My guess is the fact that they staff the facility with mostly untrained senior citizen volunteers who like it toasty. The same volunteers have significant difficulty guiding people to their seats because they seem to be unfamiliar with rows and seat numbers. I don't know how many times some elderly usher stood in front of me, shining their flashlight in my face, confused about where people were supposed to sit. Oh well... Still an unbelievably beautiful place to see (and hear!) a show. Truly, not a bad seat in the house.

I was having difficulty buying seats online for our event so I ended up calling the ticket office. Whoever helped me was great. She was patient and helpful. Explaining that this was our first visit there, I wanted to ensure we had the best possible seats to enjoy the show as well as have a great overall experience. Based on our conversation I chose lower balcony, front row seats. I recall the agent asking if we had any issues with stairs which was good as there are quite a few stairs to get to the balcony. While we found the view to be great, the seats are horrible. They are extremely skinny and uncomfortable. I saw on the floor that they even use bistro chairs at the ends of some aisles. From the looks of things, the only comfortable seats would be the boxes along the walls as they looked to have chairs that you could move. The front-row balcony is not well suited for anyone over 6' tall as there is not enough leg room to sit with your legs in front of you. By the time the concert ended, my legs were cramping, my butt was sore, and my lower back in knots from trying to sit a bit sideways. Anyone who is slightly overweight will find the seating most uncomfortable. Aside from that, the theater is quite beautiful and the acoustics seemed to work well for our event. The staff is friendly and helpful. Exiting the theater went smoothly and quickly. We will definitely return but will try for box seats to see if they are more comfortable.

The entire class was about 2-2.5 hours depending on how long you took to add some finishing details and everything was provided from paint, canvas, cups, paintbrushes. You're allowed to bring any sort of drinks and snacks which was a lot of fun. They rotate which paintings they do and post it on the website as well and it's fun to just come and pint even if you're not going to follow the template! My partner has been seriously looking for a looping pedal for as long as I've known her, so we saw that they had a few, and they were gracious enough to set them up for us to try (even the Electro-Harmonix one that they said was not very intuitive (Guess which one we ended up with.) They were VERY friendly, but at the same time did not hover over us. They let us spend about an hour playing with different pedals, talked about the shop, and guitars, and loopers, several customers came in and out, and all three of the guys behind the counter worked on some repairs. (They are a very repair centric shop.) The layout is a bit tight, but it's cozy. They have comfy seating, and really nice displays. It feels crowded, and it is, but it's in that... Clean and homey sort of way. They don't have a HUGE selection... It is not going to be an experience like guitar center. But it's going to give you that caring and dedicated local shop experience. And that's so much better. The prices were GOOD. (The looper ended up being cheaper than Amazon.) He even gave us each a EarthQuaker Devices sticker. (Before we even bought anything.) These guys are an Earthquaker licensed shop, too, so if you're looking for those pedals, this is a place to go.

I would have bought a drink during the concert but no way I would disrupt the people sitting in front or behind me or next to me to do so. Note to myself if I go again get aisle seats. They had 2 big screen video screens projecting the stage on the left and right of the stage. Once the people in front of me stood for most of the concert I saw more on the video screens than live center stage.

This is definitely the most comprehensive makerspace I've ever been to!…read more There's been some recent staff changes, and things seem to be in a bit of flux, but the space is amazing, and I personally would love to become more active here when I am in the 518. I'd like to see some new equipment, and have some of the existing equipment repaired or replaced. But, there's really good bones, here. Having opted for a family membership with my partner, we've brought my spawn here several times. The kids space is pretty well set up. It would be nice if it were staffed a little more. I'd actually say that's one of the things the space lacks, is clear staffing. Everyone I've met so far has been friendly, and helpful. Very nice. The location is really central. Parking is the only real pain, weekends are pretty convenient. Lots of nearby food and beverage. Nibble moved in right next door. It's a great space.
