Dr Brickell and his staff are amazing! I felt better after my first visit. Basically the first visit is to assess and take X-rays, then the second visit is to go over results and do your first adjustment. I've been to a couple of chiropractors and you can tell the difference right away, he is very knowledgeable and caring. Also you don't have to wait to be seen like in other places. I am grateful for Dr. Keith Brickell!! I am very active however I do sit at my computer several hours a day. For months I experienced lower back, right hip and pelvic pain. I decided to visit Dr. Keith Brickell Chiropractic Center after suffering from all day long headaches, head pressure, pain in the right side of my ear and neck, and a high pitch ringing in the right ear for about 5-6 days. Obviously, with these symptoms I had many sleepless nights, especially due to the high pitch ringing in the ear. Not knowing the reasons for my symptoms, and after consulting with my Family Physician, he agreed that the best option was for me to see a Chiropractor, so he referred me to Dr. Brickell. The first thing Dr. Brickell did was to take X Rays of my Jaw, and Neck...front and back. With the X-Ray results Dr. Brickell was able to point the issues creating the headaches including among other things issues with the neck, nerve, jaw deviation, and muscle tension on the right side of my neck. Dr Brickell did explain the technical approach to treat my symptoms and started treatment right away. From day 1 to today, I can tell that my pain has been reduced from a 10 to around 2...and although I am still on treatment, I feel much, much better. I hurt my back, I have no idea how, normally if I hurt myself i know if it was because I fell, or bent my body a funny way, normally I have an idea of what I did, but this injury has truly baffled me, it started with a pain on my neck, and then a pain on my lower right side of my back, next thing I know I can't move, the entire right side of my back was spasm-ing and in so much pain, it hurt to walk, it hurt to sit, even getting in and out of my car or laying in bed hurt, I couldn't it stand and decided I needed professional help. Several friends told me I shouldn't go to a Chiro because of my muscle back pain and they said the chiro would only manipulate my bones, but I do have some experience with chiros, and I will admit that experience hasn't been positive but I went ahead and scheduled an appointment to see Dr. Brickell. As soon as I met him and we went over my symptoms I felt I was in good hands, he was listening, he had feedback, he was extremely knowledgeable and he had a plan to make me better. After reviewing my xrays they uncovered incorrect curving of my neck and lower back which is what was contributing to my pain symptoms, he explained that this type of damage doesn't happen overnight, it's something that apparently had been wrong for at least a few weeks and it finally got really bad, the good news is that he said he could fix it. Honestly I was very skeptical because of the amount of pain and discomfort I was in, but within a few days of treatment I am almost pain free and almost back to normal! Dr. Brickell has many years of experience and he is by far the best Chiropractor I have ever been to, he knows exactly how to maneuver and properly adjust backs, he's the real deal not like previous quacks I have seen in the past. The office receptionist and nurse are also a pleasure to deal with, they are warm and welcoming and made me feel very comfortable when scheduling appointments and helping with my treatment. I feel so good I can even breath better, and as Dr. Brickell told me many issues with the body can be attributed to incorrect balancing of the spine and he wasn't surprised when I told him I could breath better. Also, Mark is the best physical massage therapist I've ever been to, he's worked in Dr. Brickell's practice for over 17 years, he is very caring, and he is not only talented but massage therapy is truly a gift for Mark, his massage therapy along with Dr. Brickell's treatment have been a life saver! I've been a regular of Dr. Brickell's for years. It was only until recently that I've truly appreciated his services. I was fortunate enough to meet Dr. Brickell the very first time I had chiropractic treatment. I had assumed that all Chiro's worked just as he did until recently when I moved to miami for the last year. While in miami I went through 4 different chiropractors as I was searching for the same level of effective treatment as well as the humanizing bedside manner that I had come to expect from years as a patient of Dr. Brickell's. Since I had been "conditioned" and couldn't find a comparable Doc. I pretty much stopped receiving chiropractic treatment all together until just recently when I moved back to Fort Lauderdale. Hands down the best chiropractor in SoFla. I have been going here for years and can give a 100% honest testimonial as to the healing power of this office. My first visit here was due to a lipoma growing on my spine and causing me so much discomfort and pain that I couldn't sleep. Not having any idea what was going on I was referred to Keith and decided that I had to see a chiropractor. We found out that I had developed a sizeable lipoma pressed directly next to my spine. We started treatment and continued regulary for a few months and to this day the lipoma rarely flares up even when I have had another back injury which brings me to my next series of treatment.. I was involved in a auto accident where I was broadsided and so keyed up I did not sleep for 2 and a half days. When I finally did and woke up, my movement was severely limited, not allowing me to move my neck more than °45 to the left and none to the right. I was also suffering from major back spasms as well. The wreck had really jacked me up. Every movement was painful, and made me realize just how many common movements we all take for granted. I had to be driven to his office for that visit, but the time I left, not only was I able to regain enough movement to move my head again, but Doc had also referred me to a serious pro in the field of litigation specializing in auto accidents. He put together a comprehensive therapy plan involving himself as well as Marc, the house therapeutic massage specialist. Over the course of the next 4 or 5 months, the work that these two helped me to heal, far beyond my expectations and WITHOUT PHARMACEUTICALS, which was of the utmost importance to me. Many doctors love to and will quickly jump at the chance to turn a patient to a junkie, and Keith is hands down not one of them. The staff here are top notch. Even though Elfa has retired, Adori is still there and Lisa is very nice. They arw thorough and kind and I have very few places I have been to that have treated me so well, and that goes for any type of business. Doc and I have had some great convos and laughs and he is a wonderful professional with a helluva personality. Moving on to Marc, there is noone else I would recommend anyone to go for therapeutic massage in SoFla. Marc's skills are off the chart and he literally has a sixth sense for finding the root points of pain and discomfort and working them out thoroughly. This is a completely unsolicited review. I don't even live in Florida and now I wish that I did, after having seen Dr. Brickell at Brickell Chiropractic. I was on vacation in the British Virgin Islands and woke up the morning of departure and couldn't move my head...at all. I figured I'd grin and bear it with the plan being to spend the next 2 days with a friend in Florida before returning to my home in Los Angeles, where I'd just see my own chiropractor. But the pain was unbearable so I asked my Florida resident friend for a referral. Oddly enough, she's in pharmaceutical sales and called a doctor she knows. He referred Dr. Brickell. My requirements were, "I need someone knowledgeable, kind and gentle who will help someone he knows won't become a regular patient". Well, I never expected to get such a fantastic referral. I've read a ton of Yelp reviews. I hate when they go on forever, so I won't do that, though I could. I stress that I cannot say enough positive things about Dr. Brickell. He was altogether kind and gentle, explained every move he made and why, explained his entire examination and why he came to each conclusion about the state my body was in. He also went above and beyond with my examination...couldn't have been more thorough. He was caring and gentle with my adjustment, yet he was conservative with it due to my state. Prior to that, his nurse put me on the EMS (?) machine which helped the tensed muscle relax and then followed that with ultra-sound treatment that diminished a substantial amount of the swelling in my neck. Dr. Bricekll treated me far beyond my wildest expectations and even spoke to my chiropractor in LA after making his assessment and before doing the adjustment. I actually got teary from the pain (because I'm incredibly active and have never had this kind of thing happen) and he greeted that response with a box of tissue and some kind words that truly made me feel better. Honestly, I only have a chiropractor back home for maintenance and well-being. I've never had any real issues. Dr. Brickell spoke to him regardless of my above-average health. Anyway, I could go on but I won't because it can get annoying to hear anyone gush. But if you're seeking chiropractic treatment, go here. See Dr. Brickell. I've never written a Yelp review and I have to get on a plane in 4 hours but I made the time to write this one because he's worth it.
