwhile though! With supply chain issues behind us, and premium brands added to our shop all the time, we are ready to make your next bike shop experience the best it can be.
Meet the Business Owner: Alex L.
My journey with bikes started at a young age. When I was 2 years old, I broke my femur running across my driveway and tripping on a bubble mower. I spent the next several weeks recovering in a full-body cast. The very first notable thing I remember after getting that cast off, was getting on my Huffy Rock-it bicycle and learning how to ride without training wheels. I found myself from that point on always having something to do with bikes, but got caught up in school sports, and cycling was just a fun side hobby I did until I turned 19. After high school, I got really into trail running for a bit. Then a friend mentioned to me that I should try out mountain biking. What a game-changer! At 22, my bike obsession was on a whole new level. I had done a few mountain bike races, and absolutely loved them. I got a job at a local bike shop. Then I abandoned my college career path, went full time, and started building up my customer service and bike mechanic skills. Cut to; bike shop owner.
