First the good - The main painter on the job (Lucio) was a conscientious and hard worker. He…read moreclearly cared about his work and did a good job. (Thank you Lucio). The main problem - Our house has cedar shingles. The rear of the house is painted, the front is stained - and we wanted to keep the staining at the front. We pointed out to their estimator that some of the stained shingles has caulking marks on them - he told us the stain would cover the marks. He was wrong, but we didn't find that out until they'd finished painting the rear of the house. The team did their best to cover the caulking marks with touch up marker - they look ok from the street, but are very obvious close-up. Had the estimator told us that the stain wouldn't cover these marks, we would have had the whole house painted a single color - but in a different color than we chose for just the rear. There were also some smaller problems - - The quote stated that a porta-potty would be provided - it wasn't. Presumably the quoted price included this. - The quote stated that plants would be covered to protect from spraying - the rhododendron bushes in front of my house now have paint-spattered leaves, and look like they might not survive. - Some of the painters who helped out for just small part of the job weren't very careful - two of my path lights were broken (which they tried to hide by balancing the broken lights on their stands), and someone ripped most of the branches off one rhododendron bush instead of tying them back. - A petrol stain was left on our front path where they refueled their pressure washer. I pointed out these issues to the project manager. I'm very disappointed that no-one from the iTech office has contacted me to apologize, and I can only assume that they don't really care. Therefore I would not recommend them.

My home is a county historical home for its architecture - Norman Farm House - and style. It is brick but has extensive trim including wood french style windows. Michael and his crew did a good job prepping the lead painted surfaces and reglazing nearly every pane (we have 42 doors or windows with glass). The final product was excellent. Cudos to Michael and his crew for color selection, extensive prep (had not been painted in 24 years!) and the finished product. For newer painters they did a good job. Watched them learn and grow with experience in both speed and completeness. A little hard on the plantings with covers during the lead paint removal but overall a job well done. Gave them a challenge and Michael rose to it at a reasonable price.

From the initial contact (randomly, via Yelp and based on reviews) to the very end of our job, Robert was available to connect whenever we needed to check in about any details and he always had the right options for our budget and our schedule. I would definitely recommend Arrowhead Painting for anyone looking for an interior painting service. We bought a house and needed the color changed from "realtor taupe" to something a bit more... airy. Robert showed up on time for the estimate appointment and we walked through the options available with his company. He was even willing to break down the bid into various components, so that we could decide if we wanted to do only portions of the work at the present. His bid was competitive but it was his initial customer service that really sealed the deal for us, when comparing with other bids. We ultimately chose Arrowhead Painting to do our main floor walls (open floor plan with an accent wall) as well as our stairway and upstairs hall. Not having to get on a ladder to get the upper reaches of the stairway walls was worth the price alone! We opted not to do the trim at this time, in order to save time and money. And we took on the task of painting the bedrooms ourselves. Robert was able to schedule our job on a very short timeline from when we accepted the bid to when we began the work. We wanted to get the painting done before we moved in. During this time, he was available for communication and worked to find a member of his team to get the job done for us. Right when we needed, painter Adrian was able to come out and do the prep work in an afternoon and then return to do most of the painting the next day. He finished up by mid-day on the third day. Adrian was friendly and conversational and his work was great! He made sure to do all the little things--nooks and crannies, above the cabinets, and all the edges were so clean! Speaking of clean, he left our unmoved-into home looking like no one had been there, it was so clean after his work was done. When it came time to do the walkthrough, he was willing to work with our hectic moving schedule and came back a few hours later. We of course looked all over for any needed touchups, but we needed none. Thank you to Adrian for a wonderful painting experience!

So this review isn't about the finish product, it's more about the estimate experience! During the estimate process, Robert has been excellent from the initial estimate to following up with emails. We had a few companies either didn't bother to follow up with emails/texts, or simply disappear after the initial estimates. Robert was always available for questions and I really appreciate that! Overall, I'd recommend Arrowhead if you are looking for estimate or paint project because of their reliability and responsiveness!

I found Sunshine paintings contact info in the county's listing of lead certified contractors, since I was having trouble finding people on yelp who could safely work on an old house like ours. Samantha was very friendly and helpful during the initial consultation. She helped flags parts of the siding that were in particularly bad shape so we could strategically replace them, and also suggested was to be economical with how we painted. We got a few different bids for this project, and Sunshine PDX was one of the most competitively priced. The painting crew power washed the house and did some scraping during the prep phase. The crew primed the new siding and trim we replaced and then prepped and painted. Finally they did one final pass of touch ups that was quite meticulous! The crew was friendly and easy to communicate with. I had a few questions and noticed a few spots that were painted the wrong color, and they were totally professional and nice about fixing them. I would highly recommend Sunshine PDX!
