Before I even talk about the photography itself, I was just amazed at the professionalism that Heather and Matthew displayed while working with us. They suggested amazing shots, were very upbeat and helpful and it almost feels as if Heather is just as excited as you are when it comes to your wedding almost like a Bridesmaid/Photographer hybrid, which is why I felt compelled to write a review here, because what we experienced and saw on other reviews vs. what Phallin experienced are complete opposites. As far as photography goes, before hand we really had no knowledge on what we wanted to do in regards of where we wanted to take engagement pictures, or what type of shots we were looking for but I feel this is really something that Heather does really well. She suggested places that we could go that could produce some really great shots for our engagement pictures and she will literally go the extra mile for a great photo ( I have saw her run up 2 flights of stairs with a full set photo equipment multiple times in ~90 degree weather just so she could get the perfect shot which is impressive in itself). On our wedding day, Heather and Matthew came to the venue early and cleaned up a spot outside that made for some really great shots which is again, something that was not expected but just a testament of how they will go the extra mile to make sure that your day is captured perfectly in pictures. Also during the wedding they were very receptive with our guests and even took pictures with the guests phones when requested along side with taking professional pictures, which is something that I heard is usually not done by professional photographers. All in all I rarely write reviews; if something is great its great, if its not its not, but you can not go wrong with Heather and Matthew in Uptown Downtown Photography, the Price-to-Service ratio is amazing and more people need to know how much of a asset they will be to your wedding and capturing your special day. I really tried to find some constructive criticism but honestly could not as this is probably the best service that I have had to pay for for this wedding. We attended my sorority sister's wedding in Orlando about two months ago, and these folks did an…read moreamazing job on Carlie's pictures and ablum. We did not book Moments as our photographer. We had a decent wedding budget that got a little bit crunched, so we ended up getting a friend-of-a-friend who is a professional photographer, to shoot our wedding. She did it on the cheap, and the pictures were OK, and she kept fiddling with her flash and complaining about her batteries. It seems to me like a lot of her images were crooked or blurry or dark. The images were average, but not even close to what Moments did for my "sis". I think the guy's name is Scott. We really really regret not hiring this guy now, because Carlie recommended him. I am making sure I spread the word to other brides who might make the same mistake. I guess they use a special kind of camera equipment that makes these incredible pictures. They are super clear and colorful. He was really cool at the wedding, and we hardly even noticed him most of the time. His assistant (girlfriend maybe?) was really nice and sweet too, and she also shot pictures from other angles. It was her album that just floored me when I saw it. I am hoping I can get him to make an album out of my pictures, but I am not sure the images that will do it justice. He said he can see what he can do for us, so my fingers are crossed. But if you are thinking of trying to cut corners on the photography, trust me you will be sorry. I have to say I really didnt even know that wedding pics could be like this. Even though I thought he was out of our budget, he was not expensive compared to all the other photographers we looked at. We spend too much on other things first. Put your pictures on the top part of your list. I learned my lesson the hard way. Hopefully they can help me salvage what I have. I know Carlie booked him over a year ahead of time too, so if you are planning your wedding now, you definately want to take a look at him. If your budget is tight, I think his assistant shoots weddings on her own too for a bit less.
