I work with many contractors and know enough about electricity to provide an educated review. My experience started off well. I needed two jobs looked at and was quoted $79 by the girl over the phone to come out and look at each job. If they could fix it right then and if I approved of the price, they would. If not, I would be given an estimate. Worst case, if I didn't care for the company or was not comfortable with the quote, I would only be out $79 for both jobs. Within a minute of the technician showing up, I was told, he would "diagnose" the problem and give me an estimate. If I approved the work, the fee would go towards the job, if not, I would just "owe $245 for today". I expressed my concern that I was quoted $79 and the tech chuckled and said "We can't do anything for $79" He then offered to only charge "minor diagnoses fee" of $135 instead of the normal $245. He was at the first job for maybe 30min and a chunk of that time was writing the estimate. This was for an exterior RV outlet that kept tripping. It was just outside the garage and there was easy access to the panel and he could quickly tell it didn't have enough power for the load. Job 2 - Replace light fixture that had stopped working. He looked at the light and called me to tell me the wrong wire was used in the wall and would need to all be replaced. He also said the outlets were not working. It was a GFI, so I asked if he had pressed the reset. He said he was not going to touch anything until I agreed to the diagnostic fee. He "fixed" my outlets by pressing the reset button. And he explained all the work that would be needed to fix the light, to the tune of $900-1500. When I asked questions, the technician was reluctant to answer. Basic questions that by diagnostic standards, should be answered. I was told he would not check something if he would not be doing the job (even though it was in the scope of the estimate, and I later discovered was not answered because it would have triggered me to question the scope of work and price) and then with the light just hanging, I asked him to just take the light down mark the hot wire with a piece of electrical tape (not wires were white). He initially said he wasn't comfortable doing that because he knew what I was thinking, but that he would go ahead and mark it. I knew at that point the tech had determined there was power to the light, but had withheld that info. I went out to look at the job after the fact and within a minute, determined on my own there was normal electricity flow and a complete circuit, and within 15 minutes I had installed the new light and everything was working just fine. The technician had not marked the hot wire. While I understand Blue Collar, would have done the job differently and could have declined to do the work the way I wanted it done, information was deliberately withheld and I was misled for the sake of making a sale. I should have been given an opportunity to make an informed decision myself and not led to believe it was a bigger issue than it was. After my experience, I called to speak with owner about my concerns and, while the conversation was cordial, he argued that they had done nothing wrong and that he sometimes gets call like mine, but more often not. He also told me I could have just sent the technician away and paid him nothing and that people do that and refuse to even pay the trip charge. "So I should act dishonestly because you do. I agreed to pay the $79, but there was never any intention of just charging $79" This is a known issue and it's not just me. As a "professional", the jobs were very easy to determine the issue and what needed to be done to correct the problems - no "diagnostic" necessary. If he could not determine the issues upfront and needed to delve more into figuring it out, understandably, I would expect an additional diagnostic fee for his time. This was not the case. The technician knew coming out, the price was going to be more than just the $79. This was a clear bait n switch. Furthermore, the owner said he would check into my initial call to determine if I was misinformed or misled. I have not heard back and it has been over a month. This company clearly lacks integrity and does not appear to care about the customer. My take aways 1. They may do good work, but I don't trust them to be honest with the scope or to disclose everything. 2. If you pay for a diagnostic they will withhold even basic information with the excuse that you may hire someone else or try to do it yourself 3. For a master bathroom light and an RV outlet repair, I was quoted $2000 on the low end and $3000 on the high end.

Navigating through the permits and having inspections done is a pain. I waited to find a company to come do my electrical needs because all the other big name companies during the aftermath skyrocketed their prices so I waited. Ben and his crew came out and gave their estimate which is affordable and reasonable. They worked on my schedule including weekend service so I did not have to miss work. When the crew came to my house they were professional and compassionate. My house by any means is not presentable due to DIY construction and house not being sorted they said no worries we understand we are here to help. Ben and his crew are locals, he explained to me that his house was hit by the hurricanes too and understands the recovery process is harsh. He wished I would have contacted earlier and that he did not understand why companies were taking advantage of his community. Locals take care of locals. Thank you to Ben and his crew at Nova Solutions LLC for helping my family get through this with your affordable services, professionalism, and compassion for the community.

But before they gave a quote, the power just came back, they said just gave me whatever you had. Then they charged me 150 dollars because they saw a tesla car parked in my yard even without asking who was this person coming. He was encouraged to pay by the guy without knowing anything. I called to request refund but they refused and threatened to give a lien to me. I called the police about this. It was an unauthorized work, they cannot charge me without a quote or consent. I messaged to the guy reasoning a week ago. No response, so here is the bad review. Will complain everywhere I could.

Do not hire BOLT Electric. They did a very sloppy job,…read moreovercharged us, and treated us poorly. We (my mom in her 80s, my special needs brother, and myself) hired BOLT in March of 2025. We suffered damage to our home due to Hurricane Helene. The electric was not damaged, but our home's electric was from the 60s, and BOLT said we needed a whole-home rewire. We were desperate to get construction started and get permits approved. Our first mistake was not getting a second option or estimate. Later, we discovered that they overcharged us by 20 to 30 thousand dollars according to industry-standard pricing. They allowed a new electrician at their company to handle our project with no oversight; he was not an Ace at his job. BOLT removed electric outlets in several places in the home and did not replace them. BOLT left an outlet in the bathroom with the old wiring in the wall and just put a plate over it to "make it go away". All light switches and outlets in our home are at random heights. Here is the worst example. There were no outlets or switches on this wall (next to the sink) before they started. The project manager pointed out at our initial meeting that the conduit running along the wall in front of our home was unseemly, and he does not do things like that. After they completed their work, we have conduit running to our porch lights because BOLT took out the old electric lines and did not replace them, and this was their fix. BOLT stepped on an air conditioning line in the attic, told no one, blamed it on condensation. We had to have our garage ceiling fixed. BOLT crushed the ductwork in the attic, and we had to have it all replaced. The electrician we hired to clean up Bolt's mess told us the outlets they used were not appropriate and we had to have several replaced as well as drywall and painting done. BOLT installed the hood vent wiring off-center. BOLT broke one of our new kitchen cabinets installing the stove. BOLT refused to install the dishwasher; "it was the contractor's problem". BOLT also treated my contractor horribly. My belief is that they had an issue with their ethnicity. Any issue we had with the finishes in the home was treated as our fault or we should have known to communicate the problems they created to the contractor. BOLT refused to speak to the contractor about construction requirements in the kitchen; my 80-year-old mother was used as a go-between them though all three of them were in the house at the same time. We moved back into our home in December 2025, though it was still under construction. We could not afford renting anymore. We told BOLT we were moving home. BOLT chose not to turn on the breaker for the hot water heater. We were concerned about touching the panel as it was horribly mislabeled, and the house was still a construction zone. It took BOLT several attempts to label the electric panel correctly. They priced gouged us, costing us $ 15,574.99 plus to fix their mistakes. We thought speaking to the owner, Patrick, would finally get them to do the right thing but after several requests for a meeting, we were finally told by BOLT's office staff that he has nothing to do with the running of the company. He just poses in sunglasses with his chin up holding his jacket for the website. This leaves his staff to do whatever awful things they want to do to the public. They waited for the electric inspection to pass (it took 2 attempts) and then we were ghosted. I believe they saw a widow and her family suffering a devastating loss from a natural disaster as a way to do a cheap job for money. My mom has been hospitalized several times due to the stress this whole situation has caused our family. Do not hire this BOLT; they will not be honest; they will blame you whenever they can. We did try mediation, but the person "in charge" does not like confrontation, as explained by the office staff; that is why he ran out of the meeting after less than 5 minutes.
