My daughter found the dress she had been dreaming of. The staff encouraged her, told her she could buy it, and the entire store joined in a huge celebration as she said "yes" to the dress. What should have been one of the happiest moments of her life turned into complete humiliation and heartbreak when she was suddenly told she was not allowed to purchase the dress after all. She ran out of the store in tears, utterly embarrassed in front of everyone. This kind of bait-and-switch behavior is not only cruel it violates basic principles of decency and and several Michigan consumer protection laws. The staff did absolutely nothing to help or console her afterward. No one followed up, no one apologized, and no one made any effort to make it right. Instead, they left a sweet, innocent young girl crying and traumatized. As a military Veteran and community leader I urge all families to not shop here, and to take your business elsewhere. This company ignored my asks, disregarded my child and spit on military families everywhere. Boycott all Bridal by Viper locations. read more

This place is an absolute joke. The tone was set from the second we tried to open the door. Our appointment was for 12pm. We arrived at 11:55am, went to the door, tried to open it, and it was locked. A woman came to the door and said, "I'm sorry, but we open exactly at noon." and shut the door in our face. So we went back to car in the windy weather and sat there for another 5 minutes. Another group of ladies showed up at 11:58am. They were told the same thing. At this point, it was comical. The same woman that made us wait in our cars for 5 minutes (instead of giving us a warm welcome and letting us sit on a couch to wait and possibly offering us a water) ended up being our consultant. Her name was Amber. She started asking me about my preferences. I informed her that I had already filled out the preference list that was sent to me online. She didn't even bother looking at it. Then she told me that I was going to pick out 4 dresses to try on and she would pick out 1. I told her that I had already selected 5 dresses to try on that were on my wishlist I had created online. I asked her if she had pulled them for me ahead of time. She said, "We're having a problem seeing wishlists online right now. You can see your selections, but we can't see them." I said, "Okay. Well here is my phone and this is what I selected. Could you please see if you have these." She leaves for a few minutes, comes back, and says, "We don't have any of these dresses in the store." Great. Just what I wanted to hear. Still trying to keep an open mind, I look at what they do have in the store. I picked out 4. She picked out 1. None of them were winners. She then went back to pick a few more. One was quite nice. I was really starting to fall for it. We decided to go out in the main showroom to try a veil on with it. Because the dress was 3 sizes too large on me, she said, "Let me see how long it would take for me to order this one and get it here." She leaves, comes back a few minutes later and says, "Well I hate to tell you this, but this dress has been discontinued." WELL THEN WHY EVEN SUGGEST I TRY IT ON IF IT'S NOT AVAILABLE??!! Know your product so you don't put people in this position! With this being my first time trying on dresses, I did learn a few things from the whole process. That was literally the only thing I took away. Other than that, it was a complete waste of time. Between the lousy "welcome", no dresses in the store, the lack of care with studying preferences ahead of time, and no knowledge about what is discontinued or not, it's a complete wonder how this place sells anything. She listened and made me feel 100% sure on what I wanted and liked I had 6 people with me, with lots of opinions and she handled it so well. I could not of asked for a better dress experience as a bride. I know lots of reviews mention alterations but I also just noticed they completely redid the dept and have been super communicative with my dress timelines and alterations! 10/10 give them a shot!! read more

I was pressured into ordering a larger size thsn the sample dress.. which fit and looked great... when I got my dress that they strongly (pressured me into) recommended that I order a size larger... the dress is so much bigger that it looks like a different style with a blousy bodice and fuller skirt and needs to be very altered down to fit me. The alterations will cost more than the dress.. I am the mother of the bride and it has created great stress for me and they were terrible and rude and have NO ACCOUNTABILITY for the fact that they pressured me into a larger size because the waist measurement put me up a size and did not inform me that the bust and hip measurements were the sample size.. the dress is an a line with an elastic rueshd waist.. ELASTIC stretch's .. they underinformed me and pressured me into a larger size and when I discussed all this with them they gas lit me and said you should of ordered the size you wanted all sales are final you can reorder and buy the smaller size and hopefully you will get it in time... Extremely disappointed. I purchased my wedding dress from this place & when my dress came in & I tried it back on at their location, the dress didn't even fit over my hips. & I have not put any additional weight on since ordering the dress. During the initial try on experience, I was measured twice after deciding on my wedding gown & expressed concerns repeatedly that I did not want to receive a dress that was too tight & even requested for the dress to be sized up for that very reason. I have asked for them to make it right & they are refusing to do so. No matter the business, a product that does not meet expectations should be corrected in some way. My step-daughter went here for a personalized prom dress shopping experience and left in tears. The store has a policy that they won't sell the same prom dress to 2 girls at the same school. Before the fittings, the stylist is supposed to ask which high school the customer attends and ensure that all the dresses they are trying on are not already being worn by another girl at the school. My daughter tried on 3 dresses and fell in love with a beautiful lavender dress. They even announced to the whole store that she said yes to her prom dress. They then told her that she couldn't purchase it because they sold the same dress, in the color green, to a girl at her school already. At this point my daughter was embarrassed and in tears. They called the other girls mother to get permission to sell the dress, to which the girls mother said no. This is completely unprofessional and cruel. My step daughter's mother drove an hour to this store and planned for this day to be extra special and instead my step-daughter left in tears. They need to take steps to make things right when they make mistakes And they also need to ensure that this never happens to another customer. They ruined her prom dress experience and our whole family is livid. read more

If I could give this place negative reviews I would. My boyfriend was just in a wedding yesterday (Saturday), the entire wedding party rented tuxes as well as the father of the bride and father of the groom. All together we had 11. They were "fitted" in January, and the beginning of this week, finally got the call to try them on for the first time since ordering. Only one of them was correct in size. We went back to try on, on Tuesday. My boyfriends pants were two sizes too big/long. When addressing it, the woman helping us said "some people like to wear them like that" and shrugged it off. They were at the very least five entire inches too long, literally folding over his dress shoes and so big they were sagging down to his knees. She tried to talk him into wearing them as that seemed to be "a style people like." This is a fitted style wedding??? I also had to ask her to *actually measure* his legs when reordering for the length... Only one pair of pants had belt loops. Three of the other groomsmen had to switch pieces of their suits because they were the wrong sizes even after going to get refitted. They all said they had the same awful experience in store, with women that seemingly didn't want to do their job or maybe weren't properly trained. All in all the worst experience I've ever had renting, so unprofessional and belittling. Added SO much unnecessary stress to a wedding, absolutely NOT worth the price you pay. Each time we go to Viper they treat my girls like a princess. Today my daughter got her homecoming dress, as she is on court. Everything is different this year with Covid-19, but they made it pleasant. Hailey was our salesperson. She was very attentive, super sweet and not pushy. She gave her opinion, and made my daughters feel comfortable. I have a nine-year-old, and she let her try on dresses and feel special too! Dalia gave her honest opinion on everything -- which I needed, coming from a wedding gown expert like her! Dalia truly made me feel like a princess, I felt so special. She let me try on an unlimited amount of gowns and was genuinely the kindest hearted person I encountered in this store! The second gown I tried on, I knew was going to be my wedding gown for sure! But we ended up trying on 5-6 other gowns on after just to be 100% certain. Dalia was very patient with me, her assistants were very accommodating in helping her grab any extra items to complete my look. I told the lady it's been years and I've also been in multiple weddings where I've always been the consistent size . they advised me they're a different store and different dress, they go by a chart and this was my size. They consistently reassured me they measured properly and that was based off this designer. As I kept saying ive Always been a 4/6 size is multiple weddings and never the size they wrote down In 9 years. now they are making me repurchase another gown after been told very well they we're incorrect from day 1. I first chose to come to Bridal by Viper because my cousin recommended them, and when I called to ask about how their appointments were running during the pandemic, I felt like I would still get the bridal experience. I went to Bridal by Viper as I had heard they had a good selection of off the rack dresses. My Mom & I went on a Saturday afternoon and had no trouble getting an appointment. We worked with a very helpful consultant and she asked what I was and wasn't looking for. She pulled a few dresses along with any that I selected. When trying on the dresses she helped me get in & out of the dresses, ensured I had undergarments and was helpful in her opinions. It didn't take us long to select a dress and she was helpful in pulling some jewelry to help envision the whole "look". I didn't have any issues with the dress and I thought the prices were good. Certainly not as cheap as a David's Bridal, but having been a bridesmaid with David's before I would pay anything to not have that hassle! I went in here just to look around originally and wow. They have so many options to start off. The store is set up relatively easy to follow too. There's a smaller section in front for bridesmaids dresses and then a huge section of bridal gowns along with different areas with giant mirrors to give the full bridal boutique effect. I gave them my price point and was paired with Amber. Rather quickly I found 3 or so dresses I wanted to try. Amber got me set up in a room and told me she had pulled one to put me in just to see if I liked it. I tried her dress on second and I was BLOWN AWAY. The dress was phenomenal, I felt like a royal bride. The dress was more than I could've dreamed. It's over-the-top and dramatic, just like me ! I said yes to the dress with Amber that day and I couldn't be more excited ! Amber is an absolute doll and I'm so excited to bring my bridesmaids up to pick their dress(es) ! read more

Then Chelsea helped us with our bridesmaids drssses a few weeks later. if you do not know your exact measurements I would not order with this company. My sister is getting married in Michigan and I was not able to get sized for my dress I informed the representative that I wear a size 12 on a daily basis she suggested I order a size 18 I'm like oh no, I will try a 16. So I told her my waist size as I just ordered waist beads so I knew that. she said okay. I get the dress and it fits but the top part was so big I can fit my head on it. pissed went to have it altered in the state I live in... well today is attempt number 2 . So I called the store and asked why didn't they ask for my bra size since I didn't know my measurements she said because she went off my waist size. Well that's dumb. They make dresses they don't fit so you can use their alteration shop and charge you more money. Don't don't care about the service just the money. you would think they would help you make sure you order the best size being they have a non refundable policy. read more

My experience was mediocre when I ordered the dress, but got worse once I decided to have my alterations done there. They do the alterations by the date you need the dress, so I had to wait months after I got my measurements for alterations to even recieve my dress. I ended up getting it just days before I needed it, which was very stressful because I had to drive over and hour just to pick it up. The most disappointing part was that the corset that they added did not have anything to keep the modesty panel up. That means that it repeatedly fell down and exposed my back. The other bridesmaids spent the whole night pulling it back up. It was an extra Hassel that did not need to be there had they done it properly. Also, don't be fooled by their website. Their selection of bridesmaid and mother row bride apparel is very small in store. read more

Awful. I have never written a review, but I felt compelled to do so because of my terrible experience at this facility. I went in with my sister (the bride) and was immediately treated like a bother. We just wanted to look around without too much interference, but the salesgirls were immediately overbearing and pushy. When my sister told one of the ladies that she had not set a date yet, we were treated like a waste of time. I feel that they had the impression that we would not be buying a dress that day and totally dismissed us. We were basically told to come back when we were serious. Well, we went to a neighboring town to a different shop and spent the $1400 there instead, and it was a great experience. I would never recommend this shop to anyone. read more

Rather surprised by all the negative reviews! I came in on a whim with my mother and aunt who had talked me into checking out Bridal gowns here for my upcoming wedding. I live in Chicago (From Saginaw) and was used to the small boutiques there, and I will say that Viper is definitely not one of those places. I did not end up picking a dress here, but was very pleased with Amber, our sales associate. She spent several hours with us and was very honest and not pushy at all. She was super passionate about her job and was extremely personable. She gave me heels to try on dresses with, and quickly picked up on the types of gowns I was looking for. She did not try to put me in dresses she knew I wouldn't like, and was quick to offer me belts and veils as well. She was also full of compliments which made me feel great. Their prices are awesome and the selection is huge, they also have a ton of other formal dresses too. My only negative thoughts on this place are that it really does not have a Bridal Salon feel that most brides are looking for when picking out a dress. The store is drab with dark carpets and really could use some updating. I personally think part of the dress experience is being in a beautiful well-lit salon that has that romantic feel. read more

When i was a freshman, i wanted to get a homecoming dress that nobody else at my school would have, and a friend recommended this place. And, I am SOOO glad she did. Every prom and homecoming every year I get my dresses from this store and the other viper apparel in Bridgeport. They have the best dresses AND most importantly best all time service. Even when i feel discouraged in the dress shopping experience they will help you so much and always make sure my dress shopping experience is superb!! BUYER BEWARE I chose this store as it was the closest to where my mom lives, as I live in Chicago. I had picked out a Mother of the Bride dress online, and wanted to make sure it would fit my mom before buying it. So I wanted her to get properly measured by a bridal shop. I called and spoke with Starla who was quite helpful over the phone. My mom went there to be measured by the "professionals". The dress was a $500 La Femme gown . When the dress came into the store, I scheduled a fitting and drove 5 hours from Chicago in order to make sure everything went ok. It didn't. 1. They couldn't find the dress. They spent 25 minutes looking. What kind of system is this?? 2. Once they located the dress, they wouldn't let my mom try it on until it was paid for in full. I looked at it to make sure it was the right one. But I made the mistake of paying for it without insisting she be able to try it on first. 3. The inept seamstress who measured my mom just a couple weeks earlier needs to find another profession. They ordered the wrong size by 2 sizes. We couldn't even zip the dress up - it was 2-3 inches off. Unbelievable. 4. When I explained they must have improperly measured her, they denied it and said all sales are final. Seriously. That's what they said. 5. Then they looked at the inside seam and tried to convince me there was half an inch on each side to let out. There wasn't. Not even a quarter inch. When I asked how they could let it out that close to the edge she said " you double stitch it". Holy shit! They don't know the first thing about altering clothes, or customer service for that matter. I stopped in to Viper on a whim on my way up north this past weekend. I had a half hour and walked in asking if I could maybe try on a few wedding dresses in that amount of time. Chelsea was my sales associate and she had no problem honoring my request on such short notice. She was quick, efficient, honest and respectful of the short time I had. I then decided to make a formal appointment on my way back home. I was greeted by Chelsea and we immediately went over in more detail what I was looking for. This store has a great selection! I am not the "say yes to the dress by ringing the bell" type and she was so great with that. She was honest and did not try to up sale me on anything. I felt like I was trying on dresses with old friends. I cannot say more great things about her! The other sales associates gave me their opinions as well and a seamstress even came to discuss with me alteration options before I decided to purchase. I felt comfortable to actually said "YES" within two hours. Viper offers payment plans which is a plus. The only thing I would say is sales are final, so make sure you are 100% sure! Again, kudos to these sales associates and especially Chelsea. Keep up the good work and I'm sure people like myself will drive hours to have the same experience I did! read more

I was embarrassed for this business. Poorly run. I am a soon to be bride and I have been looking around at different bridal shops for dresses. I saw this shop and decided to go in. It was nicely set up and laid out with beautiful dresses displayed... The staff on the other hand was a joke. I walked in (without an "appointment") and I wasn't even greeted! Instead I was stared at like some dead rodent on the side of the road. I decided to walk around and look at all the gowns and waited for someone just to greet me to the shop and ask if I needed help or anything. 15 mins passed by and not a single "employee" came up to me. While I was there, I over heard one of the employees on their cell phone. She was very loud and rude and kept telling the other person on the line that "she was coming over to get her drink on because she's had a rough day" as well as some profane words mixed in. There were some other shoppers in there that must have known the employees. They were all too caught up in their conversation to even notice anyone else coming into the shop. The shoppers that "knew" the employees were sitting behind the desk and going in and out of the back room. The employees were texting and just ignoring me as well as other shoppers going in. I know I didn't make an "appointment" for dress trial or a fitting but my god... At least great your customers and make them feel welcome!! I wouldn't go here for my bridal nor would I recommend it to anyone I liked. read more

Terrible customer service. The lady hastily measured me and put me down for a size 6 for my bridesmaid dress. I said that I'm usually a 2 or a 4, but the lady told me she knew how to do her job. Okay, whatever. The dress came in, and as expected, the dress is 2-3x too big and alterations will cost more than the dress. The tailor I went to (because I will never be coming here again) asked if the woman who measured me was blind or if she did this on purpose so they could rip me off. Just to be clear, I didn't lose any weight between buying the dress and the fitting. When I called to complain, the woman said it wasn't her problem and that I measured a size 6. Obviously I didn't if the dress has to be cut in half. read more

I was currently not engaged when this happened, but my boyfriend and I had already discussed there would be a wedding in the next year or so....So I went into the store with every intention of buying a dress and was told unless you are engaged you cannot try on ANY dresses. The sales girl could have been a little more nicer about the situation, but rolled her eyes at me like I was wasting her time. Well, I am now engaged and so is a friend of mine and we both will not be returning to give this store any business. When I first went and tried on my dress I loved my experience with this store, except for a couple of small things..While unlacing my corset, my consultant broke three of the loops. I was told that this would be taken care of during alterations. I also noticed that there was a spot on the back of my dress that looked to be someone elses makeup. I was told that would be taken care of hen the dress was cleaned and steamed. I was fine with that I bought the dress and I also ordered a veil to be shipped to my home because it was on back order. The next day I called and asked when to expect the veil and was told 2 to 3 months. I waited for about 3.5 months and then called again to check on the delivery date. I was told that they had my veil at the store and that they had tried to get in contact with me but had the wrong number. I find that hard to believe since they had two surveys with all of my information filled out, as well as my address and my moms phone number. I had also written a review here( which i have since deleted) The woman on the phone told me that she would sent it out "either today or tomorrow whenever I can get to it." it seemed like a caviler response to me. I called the next day to ask when to expect it and was told Thursday but wasn't given a tracking number I received the package on Friday. I had contacted to shop through this page to inform them that i felt as if they didn't are I was told they would look into it and get back to me when the store opened the next day. I didn't hear back until two days later. When I did hear back i told them that because of the way they handled this I would not be driving the 2 hours to the store to have alterations done on my dress and was disappointed that I now will be responsible for fixing issues that were caused by the store. I was told that they would pay to have my dress shipped to them cleaned, repaired, and returned. I told them that if they couldn't handle shipping a veil i didn't feel confident in sending them my wedding dress. When my veil did finally arrive, the stitching holding the veil to the hair comb was unraveled about halfway and I had to resew it. Since then I have found yet another rip in the material, and even though i have told them to stop emailing me about buying bridesmaid dresses at their shop. Clearly they don't care about customer service or the satisfaction of their customers. read more
