It's interesting how all the bad reviews here are from years ago. Something must have changed because we've had mom here several times this year in the nursing home section for palliative hospice respite and from administration down to cleaning staff Bridgewater Park is outstanding. We've used other homes that paled in comparison, and one almost killed her by over medicating her. I highly recommend Bridgewater Park if you want the best care for your loved one. read more

Having worked in the medical field for over 25 years I have to say Bridgewater Park Rehab Center was amazing! My mother ended up here after a fall which broke her femur and had surgery. Not only is it beautiful it is immaculately maintained. It is super cleaned by a friendly staff. The front desk has a warm and kind woman named Linda that always had a smile on her face. In PT my mom had John who was caring and gentle. As for the nursing staff they were wonderful! This is the first time I can honestly say that ALL of the nursing staff actually care about their patients. It is mostly the CNA crew that spend most of the time caring for the patients and they truly did an amazing job. My mother was always checked on, always clean, and always spoken to and treated with respect. Every CNA was wonderful but one especially happened to spend the most time taking care of my mom and her name is Kat. I could not praise her enough. She took care of my mom like she was her own and I will always be grateful for that. Btw, her room was in the 500 hall so if you need to be there request that area. read more

Looks pretty on surface.. care is mediocre.Physical therapy is only 35 min once a day..how does one improve muscle strength in such a short period of time. Meals overall not nutritious.. glazed donut and sausage as a breakfast????!(not by choice). Lunch was generally only meal that was warm enough.Day 6 of occupancy and no shower.. day 4 we asked and were told shower days had changed for him but we had not been notified. Never met case manager.. when she finally called she said she only deals with discharge.. not true according to other professionals . Nursing/assistant staff attitudes overall not great.A pedicure/manicure service is available. Called the person who provides service and scheduled time for later same day to cut nails.. she never showed up or called to say she couldnt make it! DONT EMPLOY PEOPLE WHO DONT SHOW UP!! Have spoken to others that had bad experiences here. DO NOT RECOMMEND! read more

This facility came highly recommended by the nurse and doctor at ORHC...so I was very dismayed that as a post surgery patient, the staff were unable to get my pain medicine for FOUR days! That meant I couldn't participate in PT, it was far too painful...I could barely move, learned quickly that I would wait 30 minutes for help. I lost weight while there because the food was not edible, I had to ask for food to be brought from home. Again, this facility is supposed to be one of the best. It most definitely is not. The only progress I made was with in home PT and nursing. read more

My mother was in the rehab side for two months post surgery for a broken elbow and head injury resulting from a fall. Mom's progress through PT and OT was remarkable. According to the surgeon's office, mom accomplished in 2 months what 40 year olds would in 4 months. We attribute her success to working hard while getting therapy 5 times a week. As outpatient, she would have gotten 3 per week, at most. The CNAs, Stella and Marie, were most caring and helpful doing things for mom that she never had to have help with in her 87 years. But, they made her comfortable with these tasks. A care plan was set in place in the second week, with myself invited to participate. The house doctors were very approachable, one time even calling me back on a Sunday. The only disappointment was the food. Although the dietician tried to help, the meals were hit or miss. Some of the hot dinners being very tasty, while others were cold and tasteless. The chef's soup was always good, cold sandwiches were not. The atmosphere is very lovely. Each private room with their own bathroom including a shower. We enjoyed the courtyards and the lobby for social time with family. We have already recommended this facility to others. read more

This facility is clean and safe for your loved ones. I have had three family members here in 2 years. Marie, Don, ViVi, Lynn, Grace and Richard are names I can remember at the moment and they are all on point with their roles. I wish i was better with names! The OT and PT teams are care centered and safety focused. As the loved one, I felt they are safe and receiving care to get home as soon as possible. The care teams are working hard to provide consistent care even when short staffed due to current employment issues facing the US. If you need short-term rehabilitation and you are willing to put in the work to go home, this facility is a sure bet. The nursing team has always been available to listen and respond. The dietary team hustles! Housekeeping runs a tight ship! The only suggestion I would offer is to provide more communication to the family about the care plan so that we can help reinforce and advocate as a part of the care team support. read more

The appearance is gorgeous, and the people are very friendly. However, after 20 day visit, my mother came home and proceeded to tell me that the night shift told her to pee in her diaper and not bothered to call them to go to the bathroom. Also, I found out she only was showered three times out of 21 days. This is absolutely uncalled for. Total abuse for the elderly. read more

Folks there are two different management teams between the nursing care and the assisted living. They are like night and day. Assisted living is an A+ while the rehabilitation/nursing is. D-. Had my mom in both and I can't tell you how unbelievably disappointed I was in the nursing care. I would drop in different hours of the day and what I would find. Staff hanging out on the benches in the hallway on their phone for the duration of my visit with my mom. Light indicators going off that someone needs assistance with no pausing their break of over 45 minutes. No consistency with meal delivery with no choices whatsoever. Assisted living however, the staff is fantastic. Caring, on top of things, and listen to the resident and family!!!! read more

I had major surgery and decided I would do skilled nursing for help and physical and occasional therapy I have been here 2 days and believe me I am going to everything in my power to be out of by the end of the week if not sooner THIS PLACE IS THE WORST PLACE Go somewhere else. a state run place would probably be better! read more

My mom went to Bridgewater Park Health & Rehabilitation Center after having hip surgery at Marion Community Hospital. They treated her awful there. She would always complain about how she would press the call light button and how they never would respond. She told my dad and I about how the nurses would talk in the hallway to each other about her and say terrible things. One nurse on the night shift would tell my mom you can get out of the bed yourself and intentionally make her upset. My mom would call us on her cellphone and tell us about they were mistreating her and so forth. She was taken from there and back to West Marion Community Hospital on numerous occasions because they neglected her. They would leave her in the bathroom for hours and not respond to the call light and one time she fell and landed, thank God in her wheelchair that was next to her in the bathroom. Nobody was doing their job and monitoring her properly. All they would do was pump her up with pain medication which caused her to become constipated and had to go the hospital around 2.00 am in the morning. They were giving her a heavy diet even though she was constipated for 4 days. I spoke to a male nurse there at Bridgewater at 3.00 am when she was taken to the hospital and he told me that after looking at her chart that she should have been on a stool softener and that she wasn't. This place is horrible and its hard enough to have to visit your mom outside through a window and talk to her on the phone and hear her say how they are treating her so badly and not being able to go into the building because of Covid and give them a piece of your mind. We finally had enough when once again she was rushed to the hospital, not once but twice all in the same early morning hours back once again to Marion Community Hospital. After spending the day there we told them she was in no way going back to Bridgewater and because she was not signed out of Bridgewater they stopped her medicare and we could not get a new prescription for her blood thinner medication which she needed to treat the blood clot in her leg that developed after her hip surgery. I just hope everyone reads this and shares it to expose this facility and their terrible treatment of patients, especially the elderly. Thank God my mom has us to look after her and got her out of there when we did. I truly feel sorry for the elderly patients who are by themselves and have no family to watch over them. This place is absolutely terrible and should be investigated to put a stop to this immediately. I recently talked to a registered nurse in Ocala and he told me unfortunately this goes on all of the time and that I should get my mom out of there right away. He also mentioned that a lot of elderly patients who are exposed to this become depressed and even develop dementia. I am so glad my mom had her cellphone because that was her lifeline. She told us they purposely moved it far away from where she could get to it and even unplugged it from the charger. They hated that we would call the nurses station at 1.00 am and tell them that my mom just called us and that she was waiting to have someone come and get her out of the bathroom and scolded them for not paying any attention to the call light. Their response was they are busy and sometimes they don't see the light. Give me a break, what if a patient fell down or something else happened to them? If anything good comes out of this review it's that people will be aware of how this facility treats patients and to help them avoid what my mom and her family went through! Oh and just because this facility is new and has curb appeal, don't let that fool you one bit. Beyond the exterior and roaming the hallways are some terrible nurses and sad lonely patients in the rooms wishing someone could help them and raise awareness of how they are being treated. read more

My mother was in this facility for rehabilitation and she had an ileostomy. she was mistreated while she was in the facility. I spoke several times with the nursing supervisor and she reassured me that she was going to speak to the staff and that my mother would receive better care and that was never the case. A male nurse abused her while changing the wafer for the ileostomy. Her stoma was bleeding and he was cleaning it, she kept saying that it was burning and he replied good for you. Beware of this facility! Don't put your helpless loved one here. I removed my mother from this rehabilitation center immediately. read more

Bridgewater Park in Ocala Florida. This is happening in our own community. Absolutely disgusting how they treat you when you're trying to visit you dying family. I had to wait 3 weeks to take a class to learn to wash my hands, wear a face shield, a mask and gloves. And then you walk in the hallway to find a nurse nonchalantly standing there with her mask around her wrist. Does Covid not spread from nurses? And then they want to tell you that you can't visit your family because there's cases in the wing they are staying in. I wonder why there's Covid spreading? Perhaps because of irresponsible nurses like this? Listen, I have full respect for medical professionals and all the hard work they are putting in especially through this time. However, Bridgewater has gone above and beyond to make things more difficult. My grandmother is no longer there (thank you God) but there are other people's families in there. And I know they have similar stories. Bridgewater Park - you need to check yourself. 1 star is one too many. read more

In direct relation to the previous post by George S... I CONCUR! The current administrator is arrogant, ego driven and self-centered. She is way over her head, having never managed a senior living facility or has had any professional training in "people skills"! She is mean to the residents that she deems "high maintenance", mocking them or speaks to them condescending tones. She avoids the family members who have complaints - which are many... even blatantly lies and manipulates the truth regarding the sub-standard care that their loved-ones receive at Bridgewater Park ALF. It is common knowledge by all staff and residents that she is absent from the community more than she is present, and her absolute lack of leadership skills is apparent in the morale of the entire staff. There are many alternatives for your loved one in Ocala... for their sake, do your research and stay focused on the people caring for your family, not the bells and whistles of the building. The units may be nice here, but your piece of mind should come first - and you won't have that at Bridgewater Park Assisted Living & Memory Care! Stay Away... at least until TLC Management realizes what a huge mistake they have made by keeping this poor excuse for an administrator around while quality staff members flee, at the expense of their residents! read more

I know this facility is pretty new, it looks really nice, but.....I had knee replacement surgery on 2-8-19 and on the 11th went to Bridgewater park for inpatient rehab. My first physical therapy session the therapist overdid it and my knee swelled up 3 times it's size. After that I could hardly do anything. They consulted their inhouse dr. and he upped my pain meds. This has caused me a lot of problems with my recovery and extra expenses. Also they are not too good at answering call lights, I put my light on and let them know I needed pain meds and I ended up going all night without any, I sat in the recliner in pain all night, in the morning the nurse told me that no one told her I needed it, I could have had it. I was there for 2 weeks, they were trying to push me out by the end of the week but my knee was still so swollen that I couldn't bend it. I will never go back there. My advice is be very careful and make sure they don't overdo the physical therapy right away because it will cause more trouble with your recovery. I ended up needing a manual manipulation because of all of it. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!! read more
