The help at the counter is very good. But beware that last year delivery was $220. This year it is stated as $230 but is really $285 because they not tack on a $55 fuel surcharge, gouging, They have a sign up that it takes months to find a customer and seconds to lose one. Maybe they should look at the fuel surcharge. read more

Very nice people but horrible service. They botched our order multiple times -- failed to have our bricks delivered from their other yard, never called us back, and the whole order came up short 20 bricks which severely delayed our project. Also much more expensive than other masonry shops. They all sell the same brands, so go somewhere else. Update: the owner, Rick, found the missing brick and personally delivered it to me which was super helpful. Seems like they maybe have some staffing issues but the owner is a great guy. read more

I went to the Vacaville location off of Midway. The staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable in the products. I ended up purchasing over 4000 lbs of block wall material and the helped me load each brick. This place is so much better than the typical home centers. The materials are superior in quality and the prices are competitive. In short, I bought materials that were substantial and didn't look like I was decorating my yard with toy blocks. Customer service is superior to the big home centers. I have never had a home center assist me with loading over 4000 lbs of material. These guys literally "Rock"! read more

If you're in the market for pavers, make a visit to the Brickyard. They have a wide selection of paver products on display. Seeing how they look on the ground, in an expanse beyond a 2'x2' sample panel, and next to other styles and colors really help your selection process. Lots of rock places also sell pavers and have a few examples on view. The Brickyard is focused on pavers and stones for walls. Excellent customer service! Aldo walked me around practically the whole property helping me find exactly what I was looking for. I needed some stepping stones for my garden and got some beautiful slabs of quartz all for under the price of one stepping stone from the nursery! Laura was great on the phone and Jacob helped me sort and loaded my car for me. Everyone was so on point and helpful. Been coming here for years for decomposed granite and rubber bark. It's not cheap and even as the cost went up we continued to patronize them. We are doing our front yard to save water and needed 9 bags of the bark. When asked for a discount or seniors discount, got a curt "no"! The yard guys are great but we will not be returning. read more

This place is awesome! They have a far wider selection of patio pavers compared to Home Depot or Lowes at a better price. Their bread and butter customers appear to be contractors but they are open to the public. We went here to purchase everything we would need for 250 sq ft of a DIY patio. We went with the caltone mission series. The pavers, road base, sand, and all other necessities came to about $1400. To compare, Home Depot had a 'patio in a pallet' of similar pavers at $1000 for 100 square feet. So that would have been $2500 without all the other extras. They accidentally printed the delivery fee as 95 cents on the invoice, when I pointed out how cheap that was the manager laughed, stated it was $95 but then waived the delivery fee for catching that which was pretty cool. They deliver everything on a semi with a fork lift piggy backing the truck. This worked great for me since we have an access gate for vehicles to our back yard. The delivery man was able to directly pour the road base into the hole I dug, then place the sand and pavers directly next to it which saved me a TON of time and effort! I could not be more satisfied with the value of Brickyards products and the quality of their service. If your thinking of building a DIY patio look no other place! read more

Things that shouldn't happen... peanut butter and tuna sandwiches, a Kardashian winning a Nobel Peace Prize and having whoever the older guy who works the front counter be the first impression or main customer service you talk with. I don't know if he is the owner or just a another employee but this older guy should NOT be your first line of communication. In my opinion has the personality of a man who rather be ANYWHERE than working or talking to us or anyone else that came in. It came off like he either hated his job or things gone bad somewhere else. He had no personality, gave us condescending and way to curt attitude and even when trying to make the best out of it made several snide comments that were uncalled for especially for first timers. The breaking point was a simple question that he pauses for dramatic effect, breathes out like he is frustrated and gives a look that I finally said enough since he was getting too weird and somewhat creepy in our opinion. It's a shame since the outside latino forklift guy was very helpful but this guy... just cost his business a pro job and I am sure more who just don't yelp. At first we took it personal but saw he just was in our opinion that bitter to mostly everyone... if he doesn't want to work or play well with others I am sure in this economy you can find hardworking people who GLADLY take his job and be a better first impression that this guy. We were there to spend $3500 on our budget and after talking with him we took our business elsewhere. The previous comment about curt and rudeness were spot on. We'll spend our money elsewhere, I get it... not everyone will be happy but in my opinion when you treat your customers like they aren't people or matter you need to get another job or have someone else do yours. read more

I stopped in here to ask some questions and get some ideas and or input from a professional regarding landscaping my back yard. I did not know where to start when it came to planning out the project, so I was hoping for a little direction, maybe some helpful suggestions, and to gain some knowledge from people who know what they are doing. I couldn't tell you if anyone there knows anything because my visit to this establishment did not last very long. It appeared that I was "annoying" because I did not know exactly what I wanted or how much of it I needed. When I asked questions, I got short, rude responses, and the small amount of information I did get regarding costs was almost laughable when compared to other businesses in the area. I left there after less than 10 minutes, I could have told you that I had no intention of giving these people my business after the first 2 minutes of being there because of the customer service. However, I left there and was driving home when I happen to notice another business just down the street that appeared to also deal in building ad landscaping supplies, called Resource Building Material. I decided to go back and check them out and I am very happy I did!! I ended up giving them my business after spending over an hour with Jackie, who helped me pick out supplies and made sure I knew exactly what I was getting. Although the Brick Yard was rude and not helpful at all, I am happy I found Resource because of their bad service!! read more

Service and selection was terrible. Customer service was the worst. They have giant signs saying they value their customers, they don't.

I've been working with the Brickyard for several years now and it's about time I wrote a review to praise all the guys down there that do such a great job, that make my jobs happen. They normally have everything we could ever need for our hardscape jobs but if by chance it's not in stock the Brickyard will make whatever arrangements to get asap. I can't say enough good stuff about my experience with the Brickyard. They are a very, knowledgeable, professional and likable group of guys and gals. If I ever have a customer not sure what material to choose the Brickyard always takes the time to help them out. I just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work John,Freddy, Joe,Rick, Alyssa, drivers Bill, Jose,Jose , Pepe and and the guys in the yard. I couldn't and wouldn't recommend another stone supply yard and I've used all of them in the Sac area. read more

I've never yelped before, but I feel this situation calls for it! A customer I referred to the Brickyard felt she was sexually harassed by an employee. She called me as she was leaving their location and I immediately got on the phone. I spoke with Manager Dan... he suggested we all meet in person. Not sure if he misunderstood me, I re-explained that my customer felt she was sexually harassed and had no intention of seeing them again. He said that if she didn't want to meet in person then he couldn't help. I called the Corporate Office, I spoke with Owner Tony, he said the same thing... If we couldn't all meet together then there was nothing he could do. I WILL NOT WORK WITH THE BRICKYARD AGAIN! I feel terrible that my customer had a bad experience and even worse that the company didn't care about it! Thankfully, we found a respectful company that was deserving and happy with the $4,000 we spent on materials. I encourage everyone reading this post to make sure the companies you work with are reputable and respectful. read more
