I love this approach to fitness. You get in, you get out, and you move on with your day. Second, the coaches at Char are next level. They are supportive and motivating without annoying the hell out of me even when I'm struggling during a workout. Third, there is a nice sense of community at this gym. Everyone knows everyone else's name. It's like Cheers but with less beer. Fourth, I've only recently returned to in-person workouts and I've been super impressed with the safety precautions. I've been a part of this crazy family since the last one month and I believe, this is one of the best impromptu decisions I've taken in a while (the other being, getting a puppy home instead of coffee one Saturday morning). You can feel the energy of this place even before you enter the parking lot. The coaches are awesome. I have worked with a lot of personal trainers and group class instructors before (me being a Zumba instructor myself, before I put on the extra pounds) and not once have I met such a group of knowledgeable, smart and passionate group of coaches before. Be it Amber, with her zeal to make sure you are getting every movement and technique right; to Katie who is an amazing teacher with her loud voice, music, and enthusiasm; to Drew, who is a fabulous instructor and even better entertainer; to Adam, whose motivation and encouragement inspires you to do better every day and; to the best trio Ricardio, Jenna, and Jeremiah who patiently teach you every move until they are satisfied you got it right. I started with him at a different OTF studio in summer of 2018, currently have him as a personal trainer since May of 2021, and followed him to the Totowa studio where I go periodically in addition to the personal training. I'll start by saying that I've probably tried to write this review 20 times but never felt like I could find the words fit to describe how much this man has helped me. I still don't feel like I can do him justice here but gotta give it my best shot. He is hands down the most inspiring, energizing, optimistic and professional human (yes, not just fitness instructor but of any human overall) with whom I have ever engaged. He is INCREDIBLY good at what he does - both from his own hard work, dedication and discipline for his craft, and because he truly has a gift for elevating everyone around him. He's also brave and proud (hello pivoting from a previous career to follow his dreams in fitness and helping others), and made of integrity. I feel incredibly lucked to have happened upon Coach H by randomly signing up for my preferred time slots without regard to who the instructor was when I first started going to OTF. I was in the worst shape of my life, and sporadically doing lackluster workouts by myself at home was not getting me anywhere. When OTF opened in my city I decided to commit, but that was the type of decision I had made and failed at a million times before. Fast forward a few months and I noticed that I'm less likely to cancel a class if he's the instructor vs. anyone else. He works so hard for you, and you just end up constantly motivated to do the same. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt the variable that's lead to my success this time around, after a lifetime of failed attempts, is Coach H. Absolute best decision, best money I've ever spent. I don't care if you're an elite athlete or haven't worked out once ever - Coach H can meet you where you're at mentally and physically, and make you better than you are. You just better come correct, because he will be wholly dedicated to you and your process. I owe this man my life.

I've tried their heated Barre class and heated Pilates class so far- they kicked my butt but I loved it! You will definitely be proud and sweaty at the end. The studio provided towels, dumbbells, bands, and other equipment as well as the mat. At the end of the heated class they even bring out a cold towel which was very refreshing. The instructors are great and do the workout with you to motivate you- I don't know how they have so much energy!

I've never worked out before and was really unhealthy. Now I look forward to the workout every time. Give yourself a chance and enjoy a free trail to see why you will fall in love with exercising again. Crossfit Nutley is definitely the best gym in the area. Here are some highlights that distinguish them from competitors: * The essential classes- During the essential classes, you will learn all the basic movements that are built to daily workout. You get a lot of attention (essential classes are usually even smaller than regular sessions) and the instructors will get to know your fitness level to help you adjust later exercises once you are with a regular class. * They really focus on your forms- The instructors never, ever stop teaching you and always demonstrate every exercise and will monitor your movements. They will also help adjust the exercise with your level of fitness. They really push you hard but they also monitor the workout to make sure you never put yourself into a dangerous situation. * Small classes, easy parking. Clean facility and equipment- There are always spaces around the gym and parking is never an issue. You have to sign up before the class and the class is capped at 15 people max. This ensures you will have enough room to work out and you will not be stepping on each other. They clean the equipment for almost every class and the floor is mopped clean several times a day. * Cheaper classes, same effeteness as getting your own personal trainer- The basic membership is 3 times a week and the price is the cheapest/hr for this kind of physical training facilities around the area. Because you are working with a group, so you won't wing and complaint about your exercise and you get better effect than working with a personal trainer. * People are just so nice!! Everyone is just super kind. They don't judge you and they are always encouraging. You will definitely be motivated and look forward to every work out.

I wanted to be able to workout, have fun, laugh, hear a kick ass playlist to help motivate my workout once fatigue settles in as well as not be in a studio with a class of zombies or boring folks. The instructors have sense of humors and down to earth. I signed up for a free class and never looked back. They have pushed me to challenge myself physically. Even on the days when I can't feel my arms or my legs feel like Jello, I still return.

Upon arriving you're greeting super friendly by the staff, they make you feel super comfortable. Sign up for what you're looking for (spin, grit classes, etc) and put your things away. The class begins and you're transported into a high energy excursion of physical activity. I tried the spin class with Jon, it was fantastic! I was a beginner and he did a great job and showing me the poses as well as adjusting the height on the bike. I did a 45min class, it was intense but I made it! Keep pushing through and with the instructors motivation you'll make it! Remember to breath! I would definitely come back here, it's great for beginners !
