That's lying.then said we don't sell those Chinese parts ​ , that's racist and incorrect. all this terrible interaction was to hide the brand loyalty they're bound to. i am afraid of sabotage as a tool to drive me away. instead of just outright refusing service because my bike is the wrong brand. I went and got some facts for you. Why That Statement Doesn't Hold Up If that shop truly refuses to stock any components made in China, they're likely contradicting themselves without realizing it. My dad was looking for some bike parts and Mike said that he would be able to track them down for him, asking my dad to mail him a check for $205 and a list of the bike parts in question. He promised that he'd get the parts sent out in the mail as soon as he found them. So my dad sent the check on 9/18/24, Mike cashed it on 9/24/24, and then nothing -- two and a half months later with no bike parts or any real explanation. My dad's called Mike several times and was given weak excuses (been busy, slipped his mind, lost my dad's address, etc...), but still has no bike parts and no apology for cashing the check and never sending anything out. Now Mike Dorval isn't even answering his phone and my dad's wondering if he'll ever get the bike parts (or at least his money back). Mike is a crook and a con artist who clearly has zero conscience if he's okay with ripping off an elderly Vietnam Veteran.

We had just moved to the area, and someone recommended Goldfinch when I mentioned I was looking for a new bike. I'm so glad I listened. I test-rode a couple of bikes at first and honestly wasn't in love with the initial options. Ian, who helped me, never rushed me or tried to push a sale. His focus was clearly on making sure I ended up with the right bike for Eastern Iowa riding--not just any bike. He eventually recommended a Kona they had on display that was already outfitted with excellent tires and some really nice upgrades. I took it out for a ride and immediately loved it. Even though I own other bikes, this is the one I keep reaching for--I've been riding it consistently ever since. What really stood out was that I never felt "sold to." Until my kids stay in a shoe size longer than a few months, don't outgrow a bike in a summer or decide a sport is something they want to play a few seasons in a row-- I'd rather buy used and on the cheap. Our last trip in was for two bikes-- one for a four year old girl and another for a two year old boy. We left with two bikes: one girly pink and the other a boyish Iowa Hawkeyes. I was helped immediately. They showed me all the options, talked size and even installed new training wheels for me before taking them to the car for me. With ample parking, a friendly staff and an ever changing inventory of used sporting and exercise equipment this place serves its purpose. Since they rely on buying used equipment to then resell, their selection fluctuates so I recommend contacting them before going in. How have I never reviewed Scheels?…read more I am grateful to have this location. With two kiddos that are active in a lot of sports, Scheels has come to the rescue a time or two. (Specifically, when I realized my son didn't have an adequate batting helmet for baseball mere hours before his first game of the season. I was able to order online and pickup no problem. He is insanely proud of his golden helmet, might I add.) This location expanded during the pandemic and has a ton! Hunting, biking, fishing, skiing,... a robust Iowa Hawkeye apparel section... shoes, apparel-- you name it! Honestly, my favorite spot to shop Scheels is online. I got some amazing Fornia clothes on clearance. My blazer I got is legit one of my favorite things and I spent less than $10-- what a steal! I also got some great Mud Pie Christmas decor super cheap online. It's open daily, parking is a non-issue. Staff is always so friendly and knowledgable. I have been boarding for a few years but, Kyle had all sorts of knowledge, info and was super easy to talk with about how to make my experience that much better. Needless to say I ended up purchasing some new boots and Kyle set them all up made sure the fit correctly really took the extra time customers don't usually get these days. He checked out my bindings was very clear on what the process would be. Free Flight had my new parts and had it all ready to go in about 1 1/2 weeks time.
