I absolutely love Drybar! If you're looking for a quick refresh to your day this is the place to be! I normally come in and get a scalp massage + liquid glass treatment (best ever!!) and my hair is so smooth, bouncy and shiny!

This was my first time going to this location as I typically go to the Clayton location, but it definitely did not disappoint!! My stylist was amazing and I loved my blowout!

Barley any curl less than an hour after my appointment finished. Very disappointed.

Edit: I went back, spent another hour in the chair getting my hair curled and it fell flat within 20 minutes. Now my hair feels awful (dry and crunchy). Disappointed, and will not be returning for a 3rd time for them to try and fix it. I really would love to rate Drybar Frontenac higher but while I left relatively happy I am overall disappointed. The stylists who worked on my hair were very nice. Unfortunately when I checked in they forgot to include an add on that I had selected online. In addition I had selected the cosmo (which should have been a curly style) and within an hour of leaving my appointment my hair was 85% straight, the curl completely fell flat which is something I've never had happen before. Overall I would not say it was worth the time or money.

I am forever addicted. I love Drybar. The products and treatments are amazing! I've been coming here for a couple months and I've noticed my hair is healthier than usual. The hair isn't the only thing that's great, but the service and the vibe. The ladies at the front and the stylists are wonderful. Definitely recommend

I am what you would call a barfly (aka regular) and I have nothing but good things to say about DryBar St. Louis! I have naturally curly hair which can be tricky to manage. All the stylists I've encountered have done a wonderful job taking my normally curly hair, and making it smooth and refined. When you walk in you are always greeted with a warm welcome, you are offered a beverage and taken back right way. I feel like I've always been taken at my appointment time and have been out within an hour! I'd recommend the St. Louis Dry Bar and hope for more locations!!

My girlfriends and I decided to have a choose your own adventure day that started early in the morning on a Saturday at the dry bar. What a great place to start your morning off with a luxurious shampoo and scalp massage by the best stylists around! The atmosphere even during Covid is warm and inviting and playful and fun! I had a blast getting my hair pampered and curled. We all felt like 1 million bucks when it was all done. I can't think the entire staff there enough for making our day the best- become a barfly member, treat yourself for a luxurious night out, I have your hair washed and styled because you don't feel like it- there's 1 million reasons to go and get a blowout and this is THE place to go! The colorful yellow pops out everywhere- the names and fragrances of the products are excellent and fun. I can't wait to go back!

DryBar - the curls wouldn't hold so they flipped my hair as best as they could with the styling tools

It's rather difficult for me as an African American female to let someone who is not my race touch or do anything to my hair because 98% of the time, hair styling schools DO NOT TEACH students how to specialize in All hair types. So, when I was invited to a YELP Influencers event for DryBar I was excited and apprehensive...so, I called before hand. Luckily, the salon had an African American stylist (Mionni)! The service was wonderful and the salon atmosphere was relaxing. Wine (sparkling & still), various beverages and appetizers were given to us on this particular night. Mionni presented me with a catalog of styles and I saw many I'd like but the styling tools stopped me because they don't get hot enough to hold a curl. The hair products were subpar for my texture and the styling tools do not get hot enough so she did her best with what they gave her. I would definitely not try to shake my hair not try to run my fingers through it because it was rather dry and stiff from the products. They were drying. I left my hair alone for 3 days. See the pictures. Would I go back. No, not until they decide to get better products.

Thank you Lauren for the amazing blowout! Thank you for making me beautiful!

Came here very last minute. Service=5 stars. Make sure to ask for LAUREN as she was incredible! I have very thick, long hair & she shampooed my hair twice, blow dried it in under 45 minutes! I liked the variety of products she used to de-tangle, boost volume, +shine, reduce frizz, and protect my hair from the heat... then even some "gold shimmer" spray at the finish. FYI-Some salons serve cheap wine that tastes like vinegar, but here they had real Rosé & Champagne They refilled my glass even before it was empty & I offered to pay, but it was complimentary. Music and vibes were great. I definitely will be back my next time in St. Louis.

Once again I'm impressed with Drybar. I came to town for a wedding and needed my hair styled. I made a last minute appointment and came in Saturday morning. My stylist was professional and quick! My hair came out lovely. Having thick, curly hair can be intimidating to some, but not this drybar. I was welcomed with open arms and received great care! Highly recommend!

I really wanted to love my experience here because the salon itself is absolutely beautiful, and…read moreevery staff member I interacted with was warm, friendly, and welcoming. Unfortunately, the actual service I received was not what I paid for. I booked and paid $90 specifically for a curly haircut, which is a reasonable price in this area for a true curly specialist service. However, what I received felt more like a standard haircut rather than a curly cut. Before the appointment started, I thoroughly explained what I was hoping to achieve: more curl definition lasting beyond wash day, guidance on styling techniques, and a haircut tailored specifically for curly hair. Despite this, my hair was cut wet rather than dry, and there was no curl-by-curl shaping or specialized curly cutting technique used at all. As the appointment continued, several things made me question the stylist's experience level with curly hair. My stylist, Anna, seemed unprepared for the appointment. While styling, my hair was already drying and becoming frizzy in the front before products were even fully applied, and I had to point out that it needed to be re-wet. She also did not have her own diffuser and had to borrow one from coworkers. I had specifically mentioned that curl creams tend to weigh my hair down, but one was still used during styling. The diffusing process itself was also very uncomfortable, as I was instructed to hang the lower half of my body off the chair so my neck rested against the back of it. By the time my hair was almost fully dry, it honestly looked very similar to how it did when I walked in -- like I had showered, slept on wet hair, and done nothing else to style it. That was extremely disappointing after paying for a professional curly hair service. Anna could tell I was unhappy, and to her credit, she was kind and tried to fix things by washing the product out and attempting a blowout instead. Unfortunately, I still left with poorly styled hair. The face-framing pieces were going in different directions, and the overall result did not look professionally styled. I do want to emphasize that Anna herself was very sweet and pleasant throughout the appointment. However, when charging $90 for a curly haircut, a certain level of expertise and preparation is expected, and I do not feel that level of skill or knowledge was there. When booking, I specifically told the salon owner I was looking for an experienced curly hair specialist. I was told Anna was newer to the salon but had experience with curly hair and many happy clients. I truly hope this experience was just a one-off, but based on the multiple issues throughout the appointment, it did not feel like someone with advanced curly hair knowledge or technique. The owner did initially reach out afterward to try to rectify the situation, which I appreciated. However, after I responded, I unfortunately never heard back again. I had been very excited to come here because I've heard so many wonderful things about the salon, which makes this experience even more disappointing. I truly hope they take this feedback seriously because the salon itself has a great atmosphere and very kind staff.

Great location. Hallie did a wonderful job on my haircut listening to exactly what I wanted.read more

What I left with was a chemical war zone on my scalp and hair that looked like it had been through a haunted car wash. The stylist completely botched my color. It was patchy, uneven, and flat-out fried. I looked like a spaghetti squash that had been left out in the sun. Worse. I went back to give them a chance to fix it and it somehow got even worse. The stylist acted like they had never seen a toner in their life and honestly seemed like they were not in a sober state to be handling bleach or scissors or any other living creature for that matter. I ended up going to another salon just to undo the damage and they were horrified at what had been done to my hair. After spending over six hundred dollars and enduring two appointments from hell, my hair is still damaged beyond repair. Think straw with commitment issues. Do yourself a favor. This spot had great reviews and was literally around the corner so it was worth a try. A little more expensive than my current wax, but my time and energy was worth more than saving a couple dollars. This place is it. It's amazing. Such a cool, welcoming space. So clean. And Meg? She's amazing. Also, she's 100% worth the price because she's so thorough and careful. You really do get what you pay for, and after my appointment with her, the price is MORE than fair for what you get. She was so friendly, so welcoming, and made me feel so comfortable. As someone who has gotten waxed a long time, I can appreciate that, but I can only imagine what it would be like going to her for the first time, probably one of the best experiences! I am surprised that no one has reviewed this place yet. It really is a hidden gem. I went to…read moreSweethead naturals about 9 months ago for a cut, blow dry, and flat iron. At this point I had been natural for a little over 3 years. My hair was not in the best shape and I wanted a little guidance. My experience with hairdressers and natural hair had been awful thus far (check out my previous reviews). I am so glad that I found this place online. I had an appointment with the owner of the salon Lawanda Brooks. When I arrived I was immediately sent to the shampoo area. The woman who did my shampoo and conditioner asked if my hair had already been detangled. I told her that I suck at detangling and really hadn't done a good detangling in 2 years (yeah... I know. I know... ). She was patient and thorough during the process. I was worried that because of the poor condition of my hair and my laziness ( I hate detangling) that she would be ripping my hair through the comb. I am so thankful that this didn't happen. She shampooed and conditioned my hair while it was in sections ( I have a large mane). This allowed her to get rid of all the build up in my hair and slowly go through the detangling process. After the shampoo and conditioning, I met the owner for my cut, blow-dry and flat iron. What impressed me about this process was that no oils were used. I did not want my hair to burn under the hot flat iron and oil (something I think you see too often). Lawanda was great to work with. She answered all my questions, she asked me questions about my hair maintenance, and she gave me great advice. Before cutting my hair she showed me how much she was taking off before proceeding. When she was done, I almost cried. My hair was straight, beautiful, soft, and slick. Exactly what I had hoped for. This was by far one of my best hair salon experiences. It is important to note that this place has their own shampoo and conditioner line. They make everything at the shop. I loved it and bought some on my way out. While I may be leaving St. Louis I do plan on using their online shop to buy more of their products. Check out their website! I highly recommend going to this salon There are a lot of natural hair salons popping up but you need to be careful about who you let do your hair. You went through a long transitioning process or big cut. You finally love your hair texture, don't let an untested natural hairdresser undue all your handwork. You can not go wrong in this salon.

I genuinely held the belief that salons were not for my kind of hair because of this experience. They continually guilted me for my hair texture and implied that my hair was the way it was because I didn't comb my silk press when I came literally 4-6 months later and had washed and restyled it many times before then. From my experience the 3 black stylists from blown away are leaps and bounds gentler, kinder, and more patient. If you have softer curl patterns or are not tender headed this is a great place to go. The hairstyles look good and they can get you in and out fast. If you're anything like me, I would run as fast as I can away. I hate this place.
