I am particularly interested in art books, and books about antiques and collectibles. I saw books there that it took me years to find, or that I had never seen before. I found no 'old' books, or 'second hand' books or 'well-thumbed' books: just crisp, shiny books bought someplace else and now being sold at Dove for $5-10 more! We've been shopping here for at least 28 years, and it remains one of the absolute must‑visit stops every time we're in Woodstock. There's something special about a bookstore that maintains its character and quality for decades, and Golden Notebook does exactly that. I have never walked in and not been wowed by various sized crystals. They also always have new crystals and change the displays which brings amazing energy in. They had a good amount of seating (including both in the coffee area as well as surrounding the books). The service was friendly and they had a really good variety of books to choose from. I wish they had more separate tables and chairs bc it gets packed but this is a nice place to kill some time, come w ur partner, or just do some work. Their drinks are amazing!
