They were very independent, very organized, very receptive group of mechanics and staff. When we first started going here they were the best I had thought. But after a while the dad retired, son took over, got married had a baby, bought a house and then prices went up considerably. Being retired living on a SS and a small pension I had no alternative to find somebody else. But all of this doesn't mean they were not good they are but just too expensive for my budget. If you're in and around Deer Park and you are not in a tight budget, they are very good mechanics. BTW they give you a ride home and or to work and will pick you up when they are done. read more

I took my vehicle in today, Tuesday for an oil change and a problem with my low beam headlight. Peter at the front desk was very professional and took my information. I left my car there, and in about an hour he got back to me about the work needed to be done, as well as other things they recommended to be done in the future from other diagnostic checks. I am fairly new resident that live close to the shop and is in need of a reliable auto repair/maintenance shop. I found the business from Yelp and I've also called different shops around the area to compare. I am now a customer of theirs for almost 2 years now. The owner joe who is an grumpy old man was very rude and nasty!! Told his worker to make me wait!! The work is shoddy, and they are not nice people especially the old man owner. Every time i bring my car in for an inspection it ALWAYS has something wrong to the point they cant finish the inspection... if u have any other auto repair options GO there! I am a navy veteran and I recently have moved into the deer park area. It's hard finding an auto repair shop that you can trust while you are away. I've had bad experiences with other shops but joe and his workers is the best experience I ever had in my life including other states where I had been stationed at. They even picked me up from my house so I can pick up my car. They didn't try to upsell me any job and was transparent throughout the whole process. I highly recommend them even if you live afar. I went to multiple different car mechanics and have had horrible experiences with all of them (including having a courtesy driver hit on me, grope me, and take my phone number from the paperwork and contact me). This is the best auto repair shop on Long Island! They fixed a very jacked up alignment, replaced two tires, and once I got my repairs done they gave me a list of things to repair next, in order of importance. I would not recommend this place at all!!....First they seem to be upfront and honest guys, but the second or third visit they revert to their true selves....I was having extreme financial problems, and I had just had them do a huge job on my car( I paid them in cash, and this guy laid out all the money on his desk like he was in utter joy while he counted it)...they refused to any type of a payment plan or reduction on the next job...saying what they offered me was a good deal.... I went to another place which not only did the job great but they gave me a discounted rate and were willing to work with my financial situation.... To prove what I am saying, I am constantly bombarded with flyers, and e-mails from this place to try and get me to return... I've even sent numerous requests to stop contacting me and they still continue...if they're doing such great business why would they constantly pursue my business... I recently brought my truck to Joe Riscica's based on great recommendations from others. Boy, they weren't lying! Spotless shop and a very clean waiting area. I was promptly greeted Joe Jr, asked a few questions, offered a ride if I needed one, and I was on my way. John H. was the technician who took care of my 2014 Jeep Wrangler. He took care of my alignment, NYS inspection, tire rotation and an oil change. He was certainly a bright young man with a great attitude and a happy and friendly face. I was called a few short ours later and informed that my truck was ready to be picked up. Pete handed over the car to me and went over every charge on the bill in detail. All the work on the truck was done properly and according to manufacturer specifications. Joe Riscica was also there when I picked up my truck. The experience was as good as it gets. The day before my visit to Joe Riscica's Auto Repair I was driving around locally to find a place to get my required NYS inspection (safety/emmissions). I stopped at two places and got a run around as to whether they can do the inspection that day. Frustrated, I decided to try one more place and came upon Joe Riscica's shop. Looked clean and orderly (very important to me especially since my car is only a year old, quite new). Joe was working at the counter and I asked if I can make an appointment for inspection in the morning. I showed up for my sppointment timely, my car was checked in and attended to promptly. Waiting area has free Wi-Fi (nice strong signal) and is very clean. They even have a Keurig coffee machine, although I did not imbibe. I was very happy with the prompt and courteous service and would recommend checking this place out if you're in the Deer Park/N. Babylon area. read more

This was my first visit to Riscica's, after using the same mechanic for nearly 25yrs. At the advice of a close friend, I drove 45 miles to the shop, for what I knew was going to be a pretty big job (F/R Suspension and Brakes, struts, oil change, and 4 new tires, as well as their safety check). ALL of the staff (Pete, Matt, and John to be specific) that I dealt with were UNBELIEVABLY polite, helpful, knowledgable, and professional. The shop was IMMACULATE, and state of the art. At one point Joe Riscica came into the waiting room, greeted everyone with a smile, and asked how everyone's day was going. I purchased a Fiat 500 in Florida 8 yrs. ago. When I moved to Long Island NY recently the only dealership I found was quite a distance Westbury Fiat. When I called to make an appointment for service I was told if I did not buy the car from them they could not service it how ridiculous you are still getting paid for the job! That's okay because I found a TOP NOTCH auto repair service in Bayshore, so in reality they did me a favor! I've gone there twice and was very pleased with the work they performed! They were quick and ACCURATE!!! Not only that I even received a Christmas card with a scratch off lottery ticket that was so thoughtful. I have finally found a place I feel comfortable taking my car. I've gone to a few other shops in the area since I moved here, but I really felt like I was getting ripped off. I felt totally different here. It was like taking my car to a longtime friend. They were upfront and honest about the cost of the job and, even though there was a snowstorm that day, they took my car in without a pre-scheduled appointment and they drove me home and picked me up so I didn't have to wait for the car in the shop! Who does that?! They also called the Toyota dealer for me and found that the problem was covered under warranty. They wouldn't take anything for their trouble.
