I cannot believe how unprofessional this company is. It's ASTOUNDING. I have used them before to install a 50amp circuit for my Tesla. They were fantastic then. Not now. My wife scheduled an appointment with them at my suggestion. Date set. My wife calls them on 4 days ahead of the appointment to confirm, and the moron on the other end of the phone states she can't find it. Long story short, as she is making another appointment, they find the details. This morning, my wife got a call that went to her messages. She saw it about an hour later, and it instructed her to call the number and say "yes" to confirm the appt (even though she already had). Well, the lady at the other end said he would be there in an hour. He never came. When my wife calls back, THE VERY SAME WOMAN told her that my wife hadn't bothered to confirm the appointment, and he wouldn't show up. My wife asked her how she would rate her customer service (in a very polite tone). The woman kept skirting the question until she HUNG UP ON MY WIFE. What in the Holy Hell is wrong with you? This isn't a way to run a company. So, you've lost our business forever. And I hope that all of you see this review before you call these idiots. read more

They were recommended to me. They showed up in a timely fashion but at the end of their stay (less than an hour) they said they did not know what the problem was and charged me $135. I have had some intermittent issues with a couple of breakers tripping. And one outlet was totally dead. They said that outlet was fine but re-wired it in case wires were loose. But as for the other breakers, which will trip with little reason, they called that "nuisance" outages and said there was nothing they could do. I would not recommend these electricians as I still have the problems that I had before they came. read more

Scott came to my Home to provide an estimate on running new outside wiring into the electrical box. Upon his arrival he discovered an electrical short that burnt the microwave and stove. He made sure all power was turned off and that we and our home were safe. He immediately began putting a crew together to dig and bury new lines to run from the outside pedestal through the yard into the electrical box inside our home. On the cuff, he made all this happen within a 5 hour window...restoring all of our power that evening. Scott was genuinely concerned about our safety and well being, He is also sending staff out to test our entire electrical system to ensure there is no additional damage. I waited 4 weeks for an estimate, Bobby comes out after calling that AM, "do you still need a quote", after I had confirmed the afternoon before. He shows up, barely looks at the job, doesn't leave me with a written quote, "let us know if we can help you with your permit". I go to the City find out what is needed, call DE back to speak with Bobby, he was supposed to call the following AM before he went out for the day. He never called, waited 4 days. Called again, asked for the written quote that he should have had recorded after being out here, "Oh, we have the square footage, we will email it to you!" Seven weeks later they never called, they never sent the quote, nothing. They never did squat to help me with anything to get what I needed to get a permit for the work to be done. Why take the appt initially? Just say you aren't taking any disaster recovery work! Don't lie to people like you are interested in helping them. They used to be outstanding and very service oriented, no more.....they suck now!! I would give them negative stars if I could! read more

I noticed that the light switch and vent fan switches in the bathroom often had to be "jiggled" before they worked. I wasn't entirely surprised. My house is about 50 years old, the switches were probably installed when the house was built, and switches don't last forever, so I stopped and picked up replacement switches. After being a homeowner for 45 years, I have a basic knowledge of electricity and have installed switches, ceiling fans, light fixtures and other electrical appliances. I removed the old switches and discovered that I was out of my depth. Someone had modified the switches and DIDN'T GROUND THE SWITCHES. Bad idea in a wet area like a bathroom! I called the pros. I received an appointment in a timely manner, the technician was on-time, friendly and courteous, and the work was done quickly and at what I thought was a reasonable price. read more

One of their techs, Ryan, stopped to help me when I was involved in a car accident recently (he was the car in front of mine). He helped both myself and the driver in the car that hit me, to get off the road safely - and then stayed with us for about an hour until the Florida Highway Patrol arrived. Our HOA needed an outside panel replaced. We obtained three estimates, and decided on Dunedin Electric (even though they weren't the lowest bid) - the estimate was very thorough. They were workmanlike in the performance of the replacement, responsive to inquiries, and very fair in pricing some additional work that needed to be done, that couldn't be known at the time of the estimate. Be careful they charged me 3 hours labor on 1:29 work. Arrived at 2:18 and finished at 3:47. Tech told me "We charge for the driving time to get to you and also round up on any hour. Bottom line $270 labor charge for 1:29 worth of work. When I complained he then lowered it to $225; still a $45 charge for driving time. Called office person who answered the phone told me a manager will call you tomorrow and hung up. No response today. This is a honest and factual account. $90 and hour for 1.5 hours of work even rounded up to 2 hours is $180 which still leaves a $45 charge for what; driving? What a joke....BE CAREFUL as they are charging you for driving...This is not the techs fault this is the owners issue...not the techs fault. read more

We had a circuit out in our home, guy came and told us we needed an entire re-wiring of our electric lines but could fix the problem for now. Charged us $141.00 for the fix and two weeks later it went out again. Another guy came and charged us another $95 to fix part of the problem but we still have one light and ceiling fan not working. So now that we decided to upgrade to a high efficiency washer and dryer we found out our breaker box couldn't handle it so I had to bite the bullet and upgrade my panel box. These guys gave me a great price and even refunded the money I spent prior on a new breaker, even though it was way more then 30 days out. The workers showed up on time and went right to it. They worked well with the plumber I had there at the same time even though they had very limited space. The job was said to take all day (do you know how hard it is to go ALL day without any electric?!) but luckily it only took about 3 hours, which made us all glad because it was the Friday before Christmas! They cleaned up after themselves, went over all the papework with me, and were really a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend these guys! read more

We recently had electrical issues with our appliances and the lights over the weekend. Normally we would call Dunedin Electric but noticed on Google that they weren't open. Unfortunately, we called another company that was open 24/7. The technician came and wasn't very good considering that he left and then had to come back the next day because parts of house, the wifi and some lights weren't working. Apparently, he didn't turn on all breaker switches before he departed. But the worse part was trying to convince us that we needed to replace the electrical panel, saying it was old and unsafe. That would have cost over $4,000. He was very pushy, trying to get us to do it and wanted us to give him a $1,000 deposit upfront. Feeling this was a red flag, we ended up getting a second opinion from Dunedin Electric on Monday. Tom the Technician came and noticed some of the electrical work from the other technician was subpar. He redid the repairs but his next part is where he shined. Tom said the electrical panel didn't needed replacing. In fact he said he has the same one at home and they are good quality panels. So thank you Tom and Dunedin Electric for being professional and most importantly, honest. read more

I called Dunedin Electric because I needed 2 ceiling fans installed. This included removing old ones. The woman who answered my call said they could provide the service and she'd call me right back. She never called back so I called again the next day and she couldn't find my information so I told her once again what service I was requesting. Once again she said she'd call right back - never did. I'm not happy so will call someone else. If they didn't want to do this why not just tell me! Unfortunate because I was hoping to find an electrician I could call on for all work I need at my home. It definitely won't be Dunedin Electric!! read more

HORRIBLE service! ZERO STARS if I could. totally disappointing experience! We heard great things about this company, so thought we'd give them a try for our electrical service upgrade. They scheduled for early in the morning (between 9-11) last week and never showed up! I waited around all morning and was told when I called to follow up that the estimator, Dan, had called me (from an unknown number) but since I didn't answer my phone he said they don't come out unless they speak with the owner first to reconfirm the appointment. The scheduler, Charlotte, never advised me of this policy, so I did not know to look for a call. I rescheduled the appointment for the following Monday (today) for between 1-3 PM. I have a very busy schedule, but I waited around for Dan to arrive. This time I had his number saved in my phone and was able to answer his "pre-appointment" call. We confirmed that he would be "arriving soon". I waited around, and kept checking for him. By 2:30 I was now down in my backyard, doing work. I texted Dan to let him know to come around back when he arrived. He texted me back that he had already been to my home and had left an estimate on my front door upstairs. I couldn't figure out how that was possible, since I was home ALL DAY, waiting on him. Despite having a 2-story home, our doorbell rings both upstairs and downstairs so no matter where I am, I can here it. It had never rang, so I couldn't figure out how I missed him-again! I went upstairs and there was no quote on the front door. I immediately texted him to return and attempted 2 phone calls to his number. My messages were unanswered. I called the office, SW (receptionist?), who promptly cut off a now very frustrated client, placed me on hold and then Charlotte, the scheduler, picked up. Turns out SHE had entered my address incorrectly for the appointment and Dan had gone somewhere over in Tarpon Springs, to a completely different area! She placed me on hold (to reach Dan, I assume). When she came back on the line she couldn't hear me, despite my continually telling her I was on the phone. She hung up, called me back, then informed me that Dan was "too busy" to swing back by this afternoon. She said they could reschedule me (for a 2nd time, 3rd appt in total) for tomorrow between (hours). I was pretty furious by this time, and told her that was not acceptable since I had now waited around not once, but twice for their estimator and I was busy the rest of the week. She said there was just no way they could make it back out to assist me (today). I told her I would take my business elsewhere and she said that would be fine. read more
