Was referred to "Ten Thousand Doors of January" as the book I was looking for was not in stock, and I'm so glad it wasn't in stock! This was an excellent choice and I absolutely devoured this book. Will pass along to a dear friend so she can have the joy of reading this book. Adorable store! Great prices! Has all my book needs for my children, my husband and myself. Love the rewards program as well and the sweet cat (Luna) that wonders the store! Love, love, love! This was an amazing bookstore! From the displays to the quirky items to the bookstore cat (Luna) - it had everything a book lover could want. I think we were browsing for well over an hour and still had more to see when we finally paid for our purchases and left. I would be here all the time if I lived locally and am jealous the townspeople have such a cool store. They had a great selection of used books at very affordable prices, plus some bargain bin books outside with some silly finds, and, of course, plenty of current books. Lots and lots of books! They also sold things like greeting cards, toys, local items, and knickknacks. Prices were great on everything - nothing seemed marked up for tourists at all. And you have to pet Luna - she is adorable and friendly. read more

Whether you're a local, a tourist, or a longtime summer resident, I definitely recommend stopping in to Bridgton Books! I've been going to Bridgton Books since I was a kid, but only recently did I realize how unique they are- their selection is awesome, the owner can basically figure out what book you should next read based on your likes/dislikes, and they have this funky independent bookstore atmosphere. They also don't pressure you to buy like many bookstores do - which makes me all the happier to go back and continue supporting them. Parking is in the back, where BB has a whole lot. While Main Street is great during the winter, it's quite the squish in the summer. read more

Great little bookstore in the small town of Bridgton, Maine! There's a wide variety of books and I found they're pricier then other bookstores. The staff is very friendly and helpful with any questions. They hosted a Stephen King book signing back in July. They were super quick at processing my information and the event was a success! Got to meet and chat with Stephen King, get a photo and get a brand new book signed by the horror author himself! Refreshments were also served and the line moved smooth. The main reason this is a 3 is because of the used section. It's not in alphabetical order and they aren't kept well at all. The store is small and hard to get around sometimes but nice anyway. The owner of the store knows everything about anything and will help you with anything you could possibly ask for, it's a nice little store and something you should checkout if your in town. read more

A funky, quirky independent bookstore! Located in an old building, the floors are uneven, the furnishings and fixtures are old .... but Bridgton Books has character! The selection is surprisingly broad and updated for such a small-town bookstore. The staff is friendly and helpful ... true "book people". I love this bookstore! During the first months of Covid they did everything they could to help me get books to my mom and to kids in the area who were shut off from libraries and school lending libraries. The owners are knowledgeable, kind and incredibly responsive. They also have great gifts and fabulous !! Cards for all occasions. It's wonderful to have a local, independent bookstore in town. Wonderful bookstore. We have been buying books from Pam and Justin since they opened this store. When we vacation in Bridgton each year, many from the lakeside cottages head for Bridgton Books. Suggestions from Pam and Justin as to what we would enjoy reading, are great. In the spring when our grandchildren are celebrating their birthdays, I call Pam or Justin and have a gift certificate sent to each of them.
