I find this place to be unacceptable as a pre-school and day camp. They state that they are well equipped to handle small children, how that is a lie. My 4 year old grandson, who is very large for his age, and was only there for 2 hours, was separated from the other children, because he was doing his own little thing. We explained this at his interview, which we did bring him, and they saw how he acted, and still told us it would be OK, since in the summer they hire young college students who are trying to get their teaching degree to assist. We sent out children here years ago and now our grandson attends. The director Cindy is amazing. They are so wonderful in the 18th months old program teaching independence and active play. They abide by the Covid guidelines and teachers and assistants all wear mask with the 18mth olds. It's a gentle structured program and a great place to start with your toddlers read more

I paid for two weeks in advance using a Groupon for this school for my 18 month old son. After 3 days I was called in the middle of the week, in the middle of a work day to let me know that my son was being expelled for biting. Mind you, he was still adjusting to a new school, and had a great first and second day. When I went to pick him up, they had him isolated in a play pen that was put into a circle so he couldn't get out. He was also signing for "more" which he does when he is hungry. I looked in his lunch box to see he had not eaten at all. The teachers and director did not even make eye contact with me when I picked up my son and did not offer any words of advice. I was obviously also stuck for finding child care in the middle of the week at the last minute. Would not recommend to anyone. read more

I really wanted to like this place. A friend had recommended it, as she had had a great experience with her son going to preschool there. My son was in the Baby Steps class, which was new since my friend's experience. I really liked that they let my son keep his own nap schedule, since he was a two nap a day "cat napper" and was not ready to transition to a single nap. Sadly, I cannot recommend this place. I am an early childhood educator as well as a parent, so my standards for someone taking care of my child are high, and this place did not come close to meeting them. My son was usually dirty when I picked him up. I mean, not dirty like he had a little food on his clothes from lunch or he had a little smudge on his face. Dirty like his face was filthy and no one had bothered to clean him up or his clothes were dirty with food or wet (despite the fact that I sent in a bib for him), and no one ever bothered to change them. He was often sitting playing by himself with a dirty diaper when I picked him up. I get that kids poop and you might not notice right away. But I walked in the door at the same time every single day and every single day, he had poop in his diaper. No one ever thought to check him a few minutes before I got there so that I wouldn't have to wait while they changed him, with him crying because he just wanted Mommy once he had seen me. (He was a year old at the time.) Staff turnover was high. Classroom aides seemed to be on a revolving door and the teacher was ultimately fired (after I had already decided to pull my son out of the program). No one ever seemed to know what was going on, several of my son's items were lost, I often got "daily reports" for the wrong child in my son's backpack. On the daily report, it would always say, "He had a great day!" but then I would open his lunch and find he hadn't eaten it, or he would be really cranky and I would reach out to the school and ask if he'd napped and be told he hadn't taken a good nap. As a parent, it helps me to know these details. Privacy was not respected. I specifically filled out in writing that I did not want my son's image on the web site or social media. To this day, his picture is still all over their Facebook page. Classroom hygiene was lacking. I often entered the room to find other kids walking around in nothing but a diaper and bare feet in the middle of winter, while the staff ran around trying to figure out where the child's change of clothes was. My own son was barefoot when I picked him up on multiple occasions, despite my making it clear to staff that if he was more comfortable with just socks on, that was fine, but I didn't want him walking around barefoot in the winter. I often observed staff changing my son without wearing gloves and not washing their hands or changing gloves (when they did wear them) between diaper changes. My son slept in a Pack n Play that we provided, and I would often find blankets/stuffed animals that were not his in there when I went to get his blanket at the end of the week to wash it. He was always getting sick, and I'm sure sleeping with nap items that weren't his did not help. He got Hand Foot and Mouth while he was there, and it then spread to me and my other son (who was older and in a different childcare facility at the time). The staff was not dressed professionally. I work in preschool -- I get it. You want to be comfortable and you don't want to wear nice clothes that are likely going to get paint, snot, food, etc. on them. I have no issues with my kid's teachers wearing leggings, t-shirts, sweats, whatever. That being said, I would prefer those clothes fit and are appropriate for working with children -- i.e. I shouldn't be able to see your thong/rear end through your pants when you bend over to pick up my son because they are so threadbare, and I definitely shouldn't walk in to pick up my son to find his teacher at the front desk getting tape to fix her pants because they were so tight that they split when she bent over. (Yes, that actually happened.) I brought all of these concerns to the director and assistant director multiple times, and things would improve for awhile and then go back to the way they were before. They were constantly thanking me for bringing the issues to their attention and saying that the owner would never want to hear that those things were taking place; however, I never met the owner, and clearly it wasn't enough of an issue to be rectified in the four months my son was there. They did have some good and caring staff here. I don't have any reason to think my son was being harmed, and I could tell that some of the staff really cared about him and developed a relationship with him; however, it was not enough for me to be comfortable keeping him there, especially when he wasn't speaking yet and wasn't able to tell me what was going on throughout his day. read more

I love this place! We started daughter her when she was 2 1/2, untrained , very shy and timid. She was immediately welcomed into a class led by an absolute sweetheart, Miss Shannon, who helped my daughter come out of her shell quickly. She was potty trained within a few months. And genuinely loved being there two days a week. She returned for two more years, one with Miss Christine and Miss Rachel, and pre K with Miss Kim and Miss Renee. She Also attended summer camp programs here with Miss Kerry. It was an absolute joy watching her come home, giddy with excitement about her day, the activities she participated in, friends she made, and all that she learned from her teachers. She was so prepared by this school that she got a nearly perfect score on her kindergarten placement test. The staff is beyond wonderful, from the owners (the Trofes) to the Director Miss Cindy, her administrative assistant Miss Marie, to all the teachers and aides. They keep you informed about activities going on via newsletters and social media, contact you immediately with any concerns, and just genuinely care about the well being and intellectual (and emotional) development of these kids. My ONLY complaint about this stellar facility is that they don't offer transportation. This is gone only reason why we didn't enroll our son here, as he needed to attend half day preschool at our district public school. I reluctantly had him in a nearby facility that does offer bussing, and was not happy with much about that place. Bright beginnings is the best! My daughter has been going to this center for a few months now, we love it there! The staff is so warm and friendly. Miss Nicolle is the sweetest and she has great projects. My daughter has learned a lot since attending Bright Beginnings and I would recommend this center to anyone. They are also very affordable and flexible with their rates and hours. Very disappointed in this school. High teacher turn over rate, and more of a daycare then a school. This school claims to have smaller class sizes, but that is not the case. The security of the school is also a major question, it is not a secure building. Anyone can come in and out at anytime, no pass code just a receptionist sitting at the front desk. Most of the staff are unprofessional, inexperienced and often times dressed inappropriate. As a mother having had 3 kids go through pre-K, I would highly not recommend going to Bright Beginnings West in Pitman. Very unprofessional teachers and staff. read more

My daughter has been going to Bright Beginnings West for four months, in those four months she has learned so much, she's come out of her shy shell. She's so excited to go in the morning, and doesn't want to leave when I pick her up. She loves her teacher, all the aides, her classmates, and all the learning.
