No info on how to go about it-she just basically dismissed me. So I made an appointment online. In the info box I wrote I needed to open an estate account. They sent me a confirmation email with the list of things I'd need to bring. I took the day off to make this appointment. I went in and they wanted my EIN number. I gave it to them. Then they said they needed an actual letter from the IRS. I've been asked a few times for this number- including the people that issued the check- none of them ever requested a hard copy of it. Why didn't they include that with the list of things I'd need?! They treat their customers like they're some kind of scumbag trying to pull something. I wanted to deposit it- not cash it and run out on them. They used to be good. I even referred a friend who opened an account with them. My family had been banking there since the early 80s when my mother worked for DEC. Great way to treat a loyal customer. I'm closing my accounts, paying off and canceling my credit cards, and going somewhere else.

Just a few weeks out of ICU, and of a heart/lung machine, where my family was called in to say their good byes, I tried making an online payment. Still clouded from the paralyzing agents and anesthesia, I entered the wrong account number. Payment was denied, I corrected it immediately. They actually still reported me to the Credit Bureau. They knew I tried making the payment in good faith but by the time the dust settled it was 1 day late, and would not reverse their decision! Bottom line: When you are down on your worst circumstances imaginable, this bank will ruthlessly pull the plug with no remorse! Beware!

The tellers are nice and almost everyone is bilingual, which is important since I was the only customer in the bank speaking English. The downtown Andover branch is nicer and generally has less of a wait, but if you're farther North then this bank will do the trick.
