I looove Drybar, they never disappoint. For someone with…read moresuper thick hair that can hardly hold a curl, Drybar is my go to salon whenever I have a special event or just wanna feel a little more spruced up. The prices are great & the staff is so lovely. The salon is super clean & overall has a fancy vibe to it, complete with coffee, juice or whatever beverage your heart desires. Writing this after a few times of being there and recommending it to my friends, and definitely not my last time there!

One of my sisters was getting married and the hair stylist working her hair did an amazing job. Her hair looked better than her original hair trial! Her hair was perfectly curled and the accessories the bride brought were added exactly as she wanted. Her hair lasted the entire wedding perfectly! The stylist who did my hair was perfect for me! She was so friendly and a little chatty which I loved! I had asked for a sleek bridesmaid bun. She took my requests (straight instead of curled, simple and smooth but cute, etc) very well. It was everything I had expected perfectly executed. Amazing customer service as well. The issue where I could not give 5 stars is for my other sister's hair. She was the other bridesmaid and her hair was supposed to be a simple bridesmaid bun with some curls. The stylist (I believe named Alexis) was 15mins late and did a horrible job with her hair. It was loose, messy, and did not look professional. Lots of flyaways - like she didn't use any hairspray or something. Her curls fell flat right away when we got into the car. Picture of her finished hair is attached. I'm not sure what happened- it looked like she just gave up and tried to wrap the last piece of hair around the bun without securing it. We are so disappointed with her experience. To top it off, the stylist was not even friendly. She seemed upset to be working at all. No customer service from her. Unfortunately we were on a timed schedule that we couldn't get it redone.

I did not want to leave this review, but after paying $700 and leaving with severely damaged hair,…read moreI feel obligated to warn others about my experience. I went to this salon because a stylist I had been seeing for over a year moved here. She had been maintaining my cherry cola color for about a year, and when she moved to The Boulevard, I told her I wanted to start the process of going back to my natural level 6 brown. I understood that removing red is a process and specifically told her I was completely fine doing it over multiple appointments. I also asked if we could keep the first appointment within a certain timeframe because I had dinner plans, and she agreed. My appointment was scheduled for noon. When I arrived, I sat alone for 30 minutes without being greeted, consulted, or acknowledged by anyone before my stylist finally came over. The appointment ultimately lasted 7 hours, and I had bleach on my hair for approximately 3 hours. When I left, my hair was severely damaged. In fact, my stylist knew it didn't look right because as I was leaving, she told me to "wear a ponytail to dinner." That is not something you say to a client who just spent hundreds of dollars and received a successful service. I have since shown photos from that appointment to other licensed cosmetologists, and multiple have told me the damage was evident as soon as the foils came out. I have always taken excellent care of my hair, use professional products, and have never experienced damage like this. My hair is now rough, difficult to manage, and completely different from how it felt before. I can't run my fingers through it, my natural texture is gone, and it is genuinely unrecognizable to me. I was so upset that I spent the entire weekend crying and had to miss work on Monday. When I called the salon Monday morning, I was told the owner would contact me. I never received a call. When I called back two hours later, the owner suddenly answered. She offered a free treatment if I came in immediately, but the first thing she said to me in person was, "It's not that bad." After spending two days devastated over the condition of my hair, that was incredibly dismissive and upsetting to hear. The owner then told me that the original stylist would perform my next treatment and that I could pay for a new color service. I explained that after what happened, I believed I deserved both a refund and a corrective color service. The stylist refused a refund, and offered the color service for free. I agreed to this, and then stylist put red back on my hair, leaving me looking almost exactly as I did before I started this process, except now my hair is badly damaged and I am out $700. I came to this salon because I trusted my stylist and trusted the salon to guide me through this process responsibly. Instead, I have walked out feeling worse every single time. The most disappointing part is that the owner never apologized, never took accountability, and never made a meaningful attempt to make this right. I wish I had never come here. I am now left paying for the damage done to my hair, and multiple people who have seen the condition of it have told me I should pursue legal action because of how severe the damage is.

I decided to try a new approach, figuring my hair hasn't worked in years, lets see what Jeans suggestions can do, 'what can I lose if it has looked awful for years', was my approach. So basically, I picked the perfect hair stylist to step out of my comfort zone in over 10 years, and my hair has never looked better!!! I am seriously in shock and so is my boyfriend and close friends. My hair has life, health and body all from a gloss color and hair cut. Who would have thought in a minimalist hair situation. Jean is that talented! Because I sat back and listened to Jean's recommendations, I now have hair I didn't think I could have back. I definitely won't be going anywhere else and am extremely lucky to find her within the fish bowl of stylist here in STL. Thank you Jean, Very pleased client

I've really come to trust Jean and actually look forward to my appointments now. She also is such a fun and hilarious person so our appointments are always a great time! When I set the appt I asked for Taryn as that was who I was recommended to. She is a curly specialist and WOW was she knowledgeable. Overall my experience with her was top notch. Taryn gave me an overview of what would happen during the appointing and has a big focus on client education. She walked me through every step and every product. Note: I am sensitive to scents due to having migraines and she was so respectful of this. Taryn had me smell the hairbath and conditioner to make sure it was not too strong before we even started. Taryn told me about the products and how and why you use them including the order and what they do for you. She educated me on how to get your curls looking your best. Overall, if you have curly or wavy hair and want to know how to take care of it and what it could look like at its best - GO HERE NOW! The education alone is worth every dollar!!! Sadly for me I learned 2 things I didn't anticipate: 1) I have a natural swirly in the back of head that will just kinda have a bald spot, its not just the way I style it 2) I was apparently already doing a fairly decent job, though Taryn did take my curls up a notch :)

Pros- decent haircut, super friendly stylist with AMAZING product knowledge. Cons - my haircut and deep condition took over FOUR hours!! She began my apt right before 4pm and I didn't leave till 8:30. While it's clear that Victoria knows curly hair like the back of her hand (and IS the curl care expert), a four hour haircut isn't an awesome sounding time commitment for anyone. I booked a follow up appointment for a few months from now - hopefully this time it won't be so time consuming!
