My daughter is going into sixth grade next academic year and we wanted to ensure she was up to speed on her math. The process to sign up and to get an assessment was easy and the staff is very helpful. My daughter first hesitated going to math school over the summer but she truly likes it. I think it's because she sees how much it's helping and she is feeling confident about her skills. They are always on time and the ratios are great. It's time for an update now my son is a sophomore in college. As with many parents, we initially turned to math tutoring when my son struggled. He started Mathnasium in 2nd grade, but over time, he didn't struggle as much. Mathnasium became more of an extracurricular activity than just tutoring. Of course, like most kids, he wanted to quit at some point. He finally got his wish before his senior year of high school. Looking back, I now truly see the value of this extracurricular. He was good at math, though I wouldn't say he was exceptional, and I always thought he didn't particularly enjoy it. Surprisingly, when he was a sophomore in college, he decided to pursue a minor in engineering--or even math. I guess his years at Mathnasium served him well after all! I started my daughter at Mathnasium Campbell-Los Gatos last month. It is a bit pricey and requires a 6 month commitment. However, we are happy as my daughter really likes it. She is learning new concepts and is becoming more confident. All her instructors are wonderful teachers, yet they are kind and encouraging. This certainly helps your child's self esteem. They offer online sessions during the pandemic and it is working out really good. In fact, even after this pandemic is under control, I hope they will continue the online option. Making arrangements for your kid to go to different classes and after school activities is really difficult. Honestly, I don't think I could had enrolled her, if she had to go to in person classes. However, this model is wonderful and I will keep my daughter there as long as their online option will continue. Mathnasium of Campbell really helped our 2 girls get ahead in math. We started them many years ago and their Math program gave them confidence and has helped them excel in school. We have moved from the area, but are still seeing the benefits of their time at Kobad's math center. I'm a huge fan of Mathnasium and of this center in particular. I have two boys - 4th grade and 6th grade. They started at Mathnasium 6 months ago for different reasons. My 4th grader is bored in school, loves math, and wanted the extra challenge (so he's now wrapping up 5th grade made). My 6th grader managed to squeak into the advanced math class in middle school, but needed to build up some math confidence and get faster at basic computations. He has willingly worked hard and has made his way through a couple grade levels at Mathnasium and is getting into some challenging 7th grade topics. Glynda and all the instructors are solid and really know their stuff. Their incentive program is relatively motivating (receive punch cards for work done; turn those in for Amazon gift cards or prizes), but my boys are more motivated by getting through the binders and the levels. They feel proud about what they've done and how far they've come. Now, I just wish there was an Englishnasium. My 6th grader could really use the same kind of help with his writing. :-) read more

Kobad has been trying to help us with the number of time my son has worked with a tutor which is 4-6 times a month. I wish they had more flexibility with time ,specially on Saturday and Sunday where kids have more time for tutoring. Saturday hours is 10-1. This is extremely important for parents who have kids involved with sports and are trying to get some tutoring going for their kids after 1. I was involved with Sylvan and Kumon and their time for business was much more convenient and flexible. read more

My daughter got her strong foundation from Mathenasium, and we moved a few years later. Now, with the online option open, I signed up my son and could not be more happy. Kobad goes over and beyond to help the partners and kids. My son is learning a lot, and even asked my to add an extra session in the week. This is an excellent place. They go beyond what is taught in school and do so in a logical way. My children undestand math concepts. Plus they don't fight going too much. I can't say that this has helped with their grades but it has improved the way they look at math. Both find math more enjoyable now. read more

We are just 7 weeks in and my 11-year old daughter already likes math so much more than she did before. She looks forward to her time at Mathnasium! She cried when I signed her up -- worried they were going to give her homework and that she'd feel stressed with more academic burdens -- but it's just the opposite. There is no homework, they encourage and teach with kindness, approaching each mathematical concept from many different angles to be sure your child "gets it" completely. My daughter feels excited to go to Mathnasium twice a week and has even asked me to try getting her in for a "touch up" on an occasional day when she has hit a roadblock in math class at school and needs some 1-on-1 advice from the experts at Mathnasium. Best place ever, if your child is struggling in math, please, come here, our 8 year old had the hardest time trying to understand math, after so many different approaches, his teacher and I just couldn't help him get it, till my husband and I brought our son here, he is so excited to learn and has way more self confidence now! My Fourth grade daughter was struggling in Math. You can tell as math was just cascading and building upon her where she was losing more of the basics and was falling behind. My wife and I were frustrated as we weren't able to convey/teach groupings in multiples and this was causing her grades to fall. We brought her in for only a month at the end of the school year and just in that short amount of time we saw a great improvement in her love for math. It was like a light bulb went off in er head. Kobad is an excellent instructor and chooses his tutors very carefully and tries to instill the same kindness and understanding that he exudes. This is the teacher all would like to duplicate in the school system, but unfortunately is not possible. Our two daughters have been going to Mathnasium for a year now and we could not be happier. If you are on the fence set up a meeting with Kobad who did a great job explaining the program to my wife and I. We previously had our girls in Kumon for several years where we experienced the death by a 1,000 packet approach having to drag our girls each time kicking and screaming only to leave with a pouch of packets to also do at home. Completely different approach than we were used to and our girls genuinely enjoy going. Mathnasium is geared toward the needs of each child and what concepts they need. We have definitely seen a marked improvement in both girls over the past year who have drastically different learning styles. Our older daughter also benefits from being able to bring in homework on occasion when she does not understand the concepts from her teacher at school. Much better attention for our girls often times being one on one or one on two instruction with the instructor sitting at the table with them vs. what we were used to of having two instructors for 20 kids. 100% recommend!!! read more

We have been at Mathnasium for five months. This is our first experience with an outside school tutoring center. We could not be happier! My older elementary school child was consistently failing his common core math exams. We were struggling frequently at home with worksheets and homework assignments. While Mathnasium does not specifically teach common core, their assessments and instructions create a solid foundation for all math curriculum. My child is now consistently passing every exam. He masters basic concepts with ease and has an increased confidence which in turn, allows him to be more organized and thoughtful with his homework and problem solving. Glynda and Wayland are very kind and oversee an amazing group of instructors. My child typically sees the same instructor but in the off chance he has someone new, he always has a positive experience. He actually looks forward to and enjoys Mathnasium. While expensive, I never felt pressured to enroll my child after our initial assessment. They truly want to help! read more
