His other instructor, Kate, has classes that are similar but mix is different: more aerobic and with strength mixed in. What I like is coed group classes are scheduled daily, last 1 hour, and always intense. Sometimes I learn new muscle groups I didn't know I had :) Each day's routine barely repeats from a prior day so never boring. The workout begins with a warmup followed by about 8 exercise routines. Repeat those exercises as many times as you can in 1 hour. Target is about three cycles. I generally complete 1 1/2 - 2 sets. Joe' routines emphasize modest weights with repetition, stretch, balance, and good technique. He spots when a particular exercise is unsuitable for me, and suggests something else without losing the pace of the workout. I value the personal attention in a group setting that keeps cost down. Clientele is mostly female, older Generation Z and Millennials of all ages. Male and female, every age, and all degrees of fitness are welcome. Clientele is generally serious about being there. Gym is clean. And classes start and end on time. You don't make an appointment to be in a class. I recommend Joe and JD Core Training.

I have tried different things throughout the years in a futile attempt to find "THE THING" that was going to make me want to exercise. Well, everything except zumba, because I just couldn't get down like that. On Tuesday, my sister texted me that she bought a Groupon for Ride+Reflect, and asked if I wanted to go. Then we could go for sushi after. I said yes almost entirely for the sushi, and thought of 50 different ways I could feign illness or injury to get out of the first part of the night. Cut to this very moment. It's Thursday night, and not only did I make it through the Wednesday night class, I WENT BACK AGAIN TONIGHT. You read that correctly: I participated a vigorous physical activity for a prolonged period of time two calendar days in a row. UNHEARD OF. This place is rad. The people are so nice, and NOT what I expected them to be. They are welcoming, chill, not intimidating and genuinely seem happy you're there. They don't make you feel like an idiot, even if you are one. The cycling room itself is set up in tiers, so everyone is a little bit staggered and can see the instructor, who is illuminated by a heavenly spotlight in the front center of the room. There is a mirror, but the lights are dim so you don't have to stare at your purple, sweaty face the whole time. I don't know that I could do what I did in a fully lit room, to be honest. It's all about the music and the instructor, really. And both nights were superb on both counts. It was the first time in my very spotty athletic history that I actually gave 100%, not because I felt like someone was watching or forcing me to, but because I WAS MOTIVATED TO! However, you can take the entire thing at your own pace. When I felt like I was going to puke, I just toned it down for a few minutes and then challenged myself again. I have one more class left on my Groupon, and then I'm going to have to figure out a way to get back here regularly -- even if it means saying goodbye to a kidney. Just kidding. Joking aside, thank you, Ride+Reflect, for opening my eyes to a form of exercise that I don't have to pretend to like and suffer through. Truly, thank you.

After being bored of the same thing I got to a point where I was so miserable and out of shape, eating bad and unmotivated. I was so unhappy with myself I didn't know what to do. A friend told me to come to a class and try it out. I was instantly hooked and signed up that day. Since starting in February I have made such progress. I used to not even be able to run down the stairs, even though I could lift heavy weights. I wasn't really in shape like I thought. Now I can run a mile, sprint 400+ meters and I have so much more cardio endurance then I've ever in my life. Every day is different and challenges something new inside you. I was so scared to start something new, something out of my comfort zone. I walked into class and realized it was just a bunch of people like me, all ages , all sizes and even women 9 months pregnant! The coaches are all amazing and help you through everything. They will scale your workout to your best availability's but also see your potential and give you that push you don't have on your own. There are always events going on to keep you motivated and give you a goal. The owner Chris and his wife Christi are amazing! They always help with nutrition and guidance, they are so well educated. Inside this warehouse it is so much more then a gym. This is a home and it comes with a family. The people I get to see every day, work side by side with and even in events out side of the gym have become A family. Everyone is so welcoming and everyone is cheering you on!
