I wish I could give 5 stars for the service I received just for myself, but this review is for the…read moreservice of my both my sisters that were with me as well. One of my sisters was getting married and the hair stylist working her hair did an amazing job. Her hair looked better than her original hair trial! Her hair was perfectly curled and the accessories the bride brought were added exactly as she wanted. Her hair lasted the entire wedding perfectly! The stylist who did my hair was perfect for me! She was so friendly and a little chatty which I loved! I had asked for a sleek bridesmaid bun. She took my requests (straight instead of curled, simple and smooth but cute, etc) very well. It was everything I had expected perfectly executed. Amazing customer service as well. The issue where I could not give 5 stars is for my other sister's hair. She was the other bridesmaid and her hair was supposed to be a simple bridesmaid bun with some curls. The stylist (I believe named Alexis) was 15mins late and did a horrible job with her hair. It was loose, messy, and did not look professional. Lots of flyaways - like she didn't use any hairspray or something. Her curls fell flat right away when we got into the car. Picture of her finished hair is attached. I'm not sure what happened- it looked like she just gave up and tried to wrap the last piece of hair around the bun without securing it. We are so disappointed with her experience. To top it off, the stylist was not even friendly. She seemed upset to be working at all. No customer service from her. Unfortunately we were on a timed schedule that we couldn't get it redone.

Being new to St. Louis and having left a great longtime hair stylist in California, I was very…read morehappy to find Amy at Trim. She was friendly, welcoming, and open to ideas. I have medium/long thick hair and she did a great job adding some movement and easy to style layers to my cut. Pretty reasonable pricing at $45/haircut. Amy probably noticed that I had pretty much zero hair product in my hair when I came in so she didn't pile on styling goop during the blowout which I appreciated. Amy also offers people who refer a new client a complimentary hair product--smart word of mouth strategy. The salon is friendly and low key and parking is easy in Kirkwood.

My main concern was having some rookie make me look like more of a doofus than I already am because they didn't possess the skills to make me look like I could pull of an undercut. Anyways, I took the plunge and walked over and asked if there was someone who could give me my fresh new "do" and I was directed to Chris Cross. Not only did he do an awesome job but he basically coached me on how to style my hair so I could actually duplicate what he did on my own. The haircut itself cost $25 which I think is a completely reasonable price for what I'm getting. And I will happily pay it again knowing the service I get when I go there. He shampooed, washed and cut my hair. Plus, he used some cement product. All in all it probably takes at least 30 minutes. I also think $25 is the minimum for a men's hair cut. Pros: - Their business cards have their cell phone numbers on them. - They have a website, which contains their bios. Initially, a major selling point for me. - Extremely nice. - Been able to make appointments a few days out (at least with Chris). Cons: - None so far
