I see most of the reviews are about billing. My review will be about the actual service and work done. My tooth broke a little over a week ago. I did not have a pcd chosen because my last dental experience was horrible and I basically have been neglecting my teeth since that visit two years ago. I'm so happy that I choose Brighter Dental. My visit on Monday was quick and to the point. I did not wait long to be seen after arriving. My xray technician was so professional and pleasant. I believe her name is Camille. She was patient and I could tell that she wanted to make sure I was comfortable. Dr. Lyons looked at my teeth and gave some recommendations. I was lucky enough to get an appointment for an extraction 2 days later. I was so nervous leading up to the procedure. I've had 3 prior extraction experiences. The two where I was awake were super painful and I was expecting it to be the same way. I was completely wrong. Dr. James Kang is the GOAT!!!. I felt nothing. He said my roots were very deep but again zero pain!! He has great bedside manners and I felt very at ease and comfortable during the entire procedure. I've been a patient for about 5-6 years and it's just time for me to leave. They are under new management and it has been a mess since then. Very unorganized and unprofessional. They can never locate my file when I call and the receptionists' attitudes are horrible. I literally leave upset every time. They seem clueless whenever I call and one time they threw out a document I signed stating what I responsible for paying on my next visit. When I asked if they scanned the documents, they looked at each other confused and pretended to search for it. I do not recommend anyone to go there. read more

I am not one to ever leave reviews but this office is the absolute worst place I have ever encountered. The front desk staff and managers there are the rudest, incompetent people I have ever dealt with, it's as if their goal is to want people to write negative reviews. I showed up to my appointment on two separate occasions where they had me wait for almost an hour telling me I would be seen soon and then after an hour of waiting they changed their mind and told me they were too busy for me and to reschedule!!!! Absolutely unprofessional!! On top of that I have been receiving a bill for visits I was not even scheduled and no one there is helping me get this issue resolved. Every single time I call the manager is "out to lunch" and will give me a call when she's back, I've left numerous messages and have yet to receive a call back. Administration is a mess. Front office is consistently short-staffed. Extremely slow at rectifying a refund due to their account error that resulted in being overcharged. Go at you rown risk. I firmly believe I got COVID at this dental office. The timing and the fact that I went nowhere else and saw no on else in that time period...plus It's a BIG practice. Full waiting room and lots of people in and out while I was in the dental chair. And no air filters. Then...when I called to let them I had COVID and thought I most likely got it there, all the off mger said was: "NO one here has it." What does htta mean? No one is symptomatic? I was a new patient and scheduled weeks in advance in order to coordinate with my work & holiday schedule. I received a text message to confirm my appointment 1 week prior to the date, which I immediately confirmed. I then travel out of the country for a week. Today, when I arrive at my 9:30a appointment, the receptionist proceeds to tell me the doctor has called out sick and claims they have left numerous messages about the doctor not being available. Obviously, I did not receive any message of the sort. I received 1 call at 4p on the Friday prior to my appointment asking for my Insurance information. I would assume a more credible office would try contacting a patient the day of their appointment if a doctor is unavailable. Time is not free!This seems like an unprofessional practice. read more

I was very very pleased with my recent visit here. I had my wisdom teeth removed here today by Dr. Kang. He and the assisting ladies were so so sooooo great to me. I'm an anxious wreck when it comes to dental work. They cheered me on all along and didn't make me feel bad for being a grown adult who was in tears lol. Dr. Kang was patient and gentle and just an absolute pleasure to deal with. My initial visit with Brighter Dental of East Brunswick was NOT as great by any means and I was going to end up going elsewhere but I was transferred to this one and I'm very happy I went. The front desk ladies are also very helpful and sweet. The rooms are very clean and the equipment looks up to date and nice. They are definitely worth checking out. read more

Total waste of time, very unprofessional front desk. We checked in 10 minutes before our appointment and was told that office will call when they are ready to take us. No call for 20 mins, when called back to check on wait they said its going to take time and they Dont know how much. Couldn't even answer how many patients before me. It would appear that this office pays no attention to negative reviews. I posted three weeks ago about my nightmare experience over the past year because my attorney recommended that I reach out directly to Brighter Dental to discuss a resolution to the problem with my dentures before instituting legal action, but I have had no contact from them. I continue to try to wear the dentures without success. They fall out with the slightest drink of water, and I wind up removing them in order to finish a meal. Not as big a problem at home, but extremely embarrassing in public. In fact, my gums are so sore after short periods, I can't wear them again for a couple of days. If someone there would review my case, they will have to agree that they have not provided me with functional dentures, as had been promised when they pulled all my teeth. Extremely unprofessional and disrespectful as these are the same issues which I have reported since last Fall. read more

I do not recommend, especially for Braces. I have been a patient for 3 years at this location, and have spent $10k and I cannot wait to be done with my treatment so I never have to go back. To start, I have had THREE different doctors during my treatment.. and I truly believe that the changing of doctors has delayed my overall treatment. They told me that I had a more difficult case, and it required me to work with different doctors to do extractions, as well as an implant. What I was hoping for, was to do everything at the same location so that the doctors know each other and can communicate about my 'difficult case'. That did NOT happen. I noticed that the doctors were not communicating with each other, and that I was solely responsible for understanding where I was in my treatment. I WAS NOT PREPARED FOR THAT. I know nothing about this stuff, or what I should be doing.. it's why I decided to go to PROFESSIONALS to help and be on top of my treatment. I expected that I would go into the dentist office and they would understand my case and they would be on top oh my treatment progress. 3 years later.. I'm still in braces, and pissed off. For a year, I hardly felt like ANYTHING progressed. That's when I started asking questions about what the next steps are and that's finally when things started to move forward. I finally got so overwhelmed and upset at the lack of communication and progress that I sat down with the head of all the doctors and told her my frustrations. Thankfully she listened.. but at the end of the day, the only thing she could give me was an apology. At this point, I really needed more than an apology. I asked around about what I should do and people told me to ask for free whitening or ANYTHING. When I asked, I found out that they could do it.. BUT because of my difficult case, it would delay my treatment. So obviously I don't want to delay anything anymore. I JUST WANT TO BE DONE and I wanted to be compensated, but they couldn't even offer me anything, I had to ask THEM - and at the end of the day there was nothing they could do. OH AND SIDE NOTE.. the doctors don't work everyday in the same location (sometimes they only work a few times a week) - I found that to be a HUGE inconvenience, especially when I needed help with my retainer that was bothering me. So that is my story about my braces.. I don't recommend this place. I spent so much money and I don't even care about the results, I'm so frustrated with the process that I don't even appreciate the smile. read more

No one seems to care about their job. They just want to leech of their patients. Very unprofessional. I'm going somewhere else. If I can give em a no star, I will give em that. They made me paid $300 dollar out-of-pocket for the extraction even though their in my insurance's in-network. They said I can claim that money from my Medical Insurance and Dental Insurance. My Dental Insurance covers everything was done to me that day. I called my insurance and they informed that they sent a check to my dentist. I called my dentist office and they told me that it will take a month to process my reimbursement. Went in for a crown after like 6 different appointments and all kind of charges do my insurance the Dr broke my crown the crown doesn't fit properly I don't know what kind of doctor they have working there was terrible experience I would never recommend this place. I am receiving excellent dental care with perio maintenance added to the regular schedule of cleanings. My goal is to prevent periodontal disease, which unfortunately both my siblings developed and they had to get dentures. I am 65 years old and, in combination with my own efforts to floss and brush at least twice daily, I have been able to keep my teeth and have healthy gums. I should add that I have been able to afford dental care because I have employer-sponsored health insurance that includes dental and vision coverage. Access to affordable health care, including dental, is something that everyone should have. Dental health is necessary for overall health. Health care is a human right. read more

This is pre-COVID and the most unprofessional clinic I've ever been to. Had to get my wisdom teeth taken out last minute and was sent to this place by my dentist. I spoke to the receptionist and she asked if I would be need anesthesia for my wisdom teeth removal and I told her no as I would need to drive home afterwards. I get to my appointment and receptionist, hygienist and dentist herself all ask again and ask why I don't need anesthesia. Now I've had one side of my wisdom teeth taken out before somewhere else and they numbed me and it was totally fine, not such a huge issue like here. I pay my portion of the copay and wait. I go in and they numb me and the dentist WHILE in the middle of knocking and taking my wisdom teeth out flat out asks her assistant who also has her hand in my mouth " Did she pay yet? " Maybe that's why she wants everyone on anesthesia so they don't see how unprofessional she is. read more

I went for a possible Apico treatment of one rootcanal that was recommended by my regular dentist. The Dr. tapped on the tooth, it hurt and asked me how old was the root canal. About 25 years I said. She said after 10 years the Apico procedure is effective only about 33% and ruled it out. Instead she recommended a total tooth extraction and implant - a complex procedure requiring 4 visits and cost $3975.00 I asked what exactly was involved. She gave me a chapter to read the procedure. I had a creepy feeling about the whole experience and left without making next appointment. I consulted another oral surgeon who has to be amongst the best. He studies the x-ray thoroughly and noticed the nerve almost touching the bottom of the root canal thus the pain when tooth is tapped. He recommended to do nothing, actually said, "if it was my father I will leave the tooth alone". Although the office staff is excellent the facility seems like a money hungry operation. I just moved to New Jersey from Baltimore and I needed a new dentist. Brighter Dental is close to my home so I made an appointment. I couldn't be happier with the experiences I have had at brighter dental. I have had about three appointments there so far and each has been awesome. The staff is so welcoming and friendly. The hygienist and assistants are very professional and are very friendly and informational. The hygienists I have had always offer tips to take better care of my teeth and suggest products (like tooth brushes and tooth paste) that would work best for my needs. The dentist here are also awesome! Very friendly and make you feel comfortable. He even picked up on some thing my dentist back in Baltimore missed or failed to mention. I had a root canal over a year ago. I started having problems with the root canal. I have called numerous times and they always give me the run around. Last time I saw one of the dentist was back in November. I was told that they have to discuss this with the Oral Surgeon. As of today, I am still waiting for a call back. However, I have received text to get my cleaning. After that I have called 3 times and spoke with the receptionists with the understanding that they will called me back. I called today again, now another dentist have to see me to figure out what they are going to do. This is not the first time that I have problems with them. Really bad follow up, as long as they have my money they could care less. I will not recommend this place for any dental work. I had to switch to this location because I moved, and I'm so sorry I switched. The lady controlling appointments at the time of my arrival on 11/9/19 was cold, unfriendly and didn't really want to make my daughter's next 8 week appointment. In fact, she made it a point to tell me I can't be late for the time I requested. I was disgusted with her attitude as this was my first visit and my daughter is always early for all ortho visits. I finally got a dentist office I feel comfortable with and trust. I have walked around for years with bad teeth. When I finally got insurance one dentist office tried to charge me more than what I was suppose to pay. Luckily I knew something wasn't right and called my insurance. So that discouraged me for a long time. Then my husband had a few surgeries at different times to remove his toes due to diabetes. So I put my dental work on pause to pay medical bills. Well finally thing'sare starting to pick up but I was still scared I wasn't going to be able to afford to get everything done but I decided to try going to the dentist again. Well I actually went to a whole different dentist that referred me to brighter dental to see the oral surgeon and thank God they did. I am having to have all my teeth removed and dentures put in. I have decided to get my dentures through them as well. From get go he told me what treatment plan would be best. They broke down what my insurance was going to cover and what I was going to pay which was actually very doable. Then made me a appointment right away to have my impressions done which was today. After all that was done it was time to set up my first surgey at first the lady at the front desk thought that they where booked up for a minute. I'm originally from Georgia but lived in Tennessee for eight years before coming to New Jersey. Well I have a job offer that requires me to go back to Tennessee and I will be back and fourth up to New Jersey as well but I am leaving in August sometime and I know I wont be back up here until probably November and I would like to get it done while I have my husbands insurance up here. So she could tell I was freaking out a little but reassured me it would work out. Well she did her magic and for me a appointment for next week. I was so grateful. Then it gets better later after I got home I got a call from her saying they had a cancellation for this Wednesday and she thought of me right away. That meant everything in the world to me. So needless to say I am very happy to be on this journey with brighter dental. The whole staff has been amazing. I for once have my hope back and I cannot wait to go through this process. Knowing that I am in good hands makes me feel so much better about everything. It actually seems real now and I cannot thank brighter dental enough. There is no doubt when it is time to get my permanent set of dentures I will be traveling up here to have it done through them and I will gladly pay the out of pocket cost cause it is affordable. They already gave me a price quote for that as well and that won't be done for months. I thought that was pretty cool cause now I know how much to save up. I am so happy I was referred to them. Well, I have couple of visits at this clinic. The 1st time was no issue when I went for x-ray. After many months I finally scheduled an appointment for a cavity filling. When I showed up on the day of appointment, the front desk gave me a shocker that they do not accept the insurance that I have. What a bummer and unprofessional staff the facility has. One of the staff was so cool in telling as if it was not a big matter. My foot! I took a day off at work to be there as they behaved as if nothing happened. I had forgotten to take a medication that I need before dental work and they were able to provide the antibiotic for me. They not only treated me very professionally but they also put me at ease.
