Ive been here twice for dental work and the first time they charged my insurance for things not even done. I tried calling for a month and could never reach the billing department. I proceeded to get a crown placed which went well and was needed. The second time the dentist walked in, did not even look at my x-rays and just recommends a crown when i need a filling replaced. Do not go here they will push unnecessary procedures just to make their quotas and fill their pockets then bill your insurance for whatever they can get away with. read more

Save yourself the trouble and find a dental practice that operates professionally. This one does not. This place is undeserving of one star. I visited the Somerset office of this "practice" on Monday, May 4, for a routine cleaning. Most dental insurance plans cover two cleanings each year. An employee took photos of my teeth. Afterward, one of the "dentists" at this practice claimed I needed a special cleaning that costs thousands of dollars and to have a filling redone that would cost $60 out of pocket. (My insurance would be on the hook for most of the cost of the cleaning but I'd have to pay upward of $600 out of pocket as well.) It's worth noting that most insurance plans also cover the cost of fillings. Judging by the many one-star reviews, it is clear this is a shoddy practice that puts profit above patients. One of the principles of the Hippocratic Oath -- which many medical students and physicians take in some capacity -- is to act in the best interest of the client. The "dentist" I spoke with during my visit did not act in my best interest. Needless to say I left without allowing her to perform any work on my teeth. The entire experience was distressing. Again, judging by my own experience and that of others who have left critical reviews, this facility has a pattern of quoting/charging obscene amounts for routine procedures. I have already reported this practice to the New Jersey Attorney General and hope they conduct a thorough review. I have also filed a complaint with my insurance company. I would not recommend anyone patronize this place unless you wish to risk being taken advantage of. read more

This organization is acting unethically and irresponsibly. First, they charged me out-of-pocket for various items that other dentists do not charge. Then, they billed my secondary insurance for the same services -- even though I had already paid -- and assured me I would be reimbursed. It has now been more than six months since I received the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from my secondary insurer confirming payment, yet I have received no reimbursement. Every time I call, I'm either kept on hold or transferred repeatedly with no resolution, telling me to give them some more time. This behavior is unacceptable and feels deliberately deceptive. On top of that, the quality of care is mediocre. Appointments are consistently overbooked, and patients are left waiting for hours. read more

Update - As they are sending fraud bill after 4 years I think we can also go to consumer court to fight case. I will be reaching out to individuals to get details and we can get insurance explanations. They asking money which was denied by insurance and there was no patient responsibility as they charged 2 times for consultation on same day. Insurance approved one and denied one. Approved one I paid and denied one I was not supposed to pay as they are now asking me to pay if not then threatening me to destroy my credit history. In my 17 years this is the only practice or case I had issue. ----------- Thanks for all comments and I am also facing billing issue. They took all money and signed document before extracting my tooth. After 4 years now they came back and asking more money. In last 4 years I did not see any email and all bills were settled. Need to be careful because they made us pay upfront in the office before the service was rendered. The bill was not detailed and what was sent to the insurance company was less than what was actually was paid. When the insurance company questioned them they told the insurance company that there were additional charges that the patient was responsible for that were not submitted to the insurance. Very shady operation. We have tried to get reimbursed for over payment but no luck. read more

I switched to the Somerset office after having horrible experience after horrible experience at the North Brunswick office. For some reason, the Somerset office is much more organized and has a beautiful view of the farm across the street. Other than sometimes having a long wait time (today I waited in the dentist chair for 15-20 minutes before being seen), this office is pretty good. The oral hygienists and dentists do quite a nice job at cleaning my teeth. Additionally, I think they provide good oral hygiene tips and recommendations. Clean office. I set up an appointment and KK Dental - Somerset ghosted me. I wait for over 45 minutes to have my emergent dental work done and the office wasn't even open for the time they scheduled me for. They confirmed the night before via text of my appointment at 3:30pm--turns out they're only open until 2pm on Saturdays, so why waste my time? They were open earlier in the day and they chose not to call me and reschedule. They chose to let me figure it out when I showed up to the closed office with my broken tooth--now without a way to get it fixed until dental offices open back up on Monday. Overall, my experience was ok, not so great. Positives: The dentists Dr. CB is good & Back-office support Shweta is good (she is very busy so hard to get hold off her but she does spend time when you connect with her). Thank you! Negatives: Billing: Not so good experience with them, charges are hard to understand and you end up spending so much time with them and insurance company. Their normal practices is that KK Dental will send you unpaid bill notice via mail and email on weekly basis till you pay (on email you can't reply, it bounces back so communication is only one way). Before i left them, I was told that my account is cleared and then i start getting their communication via email/postal mail on unpaid balance (i am at the point now that i will just pay them and get it over with it because it's not worth the headache). I was referred by friend of mine (plus office is close to my home), that friend and his family just left because of high billing estimates and we left them few month back as well. KK Dental needs to be close with their clients, they are growing but it seems like they did not prepare to support the growth. At this point i would not recommend them to family/friends until they fix the billing/customer communication, i wish them the best and hoping to see them improve customer/billing services. This place is like an expensive horror movie in your mouth! Stay away from this dentist! First off the hygienist (Chinese lady....didn't catch her name and she didn't introduce herself) gave my husband a terrible routine cleaning and cracked off his front tooth filling. I got a routine cleaning, right before and boy let me tell you she was rough! Our hygienist in Hawaii (Tory from Dr. Christopher Chow) always does a much better job, takes her time and gets our teeth super white but this wasn't the case with this lady. This office also pushes "deep cleanings" on people. Yes the reviews from others about this office being money hungry are 100% correct! I sat in the office waiting for my husbands session and I heard them talk about doing "deep cleanings" with at least 4 other patients. That's uncanny that we all need them! My husband said that the dentist said he looked good but the hygienist piped in and said "no he needs a deep cleaning" which changed the dentists tune to telling him that he needed one. So that made me research this "deep cleaning" procedure more. Apparently it should only be done in areas that it needs to be done and is wicked expensive and costs $250 per quadrant! This office asked us 3 times each of when we could get this done for our entire mouth right then and there! And they were so disappointed when we said "not right now." But what really took this review rating all the way down to 1 star is that after they cracked my husbands filling they made him pay for it. Our dentist in Hawaii (Dr. Christopher Chow) also did the same thing and owned up to it and fixed my husbands filling for free. When we questioned this the Dentist AND the 2 receptionists stated back to us that "this is the first time I've ever heard of this happening" and "well now this time it'll last forever!" Additionally if you can do a "deep cleaning" which takes 45 min to 1 hr to do, "right now," then say we'll need to wait until they don't know when, to fix that front tooth filling (which takes 15 minutes) you're truly showing that you don't care about people or dental health, you only care about money. My hubby said the dentist did a good job on the filling but then 5 days later it started to hurt. The doctor and his assistant were good. The problem is their front desk/billers. No matter how great your dental plan is they will make you pay for something. They will tell you, your insurance doesn't cover. That's what happened to me. Check your EXPLANATION OF BENEFIT (EOB)! When I received my EOB I noticed the codes I paid for were not listed. When I questioned the office they said, we do not bill the insurance because it's not a covered service. I checked with my insurance, gave them the CPT codes and they do cover. The girl at this office told me she will submit it to my insurance. Two weeks later, she did not submit. I called the office again. She said she will call me back - she has not. I've been calling and I get, she's not in, out to lunch, the phones are down. My advice, make an appointment when your insurance company is open so you can call and verify the codes. Ask for the codes before you have any work done. Always, always check your EOBs. I will get my money back!! read more

I had been to KK Dental Associates for treatment of one of the molar teeth. The Dentist is very professional and did a fairly good job but, the front desk does not give you correct estimate about financial impact. They initially told me they will be charging $200 for each crown with $50 deductable and, then on subsequent visit, they doubled the amount. When I reminded them about the previous discussion, they flatly denied and, unfortunately their attitude forced me to look for an alternative. My point is,even if you made a mistake you must be polite enough to admit it and realign the patient's expectations. Its not the matter about money, its about principles. read more

If you want an assembly line type of dental operation, this is it. They do exhibit patient interest--interest in a patient's money and dental insurance. They will nickel and dime you to death. Generating revienue is their paramount priority. Needing special dental work, I elected to enlist dental specialists outside their group. That was particularly frowned upon. They kept asking why I wouldn't use their group. The answer is simple. It is obvious that money is number one with them; not patient care. Just stay away. read more

The billing department is horrible. They have billed thrice to my HSA card and after several attempts refunded with few dollars short. Dental insurance EOB and their bill (hand written paper copy) doesn't match. My HSA card has been blocked for 3 months because they could not provide appropriate bill for the charges they charged. This place is worst, horrible, or anything you may take it as. They SURELY miss lead their patients, no work ethics, staff is friendly because they want your MONEY. If you getting anything done there, they will say it's covered by your insurance you don't have to PAY anything. They did same with us. DID major procedures and sent a bill 4 years later because their billing staff change. At the time of the procedure dr was keep going to check wheather it was covered by insurance or not and when she comes back it was always covered. Manager is extremely rude he does not care of patients or their value...they are big lier on all the billing information giving. Dr also had forgot to take few stitches out from the surgery in follow up visit.....terrible....Staff promises for call back but they never do. if as you speak to the owner, who is never available or his staff never give a message to him if or incase patients want to speak to him.....i called my insurance company to see if Dr office actually call them ever for verification or any pending claims they had no history of KK dental calling them. awful experience! the dentist was very distracted and watched TV the whole time. the cleaning was not done as well as in other dentist I have been to, it felt like the dentist was in a hurry to go and then he left me waiting for over 20 minutes (I almost left) once done the office charged me with x-ray I did not get. I complained and got those charges took out. after that I find out from my ensure that I was overcharged... It took me 3 calls to get them to refund my card NEVER AGAIN!!!!! read more

But,,wow,, she was amazing,, patient..most importantly... she made sure I was comfortable and had NO pain.. Dr. Gina.. same.. very good.. I would NOT recommend KKK to anyone. I went to the Prosthodontist, Dr Patel for an issue with TMD and Bridge work. Unfortunately, my condition has worsened since the visit. It is IMPOSSIBLE to speak to the doctor via phone after hours or in case of an emergency. Dr Patel is in the office once a week..... I now need to go to a different specialist. The area where patients are seen is like being in an office cubicle. There is no privacy and you can hear and see other patients and doctors speaking with the patients. Also, cleanliness is not practiced efficiently. The assistant wore the same gloves and touched everything without changing them. I was on my own when needing to rinse my mouth. At one visit, I had to get out of the chair and use the sink to rinse. The fact that I called when in pain and basically was on my own was alarming to me. Great Disappointment!!
