Hall Bicycle has been in business in downtown Cedar Rapids since 1898. With a track record like that, and that they are a Trek Bicycle dealer were enough to get me into their shop a number of years ago. I have purchased three bikes, and have referred a number of friends who have purchased bikes from Hall's. They have a great selection of bikes in every price range. From kids bikes to enthusiasts road and mountain bikes. The staff is very knowledgeable and are keen to help find the bike that is geared to your abilities and riding style. The service department is staffed by some excellent mechanics. Recently they have had a great turn around time on repairs and service. It is not unusual to drop off your bike early and have it ready that afternoon. They have a larger selection of clothing and accessories than in the past, and now offer bike rentals for folks visiting town. The location downtown, just off the bike trail is great. All things considered, I'm always heading to Hall when I need something for my bike(s). read more

Well, there's 700 miles on the new bike and it shows some signs of being ridden by a heavier rider. The Bontrager rim started to fail. Halls let me do a warranty exchange on the rim and then upgrade to a much sturdier rim, just paying the difference. When I got it back, it was like new... they did sort of a mini tune-up. Once again, these guys went the extra mile and had my bike back on the road in an hour or so. You just don't find service like this anywhere else. They are nice folks! read more

Just bought a Trek from this business. The salesman (Wally I think) was great. He compares different models and was able to tell me the differences. I tested two of the bikes I was interested in and after riding asked me how each one was. Instead of him tells by me how it would feel I was able to tell him that the higher version was smoother riding and less bumpy and with this comment he then told me why that bike made my ride smoother. Everyone in the store was great to work with and they were not pushy. I highly recommend them! read more

The guys at Hall Bicycle were what sold me on my bike. They were courteous, kind, and really knowledgeable. I came in a few days after test driving my bike and they reminded me that I got a discount on all accessories I purchased up to a week. They don't have to do that, I would have bought it anyway! Fantastic staff! My wife and I bought new bikes here due to the friendly staff, great product and ability to shop without any pressure. We were able to make our own decisions, but the decision was easy after interacting with the staff. We even brought back a bike to exchange it for a different color and it was not a problem at all. In just a few minutes, we were back out on the trail with a different bike with no cost or issue. Will definitely get our bikes serviced here as well. I have been told repeatedly by Hall that repairs I needed done would take "nearly $1000 in labor and I would be better off buying a new bicycle". Unfortunately, that was simply not true . Most recently, they declined to rebuild my Campy shifter with that excuse. World of Bikes in Iowa City did it in 4 days right before Ragbrai for less than $90. Hall seems to have become a bike sales shop, and a "Trek-only" shop at that. Sad. I used to admire them. But the good news is, I'm learning to do my own wrenching. read more

I brought a bike in there to get the it fixed. So I waited 2 weeks and when I got it I tested it in there parking lot, but when I tested it a part broke off, so I asked them to fix in again, and he said we will charge you again. Bad service, rude. :( Buy at your own risk!!! read more
