Over pricing on used car inventories, then refused to negotiate, in fact when the final cost czme out I reversed the calculstions and the price came out in excess of the advertidedm' price,'. The sales person was powerless and had to run back to his :"manager' with any offer I made, The manger failed to show his face to speak directly to me. Had there been any flexibility I would likely have bought the car but it was creepy as it was it was off putting how the "manager' HID while giving the sales person the dirty job of trying to convey the offers, coming out from the managers office like dog with its tail between its legs. I purchased a 2024 Lexus NX hybrid on October 3, 2023 from Lexus of Smithtown for $62,160.76 ($2500 OVER MSRP). From the very first time I filled the car with gas, I noticed the gas gauge does not respond correctly. Sometimes the gas gauge goes to 3/4 when full; at others it does not respond at all or may respond two or three days later. At present the car is completely full of gas and registers as 3/4 fill. I have brought the car back to Lexus three times now, and they insist, "There are no abnormal conditions present with this vehicle." I posted my problem on Lexus forums and received this response: "Unable to repair" actually means "don't want to repair". The NX service manual,which all dealers have access to online, provides a simple 3-step process to determine what component is at fault. This is not rocket science; the NX fuel level measurement technology dates back to the 1930s, so more than 80 years old. Refer to attached image copied from the non-hybrid model manual. After running the 3-step diagnostic, there will be one of these 3 repair options suggested: 1. Replace the fuel sender assembly; 2. Replace the instrument gauge cluster (called "combination meter" by Lexus); 3. Repair the wiring harness or connector(s) between the sender and gauge. NONE of these solutions (which apparently are all quite involved) has been done. I am a repeat customer of Lexus of Smithtown and have driven Lexus cars for many years. I could not be more disappointed with this dealership and with their lack in repairing this issue. 1/29/2024 - JUST FILLED THE CAR WITH GAS.RIGHT TO THE BRIM. CAN'T GET ANOTHER DROP IN! She is precise, professional, efficient, knowledgable and understands the need of customers. She is not pushy but instead tries to work with you. We are attracted to Lexus' reliability and parts and service ( loaner car available ) but Samantha got us sold finally. The price she quote was the price we paid. No hidden or extra fee. DO NOT GET YOUR "FREE" INSPECTION DONE HERE. They take it as an opportunity to gouge you. I went yesterday for inspection and they were still up to their same old tricks, I refused and they failed the car... Today I went to Mavis and the car passed without incident. Two years ago I went in for a "free" inspection... They came up with so many lies that I took the car elsewhere the car passed in an instant with flying colors... That's when I realized that they use the inspection as an opportunity to scam money from customers. They lure us in with the promise of a free inspection... I purchased my Lexus from the Lexus of Smithtown location a few years ago. I drive to the city everyday for work so I needed a car that passes the "Clean Pass" law so that I could drive in the HOV lane saving me time during rush hour to and from work... This was the primary reason for me purchasing a vehicle at that time. The sales person told me that the Lexus CT had the clean pass... so I went through the process and purchased the car based on what he told me then... Turns out, HE LIED. So I spent $35,000 on a car based on a lie... I sat in traffic for years. Fast forward to August 2021 and the people are still very shady. Being that I purchased the Lexus brand new at Smithtown, they offer free NYS vehicle inspection. I spent $800 on new tires the day before the inspection and had the car pre-inspected at the tire location... they said the car had all its fluids, there were no lights on, all the wipers and other lights that were suppose to be on were and were in good working condition.... So off I went to Lexus to get the car officially inspected. I arrive at 7:50am for my 8am appointment. They take the car and I sign a paper at the desk and go sit in the waiting area. Over an hour later, I am still waiting. People that came in after me left before me. To the point where the whole waiting room cleared out and now new people are coming in... I go and ask how much longer and they say not too long... 30 minutes later, I'm still waiting and now the new people that came in left already... finally they call me and start to try and scam me... I believe making me wait that long was a tactic to get me invested in the time I put in so that I agree more readily to the charges they make up..They tell me that my windshield wipers are bad... meanwhile we just had several days of rain and storms and I drove with the wipers just fine. Next they tell me that my license plate bulbs need replacement and that they are "dim" Last, they tell me that NYS law has changed last year (which it did not) and that my window tints are too dark. I know for a fact NYS tint laws were enacted since 1991 and were only amended in 2017 to require that tints be inspected as a part of the overall yearly vehicle inspection process. The sales guy tried to lie to me and tell me that the law changed and that I now had to pay them to remove my tints, THAT THE CAR CAME WITH from THEM! Plus, they aren't even dark! You see right through them! How incredibly dishonest! If that was even true, which I know for a fact it's not, the actual dealership/ maker would be responsible for removing the tints, just as with recalls that no longer meet state or federal laws, especially since I purchased the car brand new from the maker. Luckily I'm very familiar with tint laws because I tinted the heck out of my BMW, so I was able to stop him dead in his lying tracks. I feel so bad for elderly people that come here... These people should really be ashamed of themselves, I'm sure they have quotas to meet but this is stealing, this is thievery. So I tell him to give me my car back. They make me wait an additional 15 minutes to give me my car. When he hands me my key he tells me that I have a $41 bill. I said, no absolutely not! For what??? Making me wait 2 hours to be lied to??? Inspections are free... He said yes but you had me fail the vehicle. ???? No where does it say you have to pass to get the inspection free... This is really low life behavior... Like what is $42 to try and steal from someone? They made things up the whole way, even up to the last moment to try and extract some money from me, even if it was less than $50. I refused and asked him to show me where the lies he is telling me is written. He said, it's fine I can just go... Beware, especially the elderly.. Best to just go to you local mechanic and pay them $37 instead of getting a padded bill from these SCAMMERS. You will never walk out of there with a free inspection, and if they tell you something about a law, be sure to do your own homework. They are not honest brokers and will do anything for a dollar. Had a problem with my 2023, RX350. Not knowing what the problem was, I took it to Smithtown service. I was given a price of over $5,000 to fix it. A week later they told me to pick up my car. I got there to see the bill of over $7,000. Surprise !!!!! I can't believe this I did not authorize this plus I can't afford it Gave them their car and left. Do not take your car there to get fixed. When he walked in both times he was COMPLETELY ignored by the sales people. The second time I saw it for myself. Pricing/negotiation was straight forward and without trickery. Finance Manager was not overly pushy when selling the usual extended warranty and wheel coverage etc. On delivery, car was waiting for me in the shade to keep cool and the tech specialist did a good job explaining all the features of the car. As a long-time Lexus owner, I'm very disappointed with the quality of customer service and integrity of this dealership. I wanted to believe this was a one-off situation and the pre-owned L/CERTIFIED car we purchased, which was a lemon, just fell through the gaps and somehow passed the pre-owned certification test.. but after reading through many reviews throughout many different sites, I have come to believe this dealership takes advantage of non-routine or out-of-state customers (maybe just non-regional).. HORRIBLE. This is extremely disappointing and completely un-called for from a luxury vehicle company. The vehicle I purchased was stated to be in excellent condition, but there were many flaws, which should be covered under warranty but took a great deal of back-and-forth before they decided warranty would cover a partial cost of fixing it... from a seatbelt that doesn't retract correctly (causing the door to not close all the way, hitting the seatbelt each time), to "minor" scratches across the bottom of the and the rims of the vehicle... I thought both cosmetics and performance of the vehicle were guaranteed at the time of purchase?? Sooo not worth it if you're trying to buy a vehicle as a one-time customer type of thing, but I suppose if you have the $$$$ to throw around, go forth and get your Lexus here! read more

I bought my Lexus July 2017. I was diligent in having it serviced at the suggested time. It was usually twice a year. I had no problems and trusted the service agent would suggest all the work that needed to be done according to mileage. In April of 2024, I had a problem. My carpets were wet, and my radio amplifier did not work. The problem was clogged sunroof drains. It flooded my car. I was handed an estimate of $8,821.93 for carpet, padding, mold, and amplifier. I have looked over all my invoices for 7 years. Not once did they clean the drains or inform me that I needed to do it. It was not in the owner's manual. I spent $5,865.36 at that dealership for service in those 7 years. I sold the car at a loss and got a Nissan. I am so disappointed because I loved that car. Just a warning about checking your sunroof drains. The agents should take note. read more

REMOTE START: So the only way to have remote start with a Lexus, is to have the app on your phone, and you have to pay an annual fee of 89+ dollars to have it. The conditions have to be perfect in order for you to use it. You must have wi-fi available, and no interference, you can not use it if your car has not been started for 5 days. I travel and leave my car but want to warm it up before I get home and in it. Last trip it would not start because it was over 5 days unused, so this trip I started it remotely after 3 days, then did it again after another 4. I am going back to cold weather in 2 days and now it is telling me it will not start again remotely because it was done twice already and not driven so it will not remote start again until there are occupants and driven. WTF! such a waste of money! They don't have remote start with a key, ONLY Remote with the app and ONLY if you pay annually for it, the cars are expensive enough, should not have to pay for that as well! It should be a benefit of owning a Lexus! Love my car but hate feeling held hostage to use remote. read more

Lexus of Smithtown gave us a " DECEMBER to REMEMBER "on Dec .28, 2023. We had a deal that was offered by the Sales Manager which was to close today ,Jan. 2 , 2024 . After 2 hours with the salesperson and test driving the new Lexus RX350 the sales person came out of the back office and said they would not honor the offer because our 2021 Lexus RX350 , which we are leasing from Lexus of Smithtown NY. , has a recall that no-one has been notified about and there is no longer any equity value to the car. They offered a new deal which would have resulted in a substantial increase on the new lease monthly payment. When we contacted LEXUS Financial they were incredulous and suggested we go to a different dealership because Lexus would be be required to repair any recalls and that will not affect the value of the car. After 20 years and 5 leases with this dealership we are very disappointed with Lexus of Smithtown and would caution using them and follow the Corporate Office and use a different Lexus dealership. I had my vehicle towed there and after waiting 3 hours the rude service advisor, Robert Romano informed me that they won't accept third party insurance payments when Lexus sold the tire insurance. I had to call the dealership that I purchased it from for them to try and mediate things. The manager Dan was just as rude and still did not honor the tire insurance even though they were previously paid immediately for previous tires. Dan had the nerve to say he's divorced and he wants his job. I never received such deplorable customer service in the history of me owning cars. On June 20th, I had an incident at the dealership where they randomly charged me $292.00 without my knowledge. Did not inform me upon arrival that they may be a charged. When my truck was ready, I noticed it was far in the back and Shakira handed me my invoice without confessing to me in the beginning they may be a charged. I called the following day and spoke with Dan from service department who is very unprofessional. He promised me he would call me back within couple days after he spoke with Shakira and come up with a resolution. I called twice a week later and Dan is clearly ignoring me. I just called the dealership and spoke to a women in the service department who was very rude to me and hung up my call as I was very polite. She tells me Dan "will call me" when the system is back up. I called back after she hung up and was trying to reach the service department and they was ignoring my call. What is shady going on over there? Even though the system "been down" in the last 3 weeks. That is not my fault or problem. I disputed the charge, reported the issue to Lexus consumer affairs and I am not done yet. That lady should not be hanging up the clients calls and ignoring calls as Dan is as well. We put a deposit on a pre-owned vehicle of $1000.00 on my Amex on September 25th, after 4 calls to the salesperson and texts no refund as of today October 4th. I know they are a strong dealership they just dont value a relationship if you decide not to purchase. They obviously do not have a concern to expedite, so i just put a charge back request through with credit card company, very difficult, time consuming and totally unnecesary. I purchased a 2017 Lexus RX in October I received some assistance from a newly employed sales man , however I found I had to be proactive to receive answers and my concerns resolved. Taking the initiative to resolve concerns about remote start being included was necessary, etc. .I wanted the vehicle so I went forward and purchased it. This is the fourth Lexus I have leased from this dealership. I assure you there will not be a fifth. Obviously I was happy with the others. The quality of this car has declined significantly. I have had it barely a month and it has been in for service twice, and I have a list of additional issues. But honestly the main issue is the staff at this dealership. No one cares. No one responds. My salesperson refuses to respond to my questions. I sent an email to the dealership outlining my concerns- a guy named Bill called me and left me a message saying he wanted to talk; I called him right back and never heard from him again. I spoke to Dan who heads up service, and he was straight- up rude to me. I encourage you to get a different car, as 2 of my family members also have new Lexus cars and are having a lot of problems. But if you are committed to buying a Lexus, just trust me, go to a different dealership. This place has no loyalty. I have bought four cars from there, and that doesn't even warrant a call back.
