Not Disability-Friendly & Big Drop in Quality After Management Change…read more I worked with Goals Art Academic Tutor through the Department of Rehabilitation while dealing with a serious health condition that affects my memory and brain function. They knew this from the beginning. The whole point of me being there was to get help building systems so I wouldn't forget tasks, emails, assignments, and basic things that come with school and life. At first, the experience was much better. When Mason was there, the service felt more supportive and accountable. If there were issues, he checked in and made sure things were handled. After he left, the quality of service went downhill. Leadership didn't take the same level of responsibility when problems came up, and concerns were mostly kept "within the tutors" instead of actually being addressed at a higher level. One of my tutors (Brianna) was great and genuinely supportive. My experience with another tutor (Maddie) was not a good fit at all. Our sessions felt uncomfortable, and at one point I was told things that made me feel like I wasn't going to succeed. She also made negative comments about my other tutor, which put me in a really awkward position. I tried to request a change in tutor because it wasn't working for me, but I wasn't given that opportunity. What made this worse is that when concerns were raised, it felt like leadership relied more on what this tutor reported rather than actually checking in with me or looking at my progress. At the time, I had been sick and told her I was behind on some assignments, which is pretty normal when you're dealing with health issues. What wasn't acknowledged is that I had caught up, completed my work, and finished my exams shortly after. That context didn't seem to matter. Instead of adjusting strategies to support my memory and health-related challenges (which is literally what DOR is paying them to help with), it felt like the blame was put on me. The support I was supposed to receive to help me remember things like emails and tasks wasn't consistently implemented until very late in the process. There was progress happening, but it got overshadowed by internal issues and poor handling of concerns. In the end, my services were terminated without a real conversation or collaborative attempt by the CEO. It felt dismissive and honestly pretty hurtful, especially as someone with a disability trying to rebuild skills after a major health setback. If you're someone with ADHD, neurological issues, memory problems, or any kind of disability, please be careful with this organization. They may work fine for people without complex needs, but in my experience, they are not well-equipped or properly trained to support people with disabilities. The service changed over time, and not in a good way. I'm now working with a different agency that actually understands disability-informed support, and the difference is night and day.

They found another tutor and my child started the process again, getting to know this new tutor, as the new tutor was also coming up to speed. Then this tutor left. In total, they had four tutors work with my child. The last person was very pregnant, although we couldn't tell as the sessions were on-line. She was with my child for only a month prior to going on maternity leave. Then they offered to find a new tutor for the few remaining weeks of the school year and I just had to cancel services. Considering the amount of time necessary for both the tutor and the child to learn about each other and comfortable move forward in the learning process, I am unable to recommend this team to anyone as their style of replacing tutors is counterproductive.

She achieved excellent grades in English. Now she is in college. On many occasions, she received high praises and marks from her professors for the essays in various humanities courses. Once she got a perfect score in Advanced Writing course, which the professor never believed in perfect score in an essay before. Since we moved to Long Island, New York a few years ago, we had been looking for a tutor like Ann for our younger daughter. But we couldn't find any good teacher like Ann. We contacted Ann after long search and fortunately she offered tutoring over Skype. We were so pleased with the outcome we got with our older daughter, we didn't hesitate to enlist her help with our younger daughter.  Our younger daughter, 10th grader has been learning over Skype for 10 months. She learns to read more complex texts and expands her vocabulary. We have noticed significant improvements in mindset for approaching and organizing essays. She is steadily improving and can carry herself with more confidence and excels her writing skills and reading comprehension not only in English also in other classes such as history, marketing, research and writing science lab reports.  We are impressed by Ann's teaching method. She reviews and tests new vocabularies, practice critical reading, edit homework essay and check grammar sheets within one hour tutoring session. Also she is very kind and supportive, which makes learnings from her more enjoyable and effective. Her teaching method is superb and well organized. John Fleming is the kind mastermind behind the center and its approach to helping children and parents alike. We call him a gem of a human, truly. His precise and detailed IEP has helped our school so much, is easy to follow and most importantly allows our son to thrive at school. We were blessed to be matched with our phenomenal therapist Anne-Laure Grigsby who we absolutely love and who became such an invaluable part of our family in regard to our son's educational journey. Anne-Laure is highly professional, knowledgeable and extremely supportive in every possible way, but more than that, she is very patient, kind, loving and intuitive in customizing his sessions to what is most needed at any given time. Anne-Laure has a gift of always putting our son in good spirits even though he suffers from depression while teaching him and helping him with challenging tasks. My daughter was in Juniper Tree from 2017 to 2021. She started Juniper as a replacement of a Waldorf school she had been attending. Looking back, the school director and teacher Yishan's combined approach of Montessori and Waldorf proved more effective for my kid's learning and overall development. The teachers' and staff's personalized attention to each child in a small group setting, a clean, relaxing and cozy atmosphere that comforts children to stay calm and focused, emphasis on children's emotional growth by teaching how to communicate are not what I could get in any other school including the Waldorf school she attended before. I feel privileged to have met Teacher Yishan since she changed the way my child communicates herself. She turns learning into fun each day where children truly learns and internalizes the subject and empowers each child to cultivate their self-esteem and communication skills. My 3 old toddler had a very unpleasant first time daycare experience while she was at Learning…read moreSprings for 7 days. She was hit by a child while having 3 adults in the same classroom "supervising" her. There was no exact explanation as to why they didn't witness the incident. My child had an "accident" and I always provided an extra pair of clothes as expected, but my child was left with her dirty clothes throughout the day. The hours state they are available for business at 7am and for me this was expressed how important it was to be their on time. The staff would walk in right at 7am and by the time I walked out from checking her in and everything else that needed to be done, i was 10 minutes behind schedule. I expressed thus to the director and we couldn't continue allowing more incidents occur and decided to not continue having our child be here. We requested our 2 weeks of daycares money that we had paid in advance to be refunded and they refused and said their policy stated we needed to give a months notice stating we were removing our child. We were furious to hear how the wanted us to leave our child there to have more incidents occur. A refund wAs not given back to us and were un-sympathetic. Bad experience from day one.
