I absolutely adore this reformer Pilates studio. It's an amalgamation of great interior design with ultimate taste and some of the best instructors in the city. Artemis runs the studio here. She is hands on, teaches many of the classes, and a super graceful and patient instructor. Even in group lessons, she will give verbal cues or comes to each person for alignment adjustment that will make the entire difference from an easy exercise while going through the motion to a challenging core exercise with the right muscle engagement. She sets the tone here and truly cares about her clientele individually. I also love Abigail's classes on Friday. The cardio core class on Saturday is super unique - it's done with a jumping board attached to the reformer machine, where people can get cardio exercise without the pounding of the knees while strengthen the core and the leg muscles around the knees. It's fantastic for someone like me with 2 ACL injuries in the past. This studio is sun filled, beautifully laid out, with a gorgeous flower arrangement in the front awaiting us when we arrive. Everything is super tastefully done with a curated and discriminating eye. It's an oasis to which people can escape, workout, and re-align after hours of misalignment at our desk jobs.

Cubbies for your stuff, no lockers FYI

Love this place!…read more It's hard and intense but you definitely get an amazing workout. It's a low impact pilates class with slow movements on a reformer megaformer machine. Here's a small tidbit from their site on what lagree is: The Lagree method blends Pilates, cardio and strength training. Our classes are performed using the patented M3S Megaformer machines that target the slow twitch muscle fibers by engaging in controlled movements, which in turn activate your metabolism, burn fat and calories. I love lagree. I'm always super sore after but it's such an amazing workout. Bring grip socks cause you'll def need it! I've taken a class from several instructors and every single one was great. Parking isn't too bad, there's a lot across the street and a parking lot close by.

So I wanted to wait to take a lot more classes before leaving a review for here. And I would say…read morethat seven out of eight classes were absolutely killer and exactly what I was looking for -- a deep, slow burn, instructors who correct your form and also targeting the deep core, leg/posterior chain muscles, arms etc. And it does not disappoint! I've been to so many Pilates and Lagree studios and the many of them have resulted in random injuries of my friends, etc. But I've always had a really great experience here. The studio is easy to find thirst street parking around or technically there is a parking lot for a grocery store next-door ahem (not saying people park there). The studio is very clean and cute . And instructors are really kind and helpful. Definitely plan to come here more often! I would definitely have a membership here if I live closer !

My only wish was that I had found this studio earlier when I lived just a block or two away, I would have been here all the time. I took Jen's class -- she's the owner -- and it's nice to find someone who is so nice, passionate and involved in her business. The space is small but has 5-6 reformers, some other equipment and one bathroom. Note that there's no separate changing area other than the one bathroom so if you're going to cut it close to the class, it may be best to change at home. The reformer class was excellent and was focus and controlled and I got a good workout in. Jen took the time to explain everything and made sure we were doing the moves correctly. Even though I didn't really sweat in the class, I did feel a little sore in my abs the next day and still got a god workout in. Would highly recommend this place if you like pilates classes like Body Chemistry in the Mission or Mercury Fitness in the Marina. These are the kinds of pilates studios I love to find and frequent. I don't really love the BodyRok or Core40 classes as much since they go too fast, seem very repetitive in the movements/exercises, and don't focus on form. These kind of classes are more of the opposite. 5 stars. Looking forward to taking another class here next time I'm back in San Francisco.

My spouse had MS and wanted to focus on balance concerns, whereas I had just turned 50 and had the upperbody strength of a newborn kitten. It's a really nonjudgmental environment with clients of different shapes and ages. I was hesitant at first to do pilates because I hadn't worked out in a decade, so performing a plank was impossible. Raisa and Rachel seemed to intuitively recognize our skills and motivated us with realistic movements. This was our first experience scheduling private sessions of any kind, but it has proven to be ideal for us because Raisa and Rachel personalize each session to whatever discomfort or pain we are experiencing that week. We are also the only ones in the studio during our session, making it genuinely private. If you have a stiff shoulder in the middle of a session, they have the depth and breadth of understanding to identify the muscle in question and immediately shift you to an optimum exercise. Hubs and I were both in physical therapy for different reasons, and Raisa and Rachel had no trouble adapting and changing movements as needed. I had no idea how much core strength I had gained until I started crossfit a year after starting PIlates and was able to execute (and excel) at every core exercise with my CF trainer.
