Hi ! I went to take a class on a Saturday st Santokh and I was so excited.. came from New York and Not familiar with Montclair and had trouble finding a parking spot. walked into studio 5 min after class started and was very disappointed when I was not allowed in class .other studios give a 10 min grace What disappointed me even more was the owner at desk response was that it was not their issue that I could not find a spot. In other studios you are given 10 min courtesy especially for an hour class . I have attended Santokh Yoga & Wellness Center for over 3 years and have always enjoyed the classes and instructors. Unfortunately, my most recent interaction with the owner left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. For 3 years, I regularly attended the Tuesday 7:30pm class. Recently, I booked through ClassPass because the owner's package prices had become too expensive for me. The studio actively uses ClassPass for reservations, and I signed up more than 24 hours in advance. I received a call only 1 hour before the class from the owner while I was working and unable to answer. When I arrived, I was greeted by owner INDER with agitation and a cold demeanor and told I could not attend because I had booked through another email (ClassPass), that ClassPass "doesn't pay him". When I asked for clarification (because I still didn't understand), I received conflicting answers. The issue centered around the studio's "multiple accounts" policy, which I found to be vague and inconsistently enforced. The policy states that students must use the same email and account and that multiple accounts are not allowed. However, it does not clearly explain what constitutes a "multiple account." For example, it does not specify whether this applies to a ClassPass account and a studio account, a Wellhub/Gympass account and a studio account, a change of email address, a duplicate profile created by booking software, or using different third-party platforms that the studio itself participates in. The policy also does not explain the consequences of a violation, whether reservations will be canceled, whether students will be denied entry, or how duplicate accounts are identified and addressed. As a long-time student, I was never previously informed that booking through an approved third-party platform could create an issue. First, I was told I could not take the class, then I was told I could, and later I was told I could not attend because I was late. I was ultimately told I was no longer welcome at the studio. The issue is the way the situation was handled, after being a long time customer for 3 years. As a longtime student, I would have appreciated the owner taking a few minutes to speak with me AFTER class and check in with me directly rather than addressing the situation in the manner that he did. Or even with more time BEFORE the class. Instead, the interaction felt confrontational, dismissive, very domineering. and unnecessarily intimidating. Yoga studios should be welcoming environments where students feel respected and supported. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. read more

I love this yoga studio! The space is always spotless, calm, and welcoming, which makes every class feel relaxing the moment I walk in. The owner is incredibly kind and genuinely cares about everyone's experience. I love Emily's classes. They are intense if you want them to be. She makes it clear that you can go at your own pace as well, I always leave feeling refreshed and centered. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a clean, peaceful studio. read more

I came here for the first time on a thursday night. The people at the front desk were really nice and the paperwork was easy to complete. I signed up for a hot yoga sculpt class. It involved incorporating sculpting exercises and yoga poses in a 100 degree tempered room. Our instructor was Emily Levy. She was very encouraging and sweet. This truly felt like an intense workout even though we weren't doing anything crazy. The studio had a nice atmosphere and it was very clean. I would definitely recommend it. read more

I've been here twice so far. I've been once for a Vinyasa non-hot yoga session, and once for an infrared sauna session. The owner is extremely nice and was very welcoming. He gave me a full tour of where everything was, and where to put my items. He showed me all the different studios and the amenities that they offered. The instructor of the class was extremely helpful, and was able to answer questions before and after the class. I came back for an infrared sauna session, and again everything was extremely clean, well-maintained, and easy to find. It was a really great experience and I will definitely be back. read more

This is a very a clean, quality yoga studio, I've been coming here for 6 months and the classes are consistently of high quality. instructors are nice and have good yoga sessions. The man who works at the desk is incredibly rude. Came to the front door to yell at us as we entered. Literally yell. No hello, no smile. Then proceeded to yell at someone else in line. Then gave us legal waiver packets to fill out. Mind you we were rushing to get to class. Asked if we had mats. We said yes but he turned to look as if we were lying! During class I was so upset by his rudeness that I actually cried from the stress. After class we were walking out and he was yelling at someone else!! He saw us and pushed more legal papers our way to sign. It was the same information we filled out online. So I asked if we needed to fill it out. He responded by telling us - "Go. Get out of here. Don't come back. We don't want to see you here. " read more

Fabulous space and community. I recently joined with a monthly unlimited plan. The studio is so inviting that I have been going daily (never thought I'd actually commit to a daily practice after not doing yoga for years). The classes are beginner friendly but also challenging for us who are intermediate level. I have also seen some advanced yogis, which is a nice and inspiring mix . So happy to have found Santokh Yoga in Montclair! The environment, space, and people are unmatched. I've been to a number of Yoga Studios in the area and none are quite like Santokh. The staff is so warm and welcoming. They have a different rooms, both hot and non hot yoga. There is also an infrared sauna in the studio, as well as VERY clean space. You can also sign up for their classes via the Mind and Body app which makes it convenient. I brought my husband along and he loved it as well. We both purchased an unlimited monthly package because we were so pleased. I look forward to continuing my practice here! read more

A beautiful new addition to the Montclair community. I've been waiting for this studio to open since I walked by the space in April 2022 and I wasn't disappointed when I visited recently. I've their non-hot offerings, one on with Noelle and the other with Shivadasi. Both classes were all levels classes and there were beginners through advanced practitioners. As someone who's right in the middle, I enjoyed the classes and was challenged and left feeling invigorated. The studio itself is a large, modern space and everyone I've encountered is warm and welcoming. The owner's passion for the studio and building a sense of community is evident in how he interacts with students. Each time I've visited he's asked for feedback and encouraged interaction among students and teachers. I highly recommend trying a class or two, you won't be disappointed! read more
