Disappointed by how unwelcoming this store was to families with young children. This is a resale Lego, Duplo, and Primo store, so I expected it to be more child-friendly. My toddler had a few normal moments of fussiness while we were there, and a manager asked us to leave, claiming we were disturbing customers -- even though the store was nearly empty. My oldest son had spent over an hour searching for specific Lego pieces and was heartbroken that he didn't get to buy them. What upset me most was how poorly my daughter was treated for simply acting her age. We also reached out to management afterward and never received a response from the owner. read more

Dan has impeccable taste and is super creative with his Lego. I came here all the time while building a Lego model of our Victorian home and he was patient with me sifting through the bins for baby blue bricks. A great local gem!!! read more

A good selection of items, both new and pre-owned! They even carry stuff that you can usually only buy online through the Lego store. Prices are very reasonable on most items. Just like the Lego store, sets are separated by theme, to make it easier to find what you're looking for, and there is a build a minifigure station. This is my happy place. This is a great local business with friendly, helpful, knowledgeable staff. They sell new Lego sets as well as pre-owned. They also sell popular mini figs and have a "build your own" mini fig section. My 4 and 6 year old kids are obsessed. If you need a way to entertain kids, take them to go build their own mini fig for some endless fun. They also have huge tables of random loose legos to dig through. You can fill a cup or a bag. My kids love digging through the lego tables to find unique Lego pieces that they see as "treasure." My husband likes to find pieces to make creations in Lego books like castles for our girls to play with. Coming here is one of those experiences that I know my kids will have fond memories of when they're older. This is a great local business to support. read more

I am a freeform Lego fan on top of always being on the look-out for new, fun doodads to brighten up my office at work and so when I heard there was a Lego store opening up I popped in for their grand opening weekend to check them out. I did not realize that there were so many different miniatures that Lego released. It was great -- I didn't get a ton of things for the office but I was able to find a variety of miniatures (apparently called "Minifigs", hence the name in their store title) that fit the likes of various friends and family. Stocking stuffer city! Now I'm pretty sure Mrs. T and I will be the King and Queen of Stocking Town come Christmas. The customized "Build your own Minifig" also lets you buy a figurine and customize it. So you could, say, buy Superman and put your own face on it. While I am not (as of yet) sporting any children they also host parties (both lego parties and painting parties, I think?) which 10 year old me wishes I had a time machine for. The inventory seems to change a lot because they buy used sets so the other nifty thing is that they will always have something new. For the free form lego folks like myself they also sell parts by the bucket. Considering Lego classic will run you a good $45 for a "Classic" set assortment-- their price being much less than that is pretty awesome. I opted not to just have a pile of legos in my office but as I have an unused table... who knows how long I can resist? I know that if (when) I give in, though, it'll be these guys I turn to in order to fill said table. read more

This store is absolutely awesome. This store concept is brilliant; we are lucky to have one in Madison! The cases are stocked with unique Minifigs. If you (or your kids...) like the animals and oddities that typically only come in larger sets, this is the place for you. Additionally, the build-your-own Minifigs section is super fun. You might even find the right pieces to replicate your co-workers... :) I second the staff compliment; Dan et al. are as good as it gets. read more

Update: Again, I'm really glad this place is here. My kiddo and I love to come here and see the latest display, and to agonize over which minifig to take home from the huge selection. One of the big two complaints in my previous review was the lack of big normal bricks to use. The bins of loose bricks were made almost entirely of very specialized pieces, that you couldn't build much out of, like wagon wheels or pirate ship rigging. I've visited a couple of times since then and the number of big bricks has dramatically improved. I saw the rectangular bricks we needed that can be used to build any damn thing. I was in hog heaven. I don't know if they read these reviews or what, but I'm a very happy camper. The prices for boxed sets and stuff is still much higher than you would pay getting it any other way, but hey, they have to pay the rent. The bulk bins and build your own minifig parts are a great value. read more

I finally made my way into Bricks & Minifigs Madison. This store did not disappoint. My inner geek had tons of fun wandering around the store and taking in the sights. I made a small purchase for my sweetheart and he loved it! I will definitely be back for more. read more

Awesome place. You don't actually need to buy a $90 minifig (not sure there are many of those at this store); there are Legos at all price points. Every time I've been here, I've found something different. I love the concept and will continue to patronize the store whenever possible. This review is for Bricks & Minifigs birthday parties. We were overall disappointed. The room was fine but the woman running the party was inattentive and clearly did not want to be there. She was constantly checking her phone and keeping 5-6 year old's interest takes more effort than that. Very disappointing. They also offer a free t-shirt for the parties. They did not have any children's sizes left - come on! and promised to call once they got more in. We'll see if that happens. Party was definitely not worth the money. However, the minifigure table was the highlight and that never disappoints. Owner is a great guy and was willing to work with us on the date due to snowy conditions. Head good experiences from other birthday party goers. I think a lot has to do with who is leading the party. read more
