Most disappointing experience. I am a woman and went to Bright Bay Mazda by myself to purchase a new car. We mutually agreed upon a price and then the management tried to get away with a higher price by putting the higher price on my invoice. I was very fortunate that I noticed it and demanded my money back. Had I not saw their shady transaction, I would have been cheated out of $400.00. They tried taken advantage of a woman. Beware of this shady dealership and always go over your invoice thoroughly. I learned a lesson! Long and short of it is Dominick and this dealership (with the exception of the service department) are SO beyond disappointing. My MKX was overpriced when I bought it (my mistake, I admit) but then in January the light went off, and five months later -with several back and forth trips to the dealership) I got my car back. What an ordeal. I reached out to Dominick during my frustration to see if we could make a change. He said he'd get back to me ASAP but never did. Not cool, especially when he told me that he goes above and beyond for his customers when I bought the car. Then came this past week. I went in again to get into a lease and trade in the MKX. Again, Dominick said he'd get back to me promptly. Well, a week goes by and nothing. Then he calls thinking that I was still interested in hearing from him. We cannot say enough amazing things about the GM Kevin Lazar, salesperson James and the rest of the team. Kevin helped us out of a really tough lease situation where we were way over miles. He went above and beyond to do the best job he could for us and saved us a lot of money and got us into a better lease than before. I'd really like to give a 3.5 rating, as I enjoyed working with Chris Lico. He was courteous, answered all my questions and helped us through the process. We bought a certified Mazda CX-5 at the end of the summer which we love (though the battery just died after not running the car for a week!), and the dip in stars is really due to our interaction with the financial rep and everything that occurred after we signed the papers. The financial rep that we met with on the weekend seemed upset that we didn't sign up for an extended warranty, and seemed annoyed when I asked financial questions about this very large purchase we were about to make (I've lived in Manhattan for years and have never purchased a car before). We had to ask him about the duration/payment costs as he was essentially making decisions for us and not providing guidance...I guess also shame on me for not doing better research on how to buy a car. We didn't know who our loan was with until we got a loan payment, and while we were still there he also seemed irritated that we wouldn't sign a blank DMV form and wanted to wait for it to be filled out, which needed to happen next door Mon-Fri. Fine with us, we'll come back but not everyone is comfortable signing paperwork that hasn't been filled out, and I didn't appreciate his pushiness. I also assumed a nearly new car would still have 2 keys, but we were only given one (car is automatic start so it wasn't just a bare key that we would have to copy). After speaking with Chris about a week or so after taking the car home, he did help us out which was great. Overall, experience was ok, and I learned some valuable lessons about buying a car. read more

Brought in my wife's Mazda 6 3 issues oil change,Brake noise and noise in front end. When I got car back brakes still noisy and front end noise still there. Spoke to mechanic and I use that term loosely. He tells me he rotated the tires and added shims to brakes. When I asked why the back rims were clean and the fronts had the brake dust on them he told me they were hub caps. Really! There aluminum rims. I ended up having to do the brakes myself because all they did was spray stop squeak on calipers and the pads were visibly worn. At least the oil change went ok. read more

I was contiplating trading in my Mercury Grand Marquis for a Mazda 6 for fuel economy. They couldn't seem to locate the basic model used car and tried to push the leather and gps I didn't want. Bright Bay Lincoln (the sister company) keep sending me letters of how they wanted to buy my Mercury Grand Marquis. After Mazda looked at my car they offered me $1,000 for a trade in. While they where looking at my car my salesman was having a personal phone call in front of me. They told me they found a Mazda 6 with no navigation or leather that cost more. Online their price for a Mazda 6 seemed higher than other dealers. I feel when the time comes to buy a car a couple of years old I would do better at a used car dealer rather then Mazda, Nissan, Honda etc. read more

Best car buying experience I've ever had! John was great to work with, and I was in & out quickly with exactly what I wanted.

Bright Bay Mazda didn't give us the best deal but they were to the point, gave us what they thought the best offer was and didn't make us go back and forth to make negotiations. We were having difficulty understanding the two different leasing options, the numbers just weren't adding up so the financial guy came out and thoroughly explained everything to us. There was a little frustration after leaving the dealership. I had called a day later to get in touch with the salesman I was working with to see if he had a particular car in stock. I called and asked to be connected to his line, but instead was connected to someone else's desk. I called a second time and clarified whose desk I needed to reach and a second time I was again connected to the same wrong salesman's desk. I thought I would make one final attempt to try and reach my guy really hoping he had the car I wanted so we could possibly move forward and for a third time I was connected with the wrong guys line. I received one follow up call the day of, seeing how my search was going but overall the salesmen were very hands off, which I appreciated because there's nothing worse than having someone call your cell every five minutes trying to seal the deal. Purchasing a car is a stressful thing and for most, a decision cannot be made in a hour. I appreciate Bright Bay Mazda giving me the space that I needed to think, but again, wished I was connected to the right guy when I had an inquiry. read more

What a horrible experience stay far far away from this dealer quoted one price drove all the way there from 1 hour away to tell me they can't do that price after speaking with them in the phone several times had the proof of the price on my voicemail that was left to me by the salesmen and for the manager Kevin to tell me when I get there he can't do that price below cost not a good business move this dealer should re evaluate there management and i mean real quick before that business shuts down with everything being online and many dealerships out there.. Terrible car experience!!! They don't stand by their quotes!!!! I went into this dealership looking for a CX5 and was given a price by salesman Chris Lico. His manager then gave me a fair trade-in appraisal for my car. I spoke with Chris several times that week to make sure no other fees would be added and to verify the numbers he had given me. Chris repeatedly verified. When I went back in a few days later to finalize the deal, another manager came by with Chris and they increased the price of the car and the decreased the value of the trade-in. When we confronted them with this information Chris first tried to deny it, then admitted that he had repeatedly reconfirmed my numbers during the week. They wouldn't honor their numbers and then asked us to leave. I would NEVER shop here again. Tricksters and foolers. read more

I would give them zero if this was an option. The service used to be great, but just like everything with this dealership, everything has gone downhill. The technicians remain solid, it is the customer service that is severely lacking. Just yesterday, I was overcharged on service ($400 for work that is $150-$190 everywhere else) that I was never given an estimate for and I was never called to tell that the work was needed. On top of that the used car manager, that is right the manager, threatened me telling me that he would show who was a tough guy and a man. The new service person at the desk seems to care a lot less than the previous service desk people. The holdovers from years ago seem to understand customer service, the new additions are horrible. I was ready to buy another Mazda, I will never buy one from this dealership and I recommend if you do, to find an alternative service station. read more

Went in to test drive one of their used cars, not a mazda.. the salesperson crashed the car with myself and daughter in the car!!! You just can not make this up!! Upon returning to lot the general sales manager, Kevin Lazar as well the service manager came to assess the damage. Quarter panel, 2 rims, rocker panel all damaged on passenger side!!! Although not a deal breaker bc the car's engine fine, still annoying. I requested in light of situation to deal only with sales manager, Kevin said no problem and we agreed on a sales price contingent upon all the work being done to fix car. I rec'd a call when car was done and went into dealership, I spoke with kevin who let me know ahead of time I could deal with other manager, David as he would be in a conference. Upon arrival at dealership, although body work was completed I noticed both rims were not. I asked to speak to David, who was aware of situation. His first words to me were, "why do you need to deal with me?" He was rude, defensive and had a ridiculous false sense of importance. When I explained to him why I wanted to deal with a manager, He said , "well if you dont want to buy the car, don't" I never said that, why he was defensive is beyond me. Both my husband and myself have dealt with Car Sales Managers before, we have never been treated this rudely as we were by David, I then told him that we had agreed on a price with Kevin, and when I told him the price, he said he could not sell the car for that, I reiterated that Kevin and I agreed on price, He excused himself and asked Kevin , who did confirm the price. He also told me that the rims would NOT be fixed as promised due to the accident caused by the dealership. I then spoke with Kevin, who was very professional, pleasant but did tell me he was sorry and although he did say the car would be fixed, the owner changed his mind. Buying cars throughout my life has usually been a very straightfoward process, in fact one of my suv's volvo xc90. I bought over the phone, and picked it up a week later. Everything with this dealer was a battle, They acted like they were doing me a favor. Horrible upper management with regard to DAvid, and quite frankly on top of this their dealer prep fee's which are highly unethical anyway they were unwilling to fix the rims on a car they said they would fix because, "they already spent too much to fix it" I would never buy a mazda anyway, however I would never deal with such a unethical dealership. There are many choices out there and Bright Bay should be on the DO NOT USE list. read more
