This place is a home away from home! My daughter has been here since she was barely a year old. Now she will be 4 in and has one more year here until she goes to big girl school at 5! And man can I tell you how glad I am that I found this daycare. This place is not only a place I trust (especially with my childhood growing up in foster care), but it's a place my daughter is learning so much at! Hey have taught her sign language and how to treat other people. They let her express her voice and be the girly girl or tomboy she wants to be!!! The staff have always been patient with not only my child but with other children that you know takes a whole other level of love and patience to work with them!! You know those kids! . This place has done more for me and daughter then I could have done alone!!! My son has been going here part-time for about a year and it's been a great experience for us. The staff and teachers are caring and they are flexible with the schedule when we may need to switch days. The distance of this daycare to my job is what got me to walk in the doors. The teachers and environment is what's kept me. My daughter was a year and half when she started going here and I am forever grateful to Ms. Emi, who made both mine and my daughters transition into Daycare life as smooth as possible. Ms. Kathy is always good for an enlightening conversation and a warm hug for the littles! There is new leadership and it is very apparent they are trying to update and modify the location to be something even better kids and parents. If you're looking for a trustworthy daycare I'd suggest looking for another one than this, my son has been in this daycare for only as little as two weeks and I myself was already noticing some things. The daycare doesn't give you updates of your kids throughout the day unless you ask about them and in person asking how my son did that day their response were very dry just by saying "oh he was good" and not what he learned or what he tried eating or any incidents that might've happened. I notice my son was very dehydrated as well picking him up instantly crying for his bottle. And also seems like they're outside all day from morning to lunch to afternoon. When I would go to pick up my son he was very dirty, he had dirt all over his cheeks and hands. My son didn't seem to enjoy being there. I feel as though the teachers didn't seem to give enough attention to the children. I'd suggest looking elsewhere.. read more

I wouldn't recommend, at times I would notice my child wouldn't have his diaper changed & everything in the diaper bag would remain the same as I left it. I would find wood chips in his jacket & diaper. It also didn't help that he was dirty every time I went to pick him up. An incident occurred when he was eating woods chips & I asked mychild to take it out his mouth & he did. The teacher response was " oh its okay they're good for him to help build his immune system". We have enrolled our son at YBR for about a year now and we could not be happier in our choice to bring him here. Everyone is helpful, knowledgeable and loves our son. The director Shannon always has her door open and is open to feedback, suggestions and gives us insight into our son on a daily basis. Miss Kim and Miss Kathy are amazing and are always there to greet us and ensure classes are supervised and running smoothly. The teachers in my son's class are amazing, genuinely care about him and are always communicating with us about his days at YBR. We especially love Miss Maria, who has been my son's teacher since we enrolled. I went in for a tour as I was looking for a new school for my son. I pulled in and seen the playground from the parking lot, it looked pretty old & not maintained. I brushed it off as I was optimistic in what else they had to offer. prior to my visit I was told there was some remodeling going on, I walked in and the lobby had different paint swatches on the wall, can't you swatch somewhere besides your front entrance? Anyways the woman greeted me, and to be completely honest her overall appearance wasn't very impressionable. She escorted me to the 3 yr old class room where my son would be and their classroom doors reminded me of a detention center with the tiny window & medal plate at the bottom of the door. I was then introduced to the teacher who was just sitting at the table with some kids in sweat pants & a sweat shirt. Like seriously? To me the teacher in the classroom looked to be one who doesn't like to be too bothered. After the quick glance of the room I was then walked back to the lobby wasn't shown anything else within the daycare. I was asked to fill out some information, while doing so I see a employee making copies walking around with no shoes on. The whole place needs some warmth, uniforms, and professionalism. First impressions are everything and I was not impressed. I left happy to know I would not be leaving my son there. read more

In spite of being promised that a solution for the wide-open door would be in place by summer 2018, the security issue still persists. I've been looking for a preschool for my four year old, and stopped in today to check out this school, since the reviews are good and it is close to my house. When I arrived, I immediately noticed that there was no lock on the front door, anyone can just walk in. Went in, no one was up front. There was also no security to keep anyone from getting in any further. I could hear children very nearby, and I could see the door to the twos room right in front of me. We waited about 5 minutes and never saw anyone. We left. I had high hopes and wanted to give this school a try, but it looks like this wouldn't work. read more

I first started with this daycare when my daughter was 6 months old in the baby room once she turn 1 years old she went to the ones class learning picking up good habits with enthusiastic teachers who love to have fun and love the kids family every time we come in the morning it always smells good of a good breakfast being cooked for the kids and there's always a menu on the wall to show you what the kids are eating all the way down to the last snack of the day they are a very caring daycare with that grandma's house filling there's times where I've had personal problems and Shannon the daycare director stepped up to the front plate to be there for me and help me and show that I'm not alone this is certainly the village that helps raise my child read more

My daughter, now 21, attended this day care over 10 years ago until she was 12 years old, when she became too "old" to keep going lol. I am now taking care of her son, my Grandson, and I enrolled him at Yellow Brick Road. The staff are just as wonderful all these years, and many new faces, later. My daughter loves it at yellow brick. There are a lot of kids in each room , but the teachers manage it well and the children actually seem to genuinely have fun playing with each other. They are currently doing some remodeling. The location is great and the price is great. Only dislike is that there is no key pad on the front door, but that is suppose to be changing with the remodel. As for that lady Kristy and her comment she is a sick person. I had to investigate the situation since that is a serious accusation to make about a pedophile and my daughter attending, I even asked her for additional info, her story doesn't check out at all. The name of the guy she gave me and story she gave me don't match up at all. Yellow brick filed a police report which they showed me. Yelp does a disservice allowing baseless comments like that that freak parents out. Kristy you disgust me. read more

My child has been attending YBR since June of 2018. I initially changed schools due to location. I worked down the street from this school and out of all the reviews I had viewed, YBR showed to be the best in my price range. I was very satisfied with my initial interview with Ms. Kim and Ms. Danika (who is no longer there unfortunately) . At our previous school, I was starting to have issues due to them not being able to "handle" my childs behaviors. It appeared that they were not willing to work with my child and I became uncomfortable with how things were being handled. When switching to YBR, not only did my son acclimate very quickly, I found that he really liked the staff and his "behaviors" disappeared! Of course every child is going to have their days, but in the course of our year at YBR, my child made so many friends and grew very attached to Mr. Josh, Ms. Michelle, Ms. Kim, Ms. Cathy, and Ms. Shannon. Yes, as a few of these other reviews stated, there is a new employee every few months but what school doesn't have turn around? There are many faces that have been at YBR for years and many students that have as well. That is what I think I enjoyed most, that I can could on certain staff being there for my son and my son got to go to school with the same group of friends everyday. I gave 4 stars primarily because I think that there could be improvements structurally, but would fall completely on the owners hands (not the fault of the staff that work there). In regards to Ms. Wendy, I personally did not witness what another wrote about her, however everytime I picked up my child from her classroom (about 2 days out of the week), all the children were always working on some kind of fun project and she was always taking time to explain to the children. Instead of saying No, she would explain why something shouldn't be done a certain way or oposite. I thought so highly of this becuase this is what helps the children learn. The children were always calm and really listened to her. I also took time to observe her on several occations becasue I was curious about her. I took time to compliment her to the Director on one occation and took time to ask her about herself on another followed by a compliment. I have absolutely great things to say about this place. My daughter seemed to have loved all of the time that she spent there and the quality of learning was beyond my expectations. I would love to say that it all stems from the brain that I passed down to her but I wouldn't be telling the full truth. She would sing us songs, tell us about the books that they would read, starting writing me letters soon after she turned four years old (not just writing her name), and was starting to figure out math concepts (mostly addition but did know a little subtraction). I definitely think that Yellow Brick instilled the necessary tools for my little girl to not only be "kindergarten ready" but to be ahead of the game. Also, the tuition is very reasonable if not the lowest in the area. Her mother and I work downtown and the location was very convenient. Unfortunately, kids grow up and move on to different things, so summer vacation.... here we come then on to big kids school next year!
