I had three kids go through Bright horizons and loved every minute of it. The location downtown and the staff was amazing. Warning to everyone that I've recommended this place to, they have new leadership that is terrible. Teachers are leaving and enrollment is down. You used to walk in to a joyful with parents congregating in the lobby to plan play dates and laughter throughout the building. Staff have been there for sometimes decades and turnover was low. It's why I selected the location. Now the lobby is filled with cold and difference. Individuals barely looking up from their computers except for one person, Jennifer, who was he a prior to the transition and is a light and what has become a difficult place to leave my kids. Leadership doesn't even recognize children by name and at one point stated they are not the ones that pay the tuition. Previous leadership (and I saw three different teams) that had gone through knew every child's name, their preferences, and their personalities. They are actively involved in the classrooms and day-to-day operations. Now there is a corporate front. Leadership is completely disconnected. Within weeks of of the transition the entire culture has shifted and I have two kiddos that no longer want to go to school. Some of their friends have left to go to other institutions and some of their most favored teachers have put notice. It is absolutely devastating. I have so long recommended this place as the ultimate example of a phenomenal daycare and now I am weighing the options for where we're going to go next. It greatly saddens me the post this because we have amazing memories. A couple of months in, it appears this is not a transitional difficulty but a permanent culture that's being instilled. It is your children the most important decision you can make is who is watching them when you're not with them and I would not recommend this facility. read more

My son has been enrolled at Bright Horizons Downtown Phoenix since 2021. This is an amazing daycare facility with very caring and capable educators. Jennifer, Jennifer, Marissa, Bailey, Dolores, and Sandra treat our son like family, and we can't thank them enough for the many ways they've supported and nurtured our child. We are very excited to enroll our youngest child in the infant room next month. Also, a note to my fellow working parents, the operating hours are excellent. This facility is extremely accommodating of a working parent's schedule. The center also offers breakfast, lunch, and snacks. And they don't take extended "holiday breaks" like many other daycares do. I truly have no complaints, this school has been perfect for us. read more

This review is based solely on the customer service of Bright Horizons and not the actual childcare. Today I had a scheduled tour for 9:30AM. I called at 9:08AM to confirm, in which the girl that answered confirmed with me. I arrived at 9:30, and the receptionist told me they were not giving tours today. I called the number back that I had called earlier to confirm to see if maybe I scheduled for a different location by accident. As soon as I called, the phone behind the receptionist stared to ring, and she answered... The lack of communication between the staff is really disheartening. I am six months pregnant, working full time in the Arcadia area. To drive 40 minutes round trip to downtown Phoenix, only to find out your tour was cancelled and your valuable time was wasted is very unprofessional and is not very reassuring to me that this is a place I would want to bring my kids. I'm very disappointed as we intended to enroll our toddler in this facility but after today I highly doubt it. I scheduled a zoom meeting two weeks prior to this and they never showed up nor called nor responded to our emails. I also called and they didn't seem to care so they just said someone would call me back ASAP. That was over 3 weeks ago and I still haven't heard back from anyone. My husband escalated this to the Director and even then she decided to schedule a zoom meeting a week from now. Such a joke. Moving on to another daycare. read more

Bright horizons was the first daycare I put my child into. She is three and had social anxiety since being born shortly before the pandemic. I was so nervous that my child would be so terrified and mistreated if she didn't want to be touched or around others, but this facility has done the absolute most to get my child comfortable. Her teacher has taken the time to get my daughter to understand her boundaries won't be violated. She's worked with me on getting my girl potty trained, and as shy as she is she encourages my baby to play with others and it's like a completely different little girl came home. I am soooo grateful for my daughters teachers efforts! Not to mention the enrollment process was smooth and informative! The women at the front remembered our names within the first three days of attending! They follow stringent procedures to avoid Covid spread throughout the classes, and that facility is like Fort Knox! I know and trust that my child is safe in their care! It doesn't smell like piss like a lot of other places I toured, in fact most the time it smells like some good cooked food! They feed the kids healthy balanced meals! Yes it is a bit more on the pricey side, and sure there are cheaper places but they also look like their price! They are worth every penny! It's been three months since my baby girl started, and though she had to get used to being around other kids and their germs, she's fully adjusted and always asks "when will we see teacher?" As soon as she leaves! Thank you Jen in the front office for being so personable and understanding, thank you Ms Lee for getting my girl comfortable with the class, and just all around I am so grateful and lucky that my child's first childcare experience has been a fun beautiful breeze! As we are expecting our first child in September, we decided to start looking into infant care options early. We were excited to see Copper Sun (now a Bright Horizons Center) was downtown. Speaking with them on the phone initially was pleasant, so we scheduled a visit and actually came in a couple times, first time being just my husband, second time being the both of us. We were impressed and happy with the location so it seemed like a win. When we were ready to register, we were told that there would be registration fee that needed to be paid along with the registration forms that we would need to submit. At the time, we were told there were two openings that would be available, so we went home to consider our options, then called back the next day to inform them that we would like to fill up one of those positions....well that next day, two openings ended up being one opening, but we were told by Andrea that we just had to bring in a check along with the forms for that position. When I called the next day to make sure that they would still be open by the time I was able to make it there after work, I was told by another staff member, Candace, that they hadn't even had any openings for the infant room for weeks. Several weeks later, after we'd already decided that the disorganization of the center wasn't what we were looking for, we received an email from the Director of Customer experience, Heather, asking if we were ready to schedule our tour.... No thanks, if they can't operate their daycare center in an organized manner, I'm not sure that I trust them to care for my infant son. read more

This was my childs first daycare. My toddler didn't like it. I gave it a chance being as this was my childs first daycare. Still disliked it immensely. The fear grew more each passing day. Even developed a anxiety for the place. I called the first day to check up and the assistant teacher in the classroom didn't know who that was. She then "accidently" hung up on me. The director of this daycare wouldn't greet me or my child like she did with other parents. Only acknowledged us when we had to speak to her at the desk. The mini fridge in my childs class was dirty inside and and out. Very troubling.Overall, I do not recommend this place. Only giving a second star for the assistant directors. read more

Loved this place at first, but found many things wrong with it. Everything from teachers texting instead of paying attention to the kids to them having the kids repeat things that sounded similar to bad words (teachers says "say baxter", comes out as bastard). Staff is friendly until something goes wrong, then they act very unprofessionally. Sad to say that I thought this place was so awesome. For the cost of it, you'd be better off at a different child development center. read more

Our son started at this location in April of 2017! He had not been in daycare prior and I was worried about his transition to a daycare setting he was 18 months at the time he was in the transitions group with Ms. Melissa, she was so awesome and for sure put my mind at ease. I knew I could call or express my thoughts and she was great! She was so patient and kind to my son and myself. She made all the difference in the world, I never worried when dropping him off. He was excited to go! My son is now in the 2 yr old toddler class and he has been doing awesome. He loves "school" and is learning so much. He is thriving and talking so much and is learning a lot. I think he appreciates the interaction as he is an only child at the moment. If you are considering this location, it would be a great decision. I would not take my son anywhere else. I also like that there are many different ethnicities of children there I love that! The site director Stephanie is also awesome she always is very good wit communicating important info to us parents. All the staff is very friendly and everyone knows my son's name. I highly recommend this daycare, I would of posted sooner but wanted to really have a good period of time established here before writing a review. read more

My daughter is a student at Bright Horizons and I have honestly never been so happy with a pre school! My daughter has always had a babysitter but she couldn't watch her anymore after she turned one, I was devastated at the thought of having to put her into a day care or pre school. When we finally found Bright Horizons from the minute Andrea greeted us and took care of us I was relieved. She is so calm and so helpful! She took care of us from the moment we started and has continued to be nothing but helpful ESPECIALLY because I do bother them a lot with questions and paper work. She has never seemed irritated or like she doesn't want to help, she is always happy to and takes very good care of us! The teachers are even more amazing, Melanie and Dolores have captured not only Evas heart but ours as well! We have nothing but good things to say about them.. You can actually tell they have a genuine interest for my daughter and their other students! They have taught eva SO much, she loves going and every morning looks for one of them. When eva first started I called Dolores a lot to check up on her and she was happy to update me, she also made me a collage of evas first day and I was blown away! If youre looking for somewhere to send your child where they actually care and will be WELL taken care of, Bright Horizons is ABSOLUTELY the place to go!! This preschool was horrible.The first day I start him at this school the lady told me he will be in one class, I come to pick him up and he's in a whole different class with a different teacher. After I find where my son is, I ask them what happened? Because I was not notified.The lady with the soft spoken voice tells me they made a mistake because of his age. That should not have happened. He's new to Phoenix and he's new to the school, my son gets irritated when things change and are not consistent. So granted the next day when I take him, he has a melt down because he though the first class he was in the day before was the class he should be in. The school ended up letting him stay in the first class for a couple months so he can get use to the school. However, I should have known the preschool was not good just from the first mishap. My son would come home with bruises and cuts and I never got an ouch report. His attitude changed while he was going to this preschool. I am assuming the teacher didn't pay attention to him and how could they? They had so many kids to one teacher he wasn't getting any feed back from her;so he started acting out. It was such a hassle to get him to get up and go to preschool. He would cry in the car saying he didn't want to go. He hit two kids and he bit one kid which was so out of character for my son. He had never bitten anybody at school and my son's last teacher and me had got his hitting under control before we left. Also, I heard the people in the front gossiping about another co worker and I thought that was tacky af. The place was also no organized and never kept their records up to date. So with all this and my son just dreading on going to school I took him out. He stayed home with me for a couple months and he is a new school and everybody at this school is wonderful. My son loves his teacher and he loves his school. I told him he couldn't go to school one day and he cried saying he couldn't miss school. I have not had any problems with hitting and there is no biting. Next time when I feel like something isn't right or when my son starts crying I will definitely listen the first time. I am extremely happy with Bright Horizons. I met with Andrea and Candace while I was still pregnant and went on several tours. They were always available, kind, and very organized. I also met the teachers. I appreciate that they have been with Bright Horizons for many years and truly love their job. It is always hard to start day care, but the staff helped make the transition easier. I am able to go see my child any time I like, and I can tell that the teachers really care about my child and make sure that they are safe, well-cared for, and engage in games and activities with them. I take my son here. We moved him here when he was 2, and were sad not to have discovered the placed earlier. The staff is, by and large, fantastic. The in-house leadership is wonderful, thoughtful, and responsive to parental concerns and criticisms. We have had Ms. Lee, Ursula, Danielle. and Bailey, and my son has loved all of them. They are patient, and strike a perfect balance between structure and freedom. They provide food, and the options are healthy and force your little one to sample several different types of foods. read more
