My son began at ORA in August 2018. By December 2018, he had had enough. He literally screamed…read moreand cried anytime the car approached the preschool. The owner claimed to not know why he had this reaction and when asked, he would only say "the teachers were mean to him". We withdrew him immediately and the owner (Kristen) hounded me for another month's worth of tuition, which I reluctantly paid her (I now wish I hadn't). Jump forward a year and Henry started K this week. He had the same reaction as we tried to bring him to class each morning - until he learned that not all teachers or schools are "mean". It took 4 heartbreaking days of screaming and crying to overcome his experience at ORA. Thankfully, he seems better now. In talking with other parents recently, I've heard similar stories. I've also heard that all or part of the staff at ORA was replaced in early 2019 - I don't know the reason why. In doing some research on my own, I've also learned that Kristen was charged by the Broward Sheriffs Office in 2013 with 1 count of welfare fraud, a 3rd degree felony, and arrested on that charge in 2017. The case was disposed of in 2018 with a plea of no-contest (Broward Case#: 17008520CF10A). I wish I had that information before enrolling my son at ORA. Amusingly, their website touts criminal background checks on all employees. I'm sure there are good stories about ORA but all I can do is share mine with the hope that others benefit from it. I paid way too much money for the outcome of a 5yo who thinks school is a scary place.

I was very interested in registering my son as I just moved around the area, I did my research on…read morethis place and everything seemed fine the location was a plus. I noticed on their website they had a special going on so I called them to verify, the women I spoke to told me that yes that special was accurate and they would value my sons enrollment at that price. She took down my information and told me she would get back to me the following day. No one got back to me for the rest of the week, I waited till Friday thinking they may be busy wasn't worried since they already had my information for the enrollment, but when I reached out to them on Friday they told me that offer was no longer valuable and they couldn't do anything about it that was a special that was on but now taken off. They told me the person I spoke to misinformed me. I think they handled the situation very unprofessionally as I had already spoke to someone about it and they were suppose to get back to me to began the enrollment process. Had they handled it differently I would have still signed my son up, but I don't want him somewhere where they don't care about taking care of their future clients or even keep their word.
