This is my first experience of going to get my nails during the covid pandemic. The salon met my expectations when it came to safety. They have plastic barriers up between the nail tech and the customer. They were also wiping down the chairs after each client. I was very pleased with that. All the nail techs had gloves and masks on. The nail tech Anna was really good. I was impressed with my pink and white acrylic set. Arrived on time with a rez for a regular mani on Saturday. Waited for tech as she wasn't there. She didn't seem comfortable doing nails. Squeezing my fingers so tight as she worked on them. Decided not to have cuticles cut as although the salon seemed clean i wasn't chancing it. From the filing to the prepping to the polishing nothing went well. Polish on my skin, didn't use hot cloth properly, wiping a finger or two then putting it into a ball. Tipped her well and went on my way never to return. I am honestly very impressed with how my nails turned out. I had initially requested to get French ombré with tips and walked out exactly how I expected it. They're so pretty and very elegant. The owner is Tiffiny who was formerly at Victoria's Nails in Nanuet and she was the best manicurist they had. First and last time trying out Trendy Nail. Normally don't leave Yelp reviews, but my mother and I had such a negative experience here. We had a reservation for gel manis and regular pedis last Saturday (April 2nd). Red flag #1: When we arrived, the nail technician (who turned out to be named Ana) did not greet/welcome us to the salon. Instead, she took a minute or so to acknowledge us and stared confusingly. Red flag #2: Ana told us that she thought the pair of women who arrived together before us was our reservation. Turns out, they double booked us with another pair. There were only 2 employees there when we arrived (who were both attending to the other customers), so we sat down in the waiting area. Red flag #3: After 10 minutes of sitting, I asked her if we should come back later in the day. She replied, "No, I will do your manicures quickly. It's quick." Once Ana finished with a customer, she called me over to start my mani. Red flag #4: She didn't clean the chair/hand rest after the other customer got up. She didn't change her gloves, either. I showed her a photo of the French manicure I was looking to get, and within less than 10 minutes (no joke), she finished my "manicure". My mother was up next, and she again finished her "manicure" within 10 minutes. Needless to say, both of our nails were done poorly, and we had to ask her to fix things, ie clean them better, remove skin from around the cuticle. A few of my nails looked like a 1-week-out mani with gaps between where the polish started and the edge of my nail where the cuticle is. I had to ask her to fill those gaps with polish. Ana also did my pedi. The polish job was so bad (streaks, areas with less polish than others) that I walked over to the nail rack after she put the nail polish away and re-painted another coat on my nails. Where was she while I did this? She sat down on a pedicure chair on her phone for 15+ minutes. Not sure why she rushed through my pedi when she had no other customer to get to after me. My mother had her pedi done by a different employee, who did a really nice job and was very thorough cleaning the nails. Her pedi session lasted twice as long as mine. To top this all off, Ana charged us an extra $10 EACH for the French manicure ombre design she did on our nails. When I asked her why she didn't tell us upfront that this would be an extra $10 charge, she snapped back that we should have known. This woman started arguing with me in front of the other customers. I had told her when she started doing my nails that we had never been there before. The professional and courteous thing to do is to make your customers aware of additional costs before rending services, especially first-timers. She should have been completely clear from the start that the French manicure ombre design would cost extra. We paid $37 each for our 10-minute, terrible "manicures". Poor customer service, poor attitude, poor manicure skills. I would not recommend this place. Save your time, money, and disappointment. Go elsewhere. Photos are of our gel manis 3 days later on April 5th. Already chipping and looking dirty around the cuticles. read more

Not to mention, the nail techs at Trendy Nail Spa maintain a sterile environment, which isn't always the easiest to come by at such an affordable price point! I have relatively high expectations when it comes to the care of my nails, so it's awesome that I can get a well done gel manicure in roughly 45-50 minutes. My cuticles are also extremely delicate and bleed very easily, so I really appreciate it when Anna gently trims my cuticles after moisturizing and warming my hands with a hot towel. Mixed reviews. Tried this place for the first time two weeks ago for a gel manicure and gel pedicure. It was rather pricy $70 with my own gems. The woman did not change her gloves. They did a great job with the designs on my nails no complaints with that. The gel pedicure was not the greatest definitely not worth it. I just came to Trendy Nail Spa for the first time today. First of all its very nice inside which is always a good thing. I go to Lisa, who has been doing my nails for 15 years and she just moved to this salon from one that was very close to me(in NJ), about 10 minutes away. Now I go about 35 minutes but its worth it because I do not trust many people with my nails and Lisa is one of the best. She always listens to what I want and does just that. Very professional. I'm convinced that Rockland county doesn't have any decent nail salons with great snd consistent service, you either encounter poor service, an uncleanly atmosphere or an old establishment.This place was lacking in service and the manicure desks were dirty. As I entered the store I wasn't greeted by anyone only stared at by a woman relaxing in a pedicure chair. As it turns out the woman sitting down worked there but her phone was of more importance to her. At my scheduled time someone did come over and asked me to sit in the pedicure chair. The pedicure was so so and pretty non communicative. After the pedicure she disappeared without saying anything and I was left to wait at another station for my manicure. The same woman who was staring at me and not saying came over with my card to tell me that they don't take Amex. This was after my nails were already drying and I had to go into my bag to retrieve another card for her. One of my nails were ruined as a result of their slow and inefficient service. As you can see the service here is slow and the communication is poor so I won't be returning. Adhering to an appointment time and good service matters to me so this is not the place to get either. Sorry not sorry for expecting basic customer service in a clean and welcoming environment. read more
